Buzz, I have no problem on bald summer tyres on mendip at the moment, it's all about commitment and momentum. Science officer can vouch for this.

Sold my FS Flux going back to a geared hardtail, riding the ss convinced me this was what I needed

I have that Curtis ss, 100mm as Clink already said in 853 and it rides like a dream, even now sold the Turner flux because riding it made me realise a hardtail works better for me, a truly amazing bike.

    THIS WILL NEVER BE SOLD!!!!!

Mmm home dentistry is not a good thing, Mrs C used to work as a dental nurse. Had a patient come in 1 day he didn't want to pay to have a tooth removed, said he could do it himself, a few weeks later she see's him and finds out he tied a weight to it, threw the weight out of the window and broke his JAW!!!…..tooth still in place.

Rich C ….”I guess the Mendips does only have 40 minutes of good riding, if you are very quick on your bike “

Or you don’t know where the really good bits can be found!!!

Try not to promote this trail too much as your riding a SSSI. Bat boxes in the trees if you look around.

Tangent, had a 725 SS Dekerf myself, I can confirm a vastly improved ride on the Curtis, it just seems to have a more lively uptake, in comparison the 725 felt slow and lethargic

As Dibbs says Royce and RS7 works great, torque correctly and check torque after several short rides till fully wound on then no problems

Tangent, is that Andy Chamberlains Curtis? If so it’s T45. Horizontal stainless dropouts disc only, none of that ebb for me

Ivan I have a full 853 SS Curtis, there is truly no comparison. The best £900 I have ever spent, I can ride 5-6 hours( longest I’ve done so far on Mendip) because it’s custom and all sizing is as I needed I have no discomfort whatsoever. As comfy as my Flux but only the one gear…..remember if you buy it, it will be forever.

Tried a mates 456 and totally unresponsive in comparison (sorry Brant & Colin). If your local drop me an e-mail

If your a keen cyclist, then don’t think you could run a perfect shop as you would like it yourself. However, if your a good business mind and think long term you should be okay. A sound business plan and cash flow planned out are 2 of the most important items in any business, businesses only fail through lack of cash, not by poor profits.
Keep the cash correct, the creditors happy and treat all your friends as customers, we all know how tight us cyclists are.

If your still interested I wish you the best of luck.

Hora, we regularly have feathers in the dogs mouth, and frogs left in the garden, frog’s have a tendency to play dead though and when you lift them up the buggars jump!!
