Magic Mary up front is a better choice, HD on the back will cover all your needs

They will know you have it, only time before karma bites you on the ass, be a good human being and return it.

Trail centres I’ve ridden are CyB, Llandegla, Afan, Cwmcarn and Nant y Arian, all a bit meh if you ask me, there for a purpose, would rather go hunting real trails be it Dartmoor, Exmoor, Q’s or Lakes, not done any Scottish trail centres yet though so won’t pass comment on those

Took my boy to Morzine and Chamonix a couple of weeks ago, he held his own on his hardtail considering a lot of DH bikes being used on blue trails, he wasn’t letting them get away. Proud Dad !

    Why not carbons?

My QH is the most capable bike I’ve ever thrown a leg over, steel 29 hardtail. 140mm pikes, LB rims, 1 x 11.
It’s so good I may get one for the boy to stop him stealing mine

Reading this thread reminded me I needed a new set prior to Alps in 2 weeks, cost me £200 with the other “just in case ” bits

Wow, just had a look at the Epo, lovely, but that’s silly money for a carbon hardtail, I’ll keep my QH, it’s doing the job more than adequately at present.
Perhaps one day all these ‘orses should ride together, obviously somewhere technical

Ton, I ride my tallboy Ltc as hard as possible, or until it goes tits up, I’m sure there’s more potential there, have to wait till my balls have got bigger though

Lost Mrs C but 4 weeks ago, in the last 6 months of her life she could barely do anything, she spent most days asleep in a morphine haze.
If you can do anything in the last 6 months it would be get your house in order, she did, still bloody hurts though.

Not got a picture to hand but my 2 Souls Quarterhorse has been far more capable than the Nicolai Helius it replaced, done Lakes, Wales, Quantocks and this summer taking it to Morzine because its just that good to ride.
Search on here about them, they’re really jolly good
SSStu, and Scienceofficer both have one too

QH? Should think it will take 27.5+ as I have a 2.4 Onza Ibex on a 30mm internal lb rim, if you have one and are local to Somerset you can try one in mine

Put one on the back of my Tallboy for a weekend at Calderdale and then Snowdon, cut the carcass 3 times, in first 2 hours, went back to blazing saddles and had a high roller 2 fitted, RR is now in a box in the garage been repaired, i won’t use again though.
Expensive tyre that doesn’t like rocks

Find somewhere you can ride similar and do it lots, push the envelope out of comfort zones, you’ll soon feel gradually more at homework, we have lots of technical rock sections I can put together on Mendip, handy to practice on pre Lakes trips or Spain

When 38 years old, I was at work, started getting pins and needles in my hands, sweating like a sweaty thing sat somewhere cool and it passed, drove home it started again, passed out at mothers woke up in an ambulance hooked up to several machines, whisked into local emergency dept and monitored for a couple of hours, then had another one so whisked from Weston super mare to Bristol heart unit in sub 20 minutes, 4 days in hospital, lots of tests, including exercise test, passed easily.
Blood test showed minimal salt in my system which caused the heart attack, took about 4 months to recover, was banned from bikes for what seemed an eternity.
Over exercising and not enough food, was training for Kielder 100 at the time, doing 75mile SS ride on weekends and 4 other nights training during the week

Split the lead rider, one rider rides to a junction or split in the trail, then someone else chooses where to go next till the next junction/split, speeds tend to increase gradually and rides get really random rather than same loops

Use Aldi every week now, pretty much get everything from there except washing up liquid and washing liquid, these are still bought through Wilkinsons to keep the pennies spent down.

Put a Chris King BB92 in my QH today, bear in mind the old Shimano came out in about 16 parts as it disintegrated during removal, at least it’s the same colour as my hubs now….result!

Won’t happen though, Suzuki have the softer compound rear tyre which they are using well for qualifying, can’t see them holding any sort of race pace to match JL or MM
