    Mine is also slightly underforked

Looking at the photo, it appears to only have half a fork! 😀

Don’t worry, it was also half the price.

I’m 6’1″ and find the XL great, I was looking for a long bike though. It took a little getting used to but it is ace now. Mine is also slightly underforked so longer than originally designed

I did! I have the Crmo version a XL in green and absolutely love it.

I’ve ridden it in the dark. It’s hard work if you don’t know it but quite fun.

It has a fence around it and a gate to stop Motocross riders but yes accessible at night.

Soldering iron – a touch of solder on the end of gear cables is a massive upgrade over crimped ends.

Here’s mine. It’s a bit of an oddball.

To answer a few points which probably don’t apply to everyone.

I only have one bike, so not too worried about the only use on one bike.

I like the clean lines – this is totally aesthetic.

I’ve had several pumps attached to bottle cage which have failed because of the sand and grit that has been thrown at them.

The process would go, get tool out of cranks, undo expander plug (in top of steerer), take pump out of steerer. It wouldn’t involve removing the front wheel but I understand that it may be slower than taking one off the frame or digging in a pack to find it.

5mm hex key is on the tool in my hollowtech crank.

I just measured the ID of my steeerer and it is 24.1mm which is .15mm too small for EDC.
I’m guessing this is prohibitive to be able to tap the thread.

Washing up liquid and used coffee grounds – I guess it is the same as sugar but the coffee grounds are already used and not wasted. You can actually premix the coffee grounds and soap and keep it for a while.

Yeah £75 is approaching reasonable in my opinion.

I guess another reason to run 10 speed might be a cheap way to save some grams if you can manage without the huge bail out gears.

    A £25 Deore 11-42 10 speed is 435g
    > £100 XT 10-51 12 speed is 470g

I know it could be a big compromise but I can imagine some price conscious XC riders who might want to save the mass.

I never got to 12 speed. But went back from 11-speed to Deore 11-42 10 speed a year ago. The appeal of a £25 cassette was too alluring! I’ve not found anything I could climb before I can’t climb now. Still plenty of things I can’t climb. Find it has made me faster too. Running 32t front to 11-42t on 650b. I find it very hard to justify upwards of £100 for a cassette!

If you go down those jumps and then head up the other side you can hook left to a fun bit of single track taking you back to the start of the jumps. It makes a nice (if not tiny) loop.
Those three jumps are getting bigger each time I go. I’m quite keen to fill them in to doubles to make them safer for beginner riders. (Have seen a few kids trying to ride them)
Not sure if tables are safer than doubles? People are a lot less likely to ride doubles.

Finding that jump track is relatively easy. once you are there you can find quite a few extra lines down by going north or south across the path on the top. For local stuff it’s the best I’ve found. Some of it is a little steep but it is pretty fun.

I live in the area and have been blasting along fallowfield loop to Reddish Vale – there are some alright tracks in there and some good steep lines I’ve been cutting in. It seems to have more of a vertical drop than most of Manchester. Am super keen to see if there is anything to ride near chorlton though as it is much closer.
I’ve tried to find things along Mersey valley near the water parks and have had no luck. Will try and get to kenworthy and bruntwood next.
