@fastfunkier just to confirm there is no recall we have still only had 12 bikes with this issue. it does appear that some issues are down to the stroke of the Monarch rear shock moving more than 51mm that they should, but the main problem as i’ve stated is that the front mount was welded slightly too far forward.

if you have any direct question please contact me mike.sanderson@gooutdoors.co.uk

cheers guys, we will get these issues fixed and none more than me are upset that this has happened – but were not the first and i’m sure not the last bike company to face an issue

    Cheers,
    Mike

@ Sir HC The suspension forces keep the bushing rotated in the correct position. The shock is always under compression when in use which keeps it in position. It’s a non-issue 🙂

@buckster we’ll get you these images, but this has been checked and it fixes the issue 100%

    HI Guys,

I’ve only just been made aware of this feed:

The QC issue is a result of the front shock mount being welded 1 -1.5mm further forward (towards the head tube) than it should, we’ve had around 15 bikes returned from thousands sold. The issue has been rectified at the factory and anything from here on in will not be affected. The fixes I have are: 1.) I have a small number of replacement frames, but some of these were damaged in transit so I’m waiting for some more. 2.) I have offset bushes, these will move the rear shock back to the correct position and is an easy fix.

stores are aware of the issue and will be able to help you.

once again sorry for this, and as i’ve said it really is a small batch issue and the buzz is just that and will not stop you mid ride etc.

    Best regards,
    Mike

@NW i’m really surprised at your issues as we’ve been using 3 Dunes since Mayhem all doing well over 200miles and have had no issues? i will make contact though and make sure nothing has changed. noted on the mech hanger and will make a change to the spec.

@Suggsey will see what i can do, wont be until the new year now, but frame patches dont cost much

@Bakey i’m sorry the customer care guy didn’t relay the message to you [properly, i’m giving you my personal one from my bike so you can carry on riding, i’m OK to wait for the warranty ones (stuck in customs – what can you do)

@Sniff i’ve arranged for a boxed Dune to arrive in Inverness early next week – if you give the store a call on 0844 387 6834 they can advise once its built etc

@Sniff yeah we have had a great response to the Dune so stocks are starting to thin a little. what would be your local store? i’ll see what i can do for you. more stock will arrive early next year though. as for another model, it wasnt on the cards but by the feeling i’m getting here it could be. what would you like to see as upgrades on the Dune and what price point would you be thinking?

    Cheers,
    Mike

@suggsey we’ve got a full range of spares coming in and hangers will be part of this. regarding the rim strips we did try the yellow but in all honesty it was just too much yellow :)but colours etc are a personal taste

    Hi All,

I just wanted to say thank you for the posts on the Dune, I’m really glad that you’ve all got the point of the Dune. It was designed to be an affordable 2nd (or 3rd) bike and an entry into Fat Bikes, and if you like it then you can upgrade. So as some of you have seen, its Bluto compatible for no real extra cost other than the forks themselves, hydraulic disc brakes are cheap as chips these days and drive-chain can be changed 1×10 easily. It’s also true that a larger version will be in stores early next year – to be honest we were nervous on the Fat Bike so wanted to limit our risk, but the larger size was developed and even raced at Mountain Mayhem this year.

    Cheers,
    Mike (Calibre Bikes)
