As somebody who has never voted or showed interest before in this pantomime, if it ever goes to another vote or option I’m voting leave. The sheer incompetence and disregard for the salary payers has left me with little faith or trust in our so-called government

Umm. Power of reasoning is not great here.

Excellent! Thank you all for the suggestions. First port of call will be charity shops to see if I can find any of these hiding away before sending more money to Amazon.

Someone mentioned Roche Mazet merlot – yes!! I brought a case home this year and it was ace. Will get more next year for sure (even if the pound halves against the euro, it’s still well worth it).

Their cabernet is another matter – not to be recommended.

To update on our C2W voucher situation:

We were issued a voucher, which was then retracted  because of the change in ownership and another issued pretty much immediately.

spending the voucher proves tricky, not because it’s invalid, but because Evans are having to open new accounts with every supplier. Within a couple of weeks I’m assured all will be back to normal and we’ll be able to order form the usual brands.

Oh dear. We have a £1k ctw voucher inbound for Evans.

I wonder if we can wriggle out of it and change retailer?

I really have no idea on the colour match – just used the closest looking one! I’m pretty colour blind so not the most fussy.

Method wise, as described above. Prise seals out, mask all holes off (being careful not to let dust get in the lowers/bushes) and give them a flatting down. I primed them at this stage, then painted.

    Things I now know:

    1. Pike decals are a pain to remove

    2. You can never apply too many coats of clear

    3. Extraction in your work area is important. A light coat of paint causes a thick fog in the shed which settles everywhere.

For my next attempt I’ll be building a booth in the shed and wiring an extractor in. We’ll see how that goes! I’d also like to find a local dip and strip service  – would appreciate recommendations in the South Yorkshire area.

Well thank you friend, job done!

Much like you I used spray.bike, this time using pearl grey and using decals as stencils (the logos are therefore painted yellow). Forks are my take on a ‘96 Judy SL with polished crown.

Bike is a remedy 29er on 27.5×2.8s, home made Huck Norris, revalved pike RC, slack angleset + offset shock bush, vorsprung corset and push tuning. I think that’s about it for now!

Overall I think you’ve achieved a much better finish. You may have inspired me to start again and try harder this time!

Ha! Ahah ahaha, I totally sniped it. Been waiting for this moment for weeks.

Now I’m famous, I’d like to take my opportunity in the spotlight to make my opinion heard, then exit stage left.

The referendum was a balls up. We’re in the sticky brown gravy, and despite what any of us say, you can’t change it. If there is another vote then you get another chance, but for now we’re riding towards oblivion with a bunch of goons at the helm.

Im in, will always be in, and whatever happens, I hold leave voters responsible for being so gullible.

At 100k posts I’ll update my feelings.

Hmm, this topic opens up an area I’ve been unsure about following my own altercations.

I live on a busy city street where parking spaces are usually at >90% taken, often nose to tail all the way up. Most houses have a drive way (with dropped kerb) but most are unused. Some are clearly used for access to a garage, but a good number are used as additional garden with plants, bins and even furniture. I’ve noticed that most of these are parked over on a daily basis by random cars. Drives that are used (by cars or otherwise, for example there is a tradesman who loads his van each morning from his garage) are well respected.

I should point out that we have a drive and have three cars. Two are always on the drive, one lives on the road.

There was one house a few doors up though, where despite the drive clearly being out of use (plants covering the entirety of the drive) the owners would put angrily worded notes on windscreens of cars parked out the front of their house. I was the recipient of one of these notes a couple of years ago, and as a considerate neighbour, took it upon myself to never park next to the dropped kerb again, but also to make sure that there wasn’t space for anyone else to do so by parking up to the dropped section when possible.

Unfortunately for the owners, that also precluded the parking of their two Skoda Octavias directly outside their property. The entrance to their drive was clear, but they chose not to park on it. And that’s the point I was trying to make to them. Where drives are used then they are respected (especially when building work is going on, as is currently happening a few doors up). But they considered the dropped kerb to simply maintain a privileged parking position on the road for themselves.

It didn’t help that these neighbours were general twunts. For example, they’d bring their caravan out of storage and put it on the road a couple of weeks before going away, hitch up one car and take 15m of parking (and not over their drive I might add). This was never a problem with other residents including myself, but when I cheerily enquired if they were going anywhere nice, they blanked me and scuttled indoors.

Thankfully they’ve since moved and the new owners are very pleasant.

2016 model, Conti Sport Contact 37mm tyres, SKS P45s and a rack.

I like it. It’s not perfect, but considering they’re £700-900 depending on when you buy (or less on CTW) I struggle to fault it. This was taken on a tour around Brittany last year.

Oh, I can fault one bit – the saddle! Numb nuts!

Some good info there, thanks. As it’s a Ride Sheffield spot I guess they already have links with the WT so probably best to go through them.

I believe there are signs already in place, and I also believe the entrance to the woods directly opposite the car park is a bridleway (as is the track to the top of Steel City DH and DH3). The motorbikes used both of these trails.

Not having a go at MX’s though – unfortunately they do gets bounced elsewhere more than anyone else.

I do feel a little compassion for them – I understand these woods may well have been their playground well before the MTB trails were made official. However the local riding community has invested a lot of time and money in getting them put in and kept up to standard, and the actions of these few MXers will require many more hours and pounds to be spent or even cause the trails to be shut if the local horse riders kick up enough fuss.

If they had got a community together and invested in their own trails, then I’d hope the local MTBers would respect them and not dig them up/put unnecessary strain on relationships with other user groups.

Very good suggestion, I bet they do drive a van up there but park up the road rather than in the main car park.

I’ll have a drive up and down next time to have a look for them.
