Thanks Epsom seems to appeal as it is not too small – i’d like some sort of nightlife.

richmond – you can then train in.

I drove into near heathrow each day and it can be a nightmare – 5 hours plus on a wet November morning for a 20K journey.

Pendulum, Arctic Monkeys both 10 years old and could sell out a stadium?

Depeche Mode and The Cure still sell out stadiums in Europe and Muse sold out the San Siro last year.

Here in Switzerland it is quite normal to tail gate – they call it the ‘wind-shadow’. The do it in cities and out on the trail, roads etc. Even the lazy lumps on the electric bikes do it.

I find it rude and dangerous as others have said especially when being followed at high speed by a big electric bike. I have had to break for kids and been narrowly avoided been mowed down by the following bike.

Hmm not so sure – i have one but barely use it. I prefer my little netbook with extra memory installed. The Ipad is more of a toy for me but the laptop has a lid.

I bike home only as i put the bike on the train on the way in. Live in Switzerland so they have vast carriages for bike here.
Agree with mk1fan mine seems to be like that. It is probably inherited too as my mother has it.
The reality is Benecol will not get it down – it is now pills.

I was arriving of the Venice to Rome train with gf and saw it unfolding on a TV in the hotel foyer. We thought it was a film and had to call home to confirm it was real.
Later on went to Vatican Square and there was so few people there..very eerie.

I always thought somewhere like Auschwitz, the Somme or Cannae would be very haunted places due to the carnage and death there?

Well I have practised going to the pool and then riding back – no problem there so far. But as jam bo mentions maybe its the sudden transition I need to look at.

I eagerly await the lifestyle expert!

The more i read about it the less certain i know what the proper term is – I get wobbly legs if i am at above a certain height.
I know it mainly caused by being more exposed and it tends to be more severe at certain times than others. Living in Switzerland there are lots of places here which can make bring it on. I have tried aversion therapy by hiking up mountains but if i get to a narrow point or a drop i have to turn all the way back. Which is a real pain as i hate coming all the way down when i nice gondola will do.
The odd thing is i wacked my head when a teenager and since then it started – before then i was not affected at all. Weird lobotomy

I have always hated flying too but this got worse when i was in an aborted landing at Heathrow and this is not helped by the fact i also hate heights.
I no longer take anything for it, as some have said this is a short term fix. Last time i came into Heathrow we came into a giant thunderstorm over Brighton and South London and the plane jumped all over the place. But as i landed i noticed a line of planes all coming through the same storm and none of them crashed – because it is so rare
I also fly over once a month and if i did not conquer the fear i would not be able to go anywhere.

I have the Pompetamine 11 speed alfine gizmo. It arrived just last week and I’ve had my ride today and I really like it. The hub gear takes a bit of getting used to but it works really well. Love the SLX brakes very powerful. Slightly odd when turning into fast corners but that might be because i am used to 26″ wheels.

    Beautiful looking thing though.

Gonna try it out on some big hills on Sunday.

Like others said: my MTB would have been good. But if i turned this around and asked what pastimes i’d like now, it would still be a football and my mates i kicked around with when i was a kid.

Grew up in Reading. Great place and good pubs – you just need to know where its at. Also very handy for the airport (1 hour), south coast, can even make quick dashes to the quantocks south Wales etc.

Had a virus I could not sweep so last resort was to back everything up and format the hard drive.
Laptop runs far better now and I have got rid of all the programmes and files I never use.
