I personnally think the course looks pretty good compared to some of the world cup races that I have watched in the past. Yes it may be short but that will make it better for the spectator and the television viewer. Video footage will also be more varied as I imagine you will get overhead footage along with your usual ground cameras.

Have you considered the new cedric gracia tyre xc tyre I have been very impressed with mine so far saying that I have only used it for a week but its done about 85 mile and has superb grip and excellent rolling resistance in all conditions so far used in both wet and dry conditions

You not fancy an alpine I noticed one in my lbs in newcastle for sale the other day for £2000 quite a saving off the 2800 rrp and normally gets tested in the same cat as the spicy

Ride cross country loop at innerleithen if you got time. When riding Glentress I generally ride the black then join the red after dunslair heights and complete spooky wood, super g and hit squad hill cycle back up a fireroad and do betty blue and rejoin the black just before deliverance. Its easy to follow from the trail map

Its awesome. I agree with coolhandluke when riding the xc loop include make or brake downhill run. Climb is a bit of a pain but worth the descent. I find the downhill runs quite difficult but im a bit of a wimp lol

For the money its worth it. I prefer the camelbak bladder but you pay nearly £20 for the bladder alone. The tools are useful and do the job and you get a chest strap to secure in place

lapierre Spicy 516 or a trek remedy 8 both have talas forks so you can steepen the head angle when pedalling up but have nice slack angles for coming back down. I own the Trek remedy 8 and it climbs remarkably well for a 6 inch travel bike due its dual rate control valve at the back but is still a hoot downhill.

Ayup v4 adventurer kit I found mine awesome comes with both head and bar lights which you can select the beam pattern on when ordering, 2 3 hour batteries and one 6 hour battery all mounts hard case to transport and store in.

I got no problem in my wrists just my fingers. The forks are air and running about 30% sag I run them quite soft.

I got 1 finger on levers and they are setup in same position as all my previous bikes. The only thing that is really different is my grips but dont think they will make that big of a difference

And if you check the orange website they have a demo blood up for sale in green with the upgraded fork and colour coordinated wheels looks very nice. Also an alpine going cheap in your size

I would of been seriously interested in your bike if it had been larger as im 6 foot 2. If your building a cotic up for trail and xc would you not be better considering something like the blood instead of the alpine or even try and pick up a a couple of year old patriot. They have a more downhill/freeride bias but can still be pedalled uphill my mate rides his patriot everywhere he says its well worth the effort just for its quality on the downs and can easily handle any downhill course

Either way you cant go wrong with altura or endura no matter what clothing is being reviewed they both always score well and always win best value awards lot of bang for your buck

Why not just upgrade your forks on your five to a set of 160's and get a maxle swing arm for the rear basically making it more like the orange five am might save you a few pennnies im sure you can get the maxle swingarm for about £100 and a new set of forks would be greatly offset by selling your old ones
