If you use sintered pads you will be ok we used the same pads for 6 days of riding in total about 230km of riding and the pads still going strong now after a few rides back in UK.

Its easily rideable in a day if you struggling for time make sure you do the morzine-les get-morzine bit last as I remember the pleney lift is open till 1730 where a lot of the other lifts close 1630 or 1700

More rooty than rocky. Some nice flowy sections on the red now section 13, transmission and accelerator. Ripon aint that far from Hamsterley so give it a go. There is a fair bit of hidden stuff if you can get someone to show you.

Personnally I dont feel the differnce between the two and for the riding your doing I dont think you will either. Looking at test results you only start feeling the difference when hitting stuff at higher speeds in excess of 25mph even then its only when cornering and larger rock gardens. I think a lot of it is mental as I changed to 15mm and thought it was stiffer but then a few weeks later jumper back on a bike with QR and couldnt tell the difference

Very nice but my preference would be white saddle and handlebars

Picked my new five up today and rode ti for the 1st time didnt climb as well as my remedy 8 but was so much more fun on the down its great for just flicking the back end around. Test rode a Zesty at the start of the year found it climbed amazing but it didnt seem as chuckable as the five but still descended well. Can’t comment on the specialized. When your looking at that price range would you not be better off considering the stumpy evo

Try and get an ex demo five I just managed to get one for 1700 from alpine bikes you can then sell the components and send frame to orange for your custom paint job. That should save you loads.

Tyres generally can save a fair bit of weight and the weight saving is down below where it matter I find Schwalbe tyres to be lighest in general. As previous posted consider dropping 1 or 2 chainrings at the front. I cut my seatpost aswell as I found it way too long few grams saved no cost

Beware I bought my wife a Specialized Myka to start off with and she loved it. 2 month later went to a demo day and decided she wanted to demo things aswell ended up costing me over £2k for a lapierre zesty female version because she decided she hated her bike after riding that. So keep her away from the good stuff

All mountain riding not into massive drops and boulder gardens but dont want to do too much pedaling. Ours bikes are a Lapierre froggy and trek remedy

You would probably have a lot of the better riders travelling back from mega avalanche or racing in the mountain of hell race.

Noby nic on front and racing ralph on rear normally what I ride there. depends on the trails there using if they stop to the manmade its a good setup. If there is natural stages it may be a little muddy as the ground holds the water

I may be wrong but im sure they do a 30 day no quibble return policy even if it has been ridden. If you search through this forum there was somebody decided they didnt like the bike they ordered and swopped for differnet model and by the sounds of it it was hassle free. Give the Canyon customer service centre a ring they are in the uk and are meant to be very helpful. I would personnaly go for the nerve xc 9 over the xc8 just for the bling factor and you feel like your getting an even bigger bargain.

I got a 53 plate 2.0 diesel and love it. With careful loading you can 3 bikes, 3 people and a weeks camping gear which we have done several times guy in the back does get a bit squashed with all this in mind. Fuel 45mpg. Only downside for me is no air con but otherwise excellent car for purpose

Dales biking centre in reeth is very good nice little bunkhouse and the staff are first class and the riding round there is ideal for hardtails
