I have suggested this option, not ideal, but what would it involve? Would it just be the case of running an ethernet cable from office to house?

Put simply, yes. Just get a long enough cable (I got a 20m one for about a fiver on eBay which was of good quality) and run it across.

I apologise profusely for using the incorrect terminology SkillWill.

Do you or do you not have a big stick up your backside?

Wired has a good analysis of whether the video is fake or not:

Personally I think it’s a big fat fake.

At least he hadn’t already bought his lift ticket as that would’ve made it an even more costly accident!

comes in a really cool wooden crate though!

It doesn’t really sound like it’s worth the extra £5-6k to me however, the more important question is did they let you keep the wooden crate? If so, what is it being used for now?

Gas companies do actually require permission to access a private property. If for instance, someone runs up debts and doesn’t pay and also won’t allow the gas company access to remove the meter then they can apply for a warrant in court to access the property with a locksmith without prior warning to get the meter out.

Oh and if you were to go for some Evisu jeans do NOT get them of eBay as 99% of the pairs for sale on there are fake. (and 82% of all statistics are false)

A couple of good websites are:

Brown Bag Clothing
and
Yoox

Well Diesel is a fashion brand so expect them to be expensive but not worth the cost. Evisu on the other hand make denim as it used to be made years ago i.e. well. It wears well, is as tough as anything and looks good to boot, all thanks to the old school production methods they use. When they started up back in 1991 they had to source production machinery that hadn’t been made for over forty years and the owner’s favourite things are listed as money, fishing, beer, women and golf. If you can’t trust jeans with a heritage like that and an owner who has his life priorities right (bar the obvious lack of cycling) then which jeans can you trust?!

It sounds like the friendliness part of your personality could do with an upgrade to be honest with you. What ever happened to politeness and common courtesy? I mean come on, she’s only trying to make a living!

I shouldn’t imagine that you’d want to pay more than a fiver for a piss-illuminating torch so the one above should fit the bill.

If you want something a bit more powerful then you could try the link below, although I imagine that the price will make your eyes water even more than the stench of cat piss!

Has anyone actually read the news article at the start of the thread? No? Well it says “after he crashed his McLaren F1 super car which caught fire.” This would allude to the fact that he didn’t crash because of a patch of diesel, nor did he crash because someone/something ran out in front of him. I’m sorry but if I was him, I’d be suing McLaren for the damage to the car, whiplash, the shoulder injury and the mental trauma caused by the crash as it’s just not acceptable for a supercar to set on fire now, is it?

From Businesslink.gov.uk:

“The minimum statutory notice period which must be given by an employee is at least one week’s notice if employed continuously for one month or more by that employer. This minimum is unaffected by longer service.”

“Right to waiver
Employers and employees can both waive their right to notice – even though they cannot contract out of the legal minimum period.”

So you only legally have to give one week’s notice whatever it says in your contract of employment. Whether your boss is allowed to increase it as and when they see fit, I do not know but as you only have to give a week legally I wouldn’t worry about it.

Whilst I feel woefully inept at the task of providing you with a suitable book to peruse whilst off your feet, I can wholeheartedly recommend this bit of tipple to you and I hope that it may complement the array of literary gems that other people have listed above:

I live in Sale, about 10 meters from the Sale/Timperley boundary. I often wonder if any of the neon coloured clothing clad people I see on my morning commute are STW-ers and it seems that this may be the case!

Travel Zoo Has really cheap last minute deals all over and does flights/hotels etc separately too.

If that doesn’t float your boat, you could just Google the likes of Easyjet, Ryanair, Jet2 and BMI Baby and see who’s cheapest.

You could contact a removals/storage company and ask how much they would charge to pick it up and store it for you until you get back.
