I have one that you can use if you want, just PM me your address.

Oh, and the postage costs come to £3.99.

Sarcasm aside though, they’re very easy indeed to disassemble. You just give the dock connector a pull and it’ll snap straight off the cable.

I would’ve just gone to the pub and paid £3 for a pint whilst watching the game. You get a much better atmosphere in a pub too…unless it’s a fighty type establishment. Then you’d just get fights.

There’s been a good amount of input on this thread today! Thanks for everyone’s advice and for showing that lots of people on STW do actually ride their bikes and aren’t just keyboard warriors that drive everywhere and can’t trackstand!

simonjf63 – How do you find the traffic on Washway? I know it’s busy as hell but do you feel in danger at all? I walked down the canal a couple of days ago and after the torrential rain of late, some sections have been reduced to deep muddy puddles spanning the entire width of the tow path.
I think I’ve got an excuse to buy some new waterproofs and panniers. In fact, I think I’ll get a new bike too as my current commuter is a Chinese special that’s too small for me and it doesn’t even have mountings for a bottle holder.

Edit – I was thinking about what to do about the traffic before (drivers paying no attention to you or not giving you enough room mainly) and after looking on the web I managed to find a well thought out tabard that people on other forums have said has proven useful to them. As below:

Haha Marin_Maketh_The_Man – It was summer time when I went down that section of the tow path last and I remember there not being much room at all to get past, especially when you meet people coming the other way who are also on bikes. I always take a towel with me when I ride to work in case of heavy showers so I just need waterproof panniers and I’ll be sorted!

    binners –

Thanks for telling me about that route! I have been down there a couple of times on my bike before but it hadn’t even came to mind whilst I was thinking about getting to work. Do you know whether the section of tow path once you cross over the bridge has been resurfaced recently as the last time I went down it I nearly went in the canal. (one time was due to a rather angry swan blocking my path that nearly had my gonads off!)

Oh and Nicko74 – I absolutely filled my pants at some of the jumpy moments in Dead Space! Good game though and I got through it without having a heart attack so it’s ok.

Bioshock 1 & 2 are wicked games and can be got for £4 each inc. P&P off eBay. Metro 2033 is also a great game and will set you back about the same amount of moolah.

I actually played Bioshock when it first came out and I’d say it was worth the £39.99 price tag that it had so for a few quid it’s a bargain!

Put a marigold on your hand, push on the bulb with your fingers and twist your wrist in a circular motion to remove.

Did anyone see Our Crime: Riot on one of the BBC channels the other night? It was filmed using footage recorded by bystanders during the riots and it gives a whole host of viewpoints on what happened.

If anyone wants to watch it, it’s on iPlayer.

    Linky[/url]

In the programme a girl gets a ten year sentence for stealing a pair of shoes from a shop, or rather walking out with an odd pair after picking them up before discarding them.

When you think of the length of other sentences handed out for relatively petty crimes during the riots, 11.5 years for burning down a business hardly seems long enough IMO.

Note to all people who struggle with opening carrier bags:

Breathe on your thumb & index finger of right/left hand (choose as appropriate) then place said thumb & finger on either side of the carrier bag opening and rub together, thereby opening the bag up.

If it doesn’t work first time try it again, this time hastening the moving of your hand from mouth to bag.

If it still doesn’t work then I’m guessing you have an IQ of two or there about.

I wouldn’t worry if I was you. Freedom of speech is obviously alive and well as people like these idiots:

…can go around saying whatever they want and not get arrested.

Haha! Brilliant things listed here so far! My favourite has to be the two ton, ten foot long saw though, I mean just how do you plan on getting it to you? I imagine postage would cost more than the actual item did! Helicopter transport?

Oh and alpin – Used girls knickers? 😯 Each to their own I suppose!

There’s nothing better at making a hangover worse than realising you’ve spent nearly a grand on eBay when you’re unemployed and have little more than that left in your savings 😐

A Canon 600D with 18-15mm & 55-250mm lenses. I had an attempt at getting into photography a few years back now but I started in the middle of winter and didn’t get out enough to make it worthwhile so I ended up selling it (my previous camera was a Nikon D90x)

Try unplugging everything that you can find in the house and turn off whatever isn’t unpluggable, then try using the EOP adapters and see if it works then. If so, it’s a power load issue. If not, it isn’t and I’d try other EOP adapters if he really doesn’t want Cat-5 laying.

Oh, and it drives me nuts too when something should just work and it doesn’t for an unbeknown reason!

Am I allowed to mention methods of downloading apps for free? If not, I’m sure you know all about it anyway. That’s the best thing about jailbreaking an iPhone, being able to deprive programmers and app creators of money whilst saving yourself pennies in the process.

    What’s not to like?

That’s all true and good but I’ve been heating up plates in my microwave at home for ages now and it’s yet to overheat.

If it’s at work and it’s not your microwave then there’s no harm in trying it 😉

Do you mean the fact that everything on his CV is a lie? Like the fact that he’s never worked for the engineering company listed on his CV, nor has he ever attended the university listed on his CV.

Add to all his lies the small issue of his video footage being of dubious quality and you can see why people think it’s a fake can’t you?

Put the mug in a microwave (if you have one available) for 1.5 minutes whilst the kettle is boiling (based on an 800w microwave) and you should have a mug that’s hot enough to help your tea retain heat for longer whilst not being too hot to burn your hand.

You could also put a small saucer over the top of your mug which should help to retain the heat for longer. (once the boiling water has been put in obviously)

If your internet connection comes into your property at your office which is 50m from your house then could you not have a wireless N+ router in your office? This would give you wifi coverage over your whole house (unless it’s mansion sized) and you could connect the bridge to it in order to provide a connection to your Sonos, therefore ridding you of the need to use EOP.
