Works the other way also. NHS patients are being Treated in Private Hospitals for example, due to the ever increasing waiting lists.
Using myself for example, routine Hernia surgery i had to wait over the 18 week maximum waiting list target for my local Hospital and was therefore, re booked into a BMI hospital. From seeing the GP to having the actual Op took 2 weeks.
You just have to ask for this service to see if your local NHS offers it.
bwfc4eva868Free MemberLeave the NHS alone i say. It works to some degree. What does need reforming is the amount of useless paperwork, that your expected to fill out to make the desk jockeys happy.
We are very lucky to have free healthcare in this country, some people don’t realise how much some procedures that they are getting for free under the NHS costs if you were to pay for them.
Hernia surgery for example, that will be £7,000 a route Cystoscopy will set you back £1000. Dressing for said Hernia a box of 10 that will cost you £20. TTO’s from Hospital are free so you get away with Prescription charges.
What does need reforming, is better staffing levels, stop spunking money on Agency staff. Get RGN’s, Doctors and Health Care Assistants into the wards. RGN’s etc on long term sick mostly due to stress of running wards on bare bones staff. That needs addressing.
Also, more incentive for student nurses to do the training and get the understaffed wards filled. How is a Trainee Nurse expected to train on £200 a month. Which involves 40 hours a week in Uni and 40 hour weeks on a Hospital ward. They are supposed to be Supernumery, but are used to make up the numbers.
Make it more picky and get it back to the way it used to be 100 places per year and get them on a Band 3 Salary and bring back the Nursing Schools.
bwfc4eva868Free Memberaccuweather is pretty much to the dot for me. Only ever made one cock up, said it was snowing, when actually it was raining.
bwfc4eva868Free MemberStill mixing proper tho with Digital. The thing i miss about Vinyl, is you can feel where the kick drum is easy and ride the pitch. And its easy to see where each element of the track is on a vinyl. However i can still do this by looking at the soundwave on the laptop with Traktor. And can still do a 5 min mix. I love Trance for that reason as you can mix it forever.
bwfc4eva868Free MemberI have the S4 and its a cracking piece of kit really as does everything my Turntables did and more. I do miss Vinyl tho. But then again, i don’t miss paying £9 a time when I can just use beatport and get tracks for £1.19.
bwfc4eva868Free MemberFiestas are really expensive for me,even more than Astras. Cheapesr is seicento then Micra followed by a Yaris and Corsa. This with co op and having my driving monitored for a year. With 1 years ncb next year it drops to below £700. Got my mum as a additional driver on all quotes. I live in a BL2 post code which is a lovely area Harwood, vut Breightmet webbed feet and dualing banjo estate is a dump and full of crime.
bwfc4eva868Free Memberhaha Got 8 months to go yet! So get it all in while i can.
bwfc4eva868Free MemberI don’t understand how my insurance is so steep. £1800 for a 1.6 Astra. Girlfriend is paying £1000 and she is only 23. You’d think, being 26 it’d be cheaper.
bwfc4eva868Free MemberHave to have a shop around. One thing that scares me is the bikes will have to go. Can’t afford to have both. And in summer it will annoy me. Although saying that, i seem to be more into my mountain biking nowadays and Gisburn is a 30 min drive from work. So could go for a hour after work.
May have a look at Astra, my Dad has had them for years. And its been very reliable. He’s had the 1.4’s, 1.6’s and the 2.0 litre diesels and now has a 09 plate VXR and its a cracking drive. Bit plasticy inside but seem good cars.
bwfc4eva868Free MemberAye its daft! It really makes me consider is it really worth having two cars. I mean I live 10 miles from work. Same for her. Bikes are used everyday apart from Icy conditions and snow. So maybe a month max of none use. For every other time the bikes uber reliable and epic Fuel Economy £27 to fill up and gets me 300 miles so about 85 to 90 mpg. Insurance is £150 for the 250cc and 600cc and its £89 my renewal this year.
bwfc4eva868Free MemberTried lots of boring old fart cars and their £1600 plus as I’ll be paying monthly. Cheapest is Fiat Cinq and Vauxhall Corsa.
Its £900 with CO- OP young driver insurance, with a gps box fitted or £1300 with 1st Central using Quidco.
bwfc4eva868Free MemberNot a massive budget. Talking max of a £1000 been offered a 1.6 Vectra which is 4 door with hatchback boot. Not done a insurance quote on that tho yet.
bwfc4eva868Free MemberAye, not so fussed about looks just want reliable and cheap. Would much prefer to keep my motorbike. But I’m getting too annoyed with waiting for public transport when the winter weather sets in. Not what you want after a 14 hour shift.
Do they do 4 door micras, i have seen Corsas in 5 door vareity. Although saying that, i manged to get my Mountain bike in the missus Fiat easy enough, just took the wheels off and it slotted in nicely. No Innuendo intended!
bwfc4eva868Free Member– 5 in Harwood according to the phone weather app. Crunchy trails in the local woods 🙂

I use this almost everyday. Some of them are complete dicks but their is some good advice.
And quality little bikes CG’s, get your test passed and move onto something you fancy. The CG is loved on that forum, so you won’t get ripped.
bwfc4eva868Free MemberShould be able get it cheaper than that. Same car 0 NCB living in Bolton and 26 year old. £1249 and thats monthly payments or £900 for all in one go.
Used Money supermarket comparison website.
bwfc4eva868Free MemberWould you not keep your 1210’s and get a Digital Vinyl System? Something Like Traktor or Serato? I still like the control of the vinyl, but have moved with the times and gone digital. I now have a Traktor Kontrol and its a fantastic piece of kit. Feels solid and have never let me down.
http://www.djstore.com/item/usbcontrollers/nattraktorkontrols4.htm
I also do keep one Turntable in use as i sometimes throw in a old Trance Track on vinyl.
If you really don’t wanna part with your Tech’s I’d consider a DVS system, i swear by Traktor, its fantastic software and the controllers are quality to.
bwfc4eva868Free MemberPrefer this stuff http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zda4PqP4U1Q
And also a bit slower and more emotional.
bwfc4eva868Free MemberStupid question, but where are you all shoving the batteries when its mounted to your helmet? As i have a Magicshine for my bars but fancy a light for my Helmet.
bwfc4eva868Free MemberThere are benefits of passing your full test, the main one being the option if you do want it, you can ride any bigger bike. Also my Insurance when i had my 125 went from £400 on a provisional down to £176 with a full license.
Also if you want fuel economy their are bikes like the Kawasaki ER5, Honda CB500 and Suzuki GS500 which you will do your DAS on, which offer up to 80 mpg. Even on my 600 i get 40 mpg when i attempt to thrash it.
Honda are also bringing out the NCX 700 which returns good fuel economy.
Shop around for DAS prices. I used a company called Williams in Bolton, was 2.5 days training and test fee and that cost me £350.
I don’t think you’d need more than 3 days, if you have the road sense thats half the battle, just need to learn clutch control on a bigger bike.
bwfc4eva868Free MemberWorking on a EMI unit at a Nursing home. Their all asleep and we just check their alive every two hours. Get the ones who are awake dressed from 0600 onwards. Watching crap on telly at the moment.
bwfc4eva868Free MemberGot to agree with Zokes earlier in regards to Vinyl. I have finally had to make the switch from Vinyl records to using mp3’s for DJ’ing. Luckily i still have the control using a vinyl, but they are timecode ones and involves the laptop being connected to my turntables.
Still sounds good tho 🙂
bwfc4eva868Free MemberYeah i couldn’t be arsed with sitting in traffic. I like being in cars as a passenger, but just don’t see myself driving a car. It just doesn’t excite me. And to get a exciting car, you sacrifice fuel economy and have massive insurance costs. I’d love a Audi RS4, but then i think, where apart from a track day would i get to use its power.
Whereas on a bike, cars are dispatched with ease. Even on my 250, i can demolish pretty much most cars off the lights.
bwfc4eva868Free MemberNo but I don’t like riding the 600 on commutes as its really jerky through town riding. I was thinking of either getting a car or chopping them both in and getting a V twin or a VFR750/800.
Insurance quotes are with Mum as named driver on the policy. Only cheap way is to put her as main driver and me as second. But thats fronting and she’d have to put all her no claims on my policy and have zero on her Audi, which she already pays £800 a year on.
Just wondering, what am i actually missing out on with cars? Yes i am warmer, but £1600 to sit in traffic. I had a lift of girlfriend to mine a few weeks back, and setting off from my work at 0800 to Harwood in Bolton (12 miles) it took an hour, on the bike it takes me 25 mins, as i just filter past the traffic.
bwfc4eva868Free MemberForgot to reply because i’m silly! Went up early Friday morning. Was a nice run out to be honest. Was just blowing out of my arse by the mast as I’d not been on the bike for a while.
Also did it again monday evening and then ended up at No Name pub in Harwood for a few pints :)off now till saturday, so get to have a blast out.
Don’t know wether to go up again or have a look round Enty, is there anything mildly interesting there? Only ever done it at ight on the path round the res. Even tho I’ve live in the area for 26 years, I’m still exploring by bike and wondering what i can ride and what not.
Any suggestions?
bwfc4eva868Free MemberDoes this on my motorbike if its been wet and the temp drops. A quick smack with a hammer on the caliper and the pistons are back to working normally.
bwfc4eva868Free MemberI might get over the nab also if my lungs survive. Any idea of a Route from the Belmont side of the hill?
bwfc4eva868Free MemberBacon gives you cancer,Smoking will give me cancer, alcohol will give me cancer. Smelling someones disgusting flatulence will give me Cancer. Well to be honest, i’d rather go through life eating what i want, drinking what i want, exercising as much as i see fit and smoking as much as i want. Its my life, i will determine what happens in it.
I’d much rather die suddenley than end up as a resident in my place of work (Nursing home) not knowing what day of the week it is and pissing my pants. No thank you.
bwfc4eva868Free MemberRivington if lowey grants me permission! Start at 0600 before the walking knobs arrive.
bwfc4eva868Free MemberThink its 1 hour before for domestic flights. However bearing in mind its a early evening departure at peak time for the airport id be inclined to get there 2 hours before. As Manchesters security is known for being slow as shite.
We were flying to Greece back in September for a 20:10 departure so arrived at the Airport for 17:00, took an hour to check in a massive 180 passengers, 40 mins to get through security. Had to rush down a Burger King, quick ciggie and then run to the gate, no time to get a Alcoholic bevvie.
bwfc4eva868Free MemberI like Baths after a long ride and good old read of a book with a can of beer. Can’t really do that in a shower. I have to have the shower scalding hot tho.
bwfc4eva868Free MemberCheers mate. And I’ll ask now before i go out. “Please can i have a run out on your land” I’ll let you on mine the Jumbles area!
Been reading your blog also, very funny. Don’t think your that far from me. I’m in Harwood.
I’ll take it easy on San Marino as I’ve never rode down it, only ever walked up it.
bwfc4eva868Free MemberYeah I’m fairly local in Harwood area. I usually ride up from Longsight Park in Harwood, follow the route of Bradshaw Brook, up through the Jumbles through Turton bottoms towards the wayoh. Then take embankment road from the Wayoh up to Entwistle Res or if its quiet towards the duck and down to Enty.
Would like to do the route from Harwood through Dunscar and up winter hill near San Marino’s if possible.
Would love to come on a ride on Wednesday night when im not working if its possible?
bwfc4eva868Free MemberI have a 250cc Motorbike its costs about £20 to fill up and i get about 260 miles to the tank. I usually just commute between Bolton and Blackburn on it and the odd ride out now and again.
Don’t really go on many long ride outs like i used to as I can’t justify the cost of filling up to piss it all away just for the sake of a thrash.
I think if it got to the £2 mark then id really have to consider not going on any rides and just commuting. Girlfriend has a Small Fiat Cinquecento and she puts about £40 a month in which lasts all month including random journeys.
bwfc4eva868Free MemberSounds like Prostaitis which i currently have a course of antibiotics for 4 weeks and it should be sorted. Worst case is a rigid cystoscopy and a scrape of your prostate to get rid of the infected skin.
bwfc4eva868Free Member2000 till 0800. Normal Hours hours are 36 a week if I’m not at Uni or just 11 to 16 if Iam.
Work in a Nursing Home
bwfc4eva868Free MemberI passed just last yea. Im 25 and drive a Fiat Seicento 900cc box. Costs me £1400 fully comp to insure with 1st central. Admiral are also quite xheap for younger drivers but you need to ring up for a pay monthly price. Alot cheaper to insure my motorbike tho. £107 comp on a Hyo GT250R
bwfc4eva868Free MemberI’m planning on Sunday being my Quit day. Going to do it cold Turkey as its pointless prolonging the agony. Not been a smoker long about 7 years on 20 to 30 a day. Defo beginning to feel its affects now. Had a chest infection for 4 weeks now and i know the smoking is not helping me recover.
Will save me a load of money also.
bwfc4eva868Free MemberAt work i fart freely as i work nights and we are a special breed! Have accidentally done one in a nightclub and blamed it on someone else.
However all other area’s i keep it in unless I’m alone.
bwfc4eva868Free MemberThis thread is inspiring me to have a bash again. I keep getting to the magic 3 month mark and then something or someone at work winds me up and I’m back on them.
Really do need to give up tho, smoking and Hypertension aren’t a good combination.
