Granted the ROE in Afghanistan has been ridiculous…

In these enlightened times, we forget what war should entail…the wholesale slaughter of the ‘them’ what oppose ‘us’.

Too much fannying about worrying about the innocent and not using the full capability of the arsenal at our disposal to kill every last mummy-boinking one of them.

Eh, the Russians didn’t give a damn about civilian casualties and we did a damn sight better job at the whole sale slaughter of insurgents that them.

Don’t underestimate the power of 21st century FLIR linked to a 30mm chain gun.

Glad people like you arn’t in control of military ops……the quote about making others die for their country isn’t applicable here…those people effectively don’t exist……there’s no conventional army to kill…. the idea of counter insurgency isn’t to eradicate an opposing enemy…..because you’re chasing ghosts most of the time…..it’s to make the conditions in whatever country and the people who inhabit it opposed to the insurgency….. insurgencies do not work if they don’t have the support of the people.

The problem is that AQ often operate from and find shelter just over the border in Pakistan….which is out of our remit.

Well, I did know a girl called Dorothy who went by the name Megan as that name is so hilariously bad. I don’t blame her.

    I know what I’d prefer.

    a) 1.2km of trail for grown ups to play at bicycles on.

    or

    b) a source of power that is environmentally friendly, reduces our dependence on fossil fuels and will go some way toward cleaning up the mess that the baby boomer generation has made for my generation to live in.

Yes, it would definitely be 1.2km of trail

What, as opposed to a nice green nuclear plant – which can power hundreds of times the area at a hundreds of times smaller physical footprint? Instead of something idiot hippies thought up?

10 quid partly cynical partly humorous bet says that Wind farms will end up contributing to global warming fairly significantly and If you don’t get why look up the theory.

    Work will set you free.

We used to have a completely psycho middle aged female German teacher at school… who would come in dressed in black leather jackets, black high heels, black scarf, black trousers etc….and scream at pupils in German like Adolf Hitler. Total slave driver as well, she’d march up and down the class like a drill instructor.

We put a plaque over the entry to her office that read “Arbeit Macht Frei”. She totally deserved that little bit of casual racism for dressing like an extra from a 1970’s Nazi exploitation film.

Somehow I got away with telling her to go **** herself, answering every one of her German language questions with an offensive or sarcastic response (in German) and going truant during every German lesson – the school finally gave up and I just went to the band room to play the piano during her lessons. Truly hated her.

    Good times.

I hope so! Some characters need to die.

I quite like all the surviving characters….Lori’s death leaves no one left that really boils my piss. Carls a bit of an annoying shit but I quite like Daryl, Herschel, Carol, Rick, Glenn, Maggie, Michone etc.

Edit: Scratch that, Andrea needs to die. Forgot about her – traitorous idiot.

The Cockapoo puppy…aka the fluffy terror. I win cutest puppy award. Also, I taught her to sit, lie and roll on command at 12 weeks and she was fully house trained by 11 weeks. Epic dog. Next trick is to play dead when I make a finger gun and say “bang”.

    Wet puppy!

So my wife and I are both dull and lacking in curiosity – its amazing what we learn on a daily basis

Although according to science you’re more likely to be sociopaths! :P

Before you met, no. After, almost certainly.

I’d actually be pretty proud of that!

Lots of information about people’s interests are viewable on Facebook so they have a lot to go on to form a profile.

    Yeah.

Still, I’m pretty impressed they came up with an algorithm that can tell whether you’re gay or not by the tv shows and movies you like

The only uses for a chronograph on a regular basis are practically all military or aviation related.

Therefore my point stands, it doesn’t even have to say “commando” on it.

Just to upset the anti-snobs, anyone know what Clarkson had on last night, it looked lovely, black leather strap and simple face?

Probably something made from the tears of child blood diamond miners, with a strap made out of a critically endangered lizard.

The only people that need expensive chronographs/diving watches are fighter pilots, civilian/combat divers, special forces types and astronauts. And preferably those who sport 1970’s b-movie porn mustaches, so that counts Bear Grylls out in all his flaming queen metroness.

If you’re not one of these you’re a watch walt.

Mark Weir has plenty of factory frames to replace his bike with when he snaps it.

And access to factory tunes to balance the bike out and perhaps even custom geometry one offs to get the BB height back down.

    The fox 32 150mm has an axle to crown of 525mm…..the Lyrik 160 has a 545 axle to crown….whilst the 170 was a 555.

You’d be adding 30mm of fork height on to the bike! That’s gonna do some serious shit to the BB height and put way more forces through the headtube!

    bwaarp
    Free Member

Seriously though, isn’t a 170mm front 140 rear going to be massively unbalanced?

Bikes ride much nicer when both ends feel the same. Not to mention whether the frame can actually cope with the kind of abuse that you’d throw at a Mega, Spicy, Nomad, Enduro Evo etc.

Ill place a bet that either running to long forks coupled with a slack head angle will snap the headtube….or you’ll snap the chainstays coming off a large drop.

You can go up to 174mm of travel, but I would keep it at 170 and no more,

    Two reasons

    1) It’s going to rake the bike out ridiculously.

    2) The taller it gets the flexier it will get.

    3) You can’t get the lovely Avy damper in a 174mm model.

180mm single crowns are awful monsters.

Distance selling act, you have 7 days to send it back….after you receive it to get your money back with no questions asked. I’d suggest you do that and get the right bike for the right job Paul.

Angle sets come with their own problems eg horrible knocking etc

I’ve got no idea about the dimensions, sorry man – except that it should be 10mm long I think.

Not for me thanks, not a fan of the Nomad and already spent up. Bought most of the bits needed to sort the Jekyll out – stronger wheels, Lyriks, wider bars, bashguard, Saint brakes. Just need a dropper and an angleset and it’ll be sorted.

Man, you might as well have just bought the right frame in the first place. A Mega with an air shock and coil shock, with coiled lyriks would have been a much smaller headache. Then you can still ride when the air shock invariably blows a seal and has to go in for a service. You can even service Monarchs yourself but I doubt you could with that complicated shock! It would have had the right geometry out the box and the frame is lighter!

    bwaarp

The seals will go one day. I guess you can always replace the shock though.

The geo isn’t so cut out for DH as the mega either (68 degree head angle etc) – but I guess at that price it’s a decent buy.

Does that mean the population will decrease to free up space?

Nope, we’ll find a way round carrying capacity – as with every problem humanity has encountered so far. GMO’s, graphene, fusion, highly efficient solar. NASA seems to think that the increasing availability of family planning will mean that we will actually have to few people by 2100 though.

    Etc.

He is dead. Poor guy could not even take his wealth with him. What a waste.

You’re confusing figurative with literal language – you’re trying to be a smart arse. It isn’t working.

I welcome their Dear Leaders as they are the ones with purchasing power.

You have dear leaders as well – capitalists – the Rockefellers of this world.

You mean there are other capitalists? I judge standard of living by the number of iPhone and iPad available to family. Does that count?

Food, electricity (copper costs a lot), healthcare, education, a television, a car, petrol. All these will go up in price, you won’t be able to eat as much meat, you won’t be able to drive as much or buy as many new toys etc

    bwaarp
    Free Member

Crikey. Are you trying to become a Dear Leader? Now, let me tell that you may become one of the Dear Leader but the Ultimate Dearest of the Dear Leader is taken.

Are you scared by the fact that wogs are getting economic purchasing power?

Are you upset because the very capitalism that gave you a much better living standard than the rest of the world is slowly turning round and biting you in the arse?

The world is where I will be looking for jobs during my career, tough luck you relied on Britain’s privileged position for your career! Britain isn’t my playground, the world is.

Why do you think you are above others? I threat everyone equally including you so why do you want to be accorded special privileges?

    Whooooooooooooooooooooooosh.

Yes, Dear Leaders thank you for supporting their cause.

You’re mistaking me for a Marxist. I’m more of a globalization type with a bit of socialism thrown in. Libertarian Social Capitalist?

There, I’ve just invented a new political ideology.

You will go ape shite if you are called in the opposite colour.

That’s the reason why I consider maggots infestation all over …

Maybe you should consider lecturing me about that before you talk about humans in terms of a maggot infestation.

Yes, you may have competition but no they are not your problem. They can live life as easy as they like so long as the govt is willing to cater for them. If the govt gets it wrong … vote them out.

Nope my minds made up, competition and employer choice is a good thing.

Sometimes I think I’m so ultra-right wing I ended up on the left.

LOL! In those countries Dear Leaders rule!

Yeah I mean some of them don’t even have ultra-privileged monarchs and a lower divide between the rich and the poor! You failed to see my point though, globalization is capitalism’s way of redistributing wealth to developing countries. Your living standards go down, theirs go up. Not a bad thing, unless you believe in your god given right to live the lifestyle that you do. Personally, I believe in meritocracy – which leaves me with no time for the plight of little englanders.

The Dre Beats Solo HD do sound great but surely the price is driven by the name.

    Stay away.

I got some Audio Technica M50’s as my first decent headphone. One of the best bangs for buck in terms of sound quality – you’ll pay twice as much for beats and get worse sound quality.

Helping them does not mean you going all you to give your hard earn money away. Helping them means not adding burden to an already worsening social condition. i.e. mind your own business and let the gov’t deal with them. You vote accordingly as you like.

No, the white working/lower middle classes have a huge problem stemming from white privilege – life’s been to easy – hence their total lack of respect for education compared to the working classes in Asian countries. It’s about time they had some competition.

There is no such thing as wealth distribution. That is a myth. Even in the states govern by Dear Leaders there are some people more “even” than others. i.e. the elites … yes, them.

Scandanavia begs to differ – the middle classes in India beg to differ – the middle classes in China beg to differ – the middle classes in Poland beg to differ…. money from working crap jobs in the UK goes back home to places like Poland and kick starts their economy – then we can trade with them.

People are voting for self interest just like me wanting the world to vote for me in order to bow to me as their Dearest Leaders of the Dears. That’s a myth that Visa is difficult to get if you are a genuine students. You got the cash? If you do then you are in as simple as that. The rest are just bureaucratic forms filling. Nobody wants beggars I can assure you.

UKIP would make it harder, even the tories were tempted to go further – much to the horror of globalized businesses and universities of good reputation.

If you want to flourish then help them to help you.

Put it this no matter how many kids they can pop out that is the problem of the country i.e. the UK govt. It is an internal social problem and nothing to do with EU.

Why should I help them though? Why is it a bad thing that we’re evening up wealth distribution by bringing people in who actually want these jobs? They vote for people like UKIP – people who will see to it that academics/professionals will have an impossible time getting VISA’s here in the uk…..so these people are voting against my interests. Why should I vote in their interests to pull out of the EU again?

The types that vote UKIP….on the whole…are the types that vote against gay marriage, are anti-intellectual racists who will give me funny looks on the bus for dating an Asian, who drain the **** economy by bleeding our benefits system, who like to fly the Union Jack and like to think how great they make the country when they have had nothing to do with Britains greatness.

    **** parasites, all of them.

Why not marry her now/soon if you love her? Get it over and done with? Also I doubt that will happen to gay people since UKIP themselves might be gay. Just because some people are gay do not mean they are naturally liberal …

    We plan to.

“Mr Kilroy-Silk also claimed he had been appalled by Ukip’s decision to join the same political group in the parliament as the League of Polish Families, which was allegedly anti-semitic and racist.”

    and

“former UKIP member and co-author of its 2001 general election manifesto Aidan Rankin wrote: “Homophobia was one of the few forces uniting a notoriously divided party. To its brownshirt-in-blazer tendency, the dangers of Europe and the dangers of homosexuality were intertwined.”

LOL! Yes, vote for La-bore and the you can kiss your low end job good bye (practically hanging yourself) because others from EU are willing to earn less, work more and eat less. Also there is a possibility that they will open the door to the “selected few” from Non-EU and in that case Non-EU wins hands down … as they can work without sleep or food.

As Doug says, only if they teach your job by miming. As others have said, I have more in common with the aspirational globalized community basically I have more in common with well educated non-uk nationals.

Why should I give a **** about a bunch of white trash who pop out 5 kids and then claim benefits because their low end jobs can’t cover their family expenses.
