Ive never heard of a shimano crank snapping but by looking at the crack it could happen pretty soon to someone. Ive got this image of everyone rushing home after work tonight to check there cranks.

All the cranks i have seen with these cracks so far have been ones with the steel inserts, im not sure how my SLX inserts are fitted. I dont recall having to screw them in, my freinds hones that are cracked are press fitted in i beleive.

Id like others to check there cranks.

Yes it was brought second hand on 28k, so i had travelled 30k in it before it went. it could well have been abused a bit before.

No i never noticed any judder and im carefull about putting the engine underload by putting the foot down when low revs, i would change down if needed. The turbo blew when accelerating out of a laybye on an Aroad to rejoin the main carriage way, i was in 2nd gear. Its been puzzling me why it went for a long time, the cars on 72k now and going fine on a recon turbo.

Ive got a Ibiza FR 130pd and had to replace the turbo recently, the car had done then 60k. The propellor shaft snapped on the intercooler side of the turbo. I drive my car pretty slow most of the time so could this be the clogging vein bit that was mentioned?

I do fancy getting some decent reccy skates and just rolling around. It is enjoyable.

I receive all the channels using an indoor aerial, its all about the positioning of the aerial. Go outside and look at the direction all the roof top aerials are facing, this is the direction of the transmitter. Then if you can find a window in the room that is in this direction and place the aerial infront of this. The glass window doesnt attenuate the signal as much as concrete or brick wall.

Its a bit tempermental but ive got them all 90% of the time.

For the pipe use a bit of string with knots in and pull it through.

I think there is 3 of us doing solo and a couple of double teams, most are doing it as a bit of prep for 24/12.

Ive got a e thirteen DRS and it has worked faultlessly, from what i can see the new ds guides dont have a inside slider plate so they may make a racket when in the granny ring?

dylan i rode that bit the other day, the bank to a chopped down tree with chicken wire along the top to the drop off the end? I saw some guys riding in that direction the other week and then on sunday i went to check out what they were riding and was pretty shocked by what i found! I doubt it will be there for long.

Nope, if you have decent shoes (5.10s) then you shouldnt find yourself hitting your shins to often.

I got some Adaptalite El toro mtb ones from evans for £50, they are really good and work well in open sunlight and dense forests. Never had a problem of not being able to see because of them, wouldnt ride without them now.

Ive got a 20inch wheel Dahon speed folder but i am changing it soon for a mezzo. The reason being is that my work has just started the C2W scheme and i really want a bike that folds smaller. I commute into london on the trains and use the folder everyday i work.

Bromptons, the smallest fold but the ride i found to be poor compared to my dahon.

Mezzo, folds small enough and rides reasonably well.

Dahon 20incher, fold is massive, weighs a ton but rides much more like a real bike.

They must be interested in bringing more bikers into the area, the re do of the peaslake bus shelter area is incoperating 20 bike stands. They used my bike as a guide for where they are going to position the stands, they also measured my bike dimensions and asked me lots of questions.

Surely it depends on the fitness/skill of the rider that decides wether its a sleeper, after all thats the power plant. If i saw some fat bastard that looked tottaly unfit but he ripped it up on the downs and ups that would be a sleeper.
All you have done is put different stickers on, im sure a better rider than yourself could beat you down a hill with pikes on. He would then laugh his head off at your “sleeper” bike.

I totally understand it with cars but what you have done is just pointless.

Loads of people run 130mm forks on trances, when i had my trance i ran 130mm revs and it vastly improved the bike.
