the winter sickness bug is well ensconced in out house – I’m the only one who isn’t ill – having to clean up either diced carrots or gravy depending on which end has exploded!

funny – seems that it’s more socially acceptable these days to be a druggie rather than a smoker (which if my memory serves me correctly is still legal). Kids seeing (not talking about them being exposed to smoke in a confined space) someone smoking is pretty low down on the list of undesirable things for them to be exposed to – idiot drivers, idiots spitting in the street, self righteous w*****s on bikes, jakies drinking buckie, charity muggers, religeous nutters, obese school run mums, smelly people – where do we stop? – we all need to live together and that takes all types – stop trying to impose your views and opinions on others who don’t give a sh1t!

Another vote for the Genesis – I can’t fault mine and it does everything I want it to do – I tried a 456 and it felt like a bus in comparison. I’m 6’4″ and the 20 1/2″ frame suits me perfectly

GW’s ban was a bit harsh – I have to agree with him – I work full time, run a scout group, get involved in other community groups, have 4 kids and i’m a single parent – yes, it takes a bit of creative timekeeping but on average I manage far more than 10 miles a week (at least 15 a day)
5 mins to clean bike and nothing to “set up”
I just don’t see how he was being negative.

After 20 years as a Lighting Engineer I decided about 10yrs ago that I’d had enough of the stress of running big contracts, working silly hours and having no life outside work so in the notice went – I spent some time running my own business but that also was endless hours so jacked that it and signed up with an agency so i could try a few different things. some were good, some were cack but I managed to find a job that I enjoyed so for the last 6 years I’ve been in a job that is community based and I love it. The money is about half of what I was earning 10yrs ago but the house is bought and paid for, as is the car, and theres enough to pay the bills and put food on the table. I get to work with Yodagoat and spend each working day out and about and even have a “work” MTB to ride around on.
If you’re at the couldn’t give a s**t stage then have a think about what you’d like to do – I don’t think there’s much chance these days of doing what I did and trying out a few things but if you can juggle your finances and do without some of the extras that have become essentials in a lot of folks lives then go for it – there are a lot of positives to a simpler less stressed life 🙂

+1 for meditation – I also do Tai Chi.
Not work related stress for me though – single parenthood and a bitch of an ex 🙂

I also have the attitude that ” every day you wake up breathing is a bonus” – gives it all perspective 😛

I can’t really say that any car available new in this country at the moment is crap – I’ve had some horrors in the past but you pays your money and takes your choice – I’ve had some great Renaults and Peugeots but some of the smaller current pugs are just cheap and nasty town cars – Fords – you can drive one and it’s great and the next one is gash! – I don’t like the styling of current BMW’s, and I find that Audi’s look very aggressive, Vauxhalls just look so bland and uninteresting. Some of the newer Korean offerings look good but the one I just wouldn’t buy at the moment is the Nissan Juke – must have been styled by the RNIB. I’ve got a Merc V class – it does everything that I need it to do and TBH I would have bought it whatever badge was on the front.

I still find it hilarious even after all these years. all you self righteous P.C. folks on here should just chill out and get a life. I know a bloke with Tourettes – now that’s f****** ball achingly funny especially in the pub or supermarket and he finds other folks reactions to his affliction hilarious. And, yes, we always rip the p out of him because it’s funny

maybe i’m being a bit thick – the vast majority of rioters/looters i saw on tv were all young black males – does this not justify the profiling then?

Mercedes V Class – tons of room, the kids love it and it’s got 7 real seats – not a couple of extra fold up jump seats. 40+ mpg with an automatic and bodies and bikes all go inside 🙂

“I think racism should be renamed anticulturalism.

I have no problem with decent people of any background, I have a problem with negative cultures that clash with mine.

Skin colour has nothing to do with it as far as im concerned. “

    couldn’t agree more

leave it to the ASB officers – discuss with them what the options are but don’t inflame the situation. It’s amazing how many anti-social complaints we get that are incredibly pathetic (complaints re kids playing in the kids play park, playing football on the football pitch etc) – if your neighbours had a genuine complaint then they would have gone to the authorities themselves. In the meantime just go about your lives as per normal – it’s probably some pathetic person who has no life of their own that is jealous of the fact that you have a life!
