Butterfly, I think your paper is too toothy, try Bristol board to bring out the subtle tones

Thanks for the advice, I’ll give that a try. Have also bought some books to help improve my drawing 🙂

I love STW art club – seems attract nice people with a sense of humor 🙂

@ Catflees – it heavy duty water colour paper/ hot press paper – not the best choice for pencil really – cold press it better!

    Personally love RT’s Russian giraffe.

I vote for Dragon’s as it’s not long been Chinese new year and it’s the year of the dragon!

OT – +1 Cycle Active in the Lakes ( just did TCL training ). Chris and Rich (we didn’t meet John) are very welcoming, and have lots of experience.

I hope to guide one day, and if I get a lost person I would be very disappointed with myself – I’d give a full refund. I’d expect all staff to be friendly and helpful … language barriers and learning routes are skills that can be acquired … good attitudes go a long way IMO.

+1 Brompton – Still a good British well made brand. Easy to use for intended purpose (back wheel flips under the frame and stand upright).

+1 RR’s for fast rolling summer tyre. Using Kenda Blue Groove/ Nevegal at mo (with the oncoming of winter). Did try Maxxis HR’s which were okay – and nothing more?

Might I take this moment to plug a girlie biker blog where the author explores this sort of topic? http://www.loulouk.co.uk/

    As you were.

At least one person understood the question. I wasn’t really talking about the ‘pink’, or ‘men vs women on bikes’, just do MTB women belong to particular mindset? Perhaps other male dominated sports suffer from similar narrow-mindedness, such as women’s football etc? Though in it’s defense the industry has really moved on in those aspects – how many ‘pink’ high end women’s bikes are currently on the market?

If women weren’t different there wouldn’t be sites like WOMBAT, Dirt Diva’s and so forth … there is quite obviously a growing market for women riders!

I went to Maxxis and they were okay, but I have just ordered my Nevegal/ Blue Groove tyre combo, but this time went for DTC-Lite versions rather the stick-e, as these seems to drag on tarmac and wear out quickly. So back to good old Kenda’s 😀

I don’t care about cool, I care about what works out on the trail 😉

I love tents, and own three now!

I have a Vango pop-up tent for when it’s just me, and a Vango Tigris which is good 6 birth tent for when it’s the three of us.

I also bought a secondhand Outwell, which is a 4 birth, but would probably suit a couple but was not bigger enough for me, my partner and 10yr old son. If your interested, I’m open to offers (had a tiny tear in one corner).

All are waterproof and Vango’s are easy to pitch, pack up again. Also remember the heavier your gear the more petrol consumption you will incur.

The Go Outdoors near us has pitched tents to look at – they might do this your way and might be worth a butchers 😉

Good luck on finding your fab tent!

Try this recipe, I made a load for an Archery competition and was asked when I would make them again! The orange zest gives a zesty lift 😉

Had a good time at Chertsey … and the trails are beautiful around Swinley. The river was quite nice … though not sure about being so close to the capital?

Camped on my own … which was not the first time … and was surprisingly relaxing. I would do it all again … but somewhere else next time 🙂

Have a hard long think … is it just sex or do you want a more intimate relationship?

In my own experience, honesty is the best policy, you have a long a rocky road ahead of you. You could argue that your marriage has ended (before your affair), as sex is (to some) a vital part of a loving partnership … sort of cements you together … and denying sex is a form of rejection.

Sadly this is an age old problem, and ultimately you and your family will be unhappy regardless of either lie you choose to live … keeping quiet or staying in a loveless marriage.

I feel in love with someone else … we are still together nearly four years on … my Son knows I love him (he is ten as well) … and he is doing ‘better’ now his parents are split than if we stayed together.

I’m not saying things are going to be easy at all or what the outcome will be … but your ‘journey’ sounds like it started many years ago.

    Take care.
