The first time I ever did Cutgate looped with some Ladybower action. 35 total miles. Most pleasing last 5 miles ever.

Ginger, I am assuming you forgot about the part where the father told the child, “this situation is fine”.
the offence was about, DOG OWNERS, not the dags.

Regardless of your hate for dogs, dog owners, or little children..
I have decided, for us all, it was a problem with lack of diplomacy for both parties.
    -Dog did nothing undoglike.
    -little girl did nothing unlittlegirllike
-Little girl owner called out the dog owners for his childs unrest.
-Dog owner decided it was his fault that a little girl can get scared.

Scenerio should have gone as follows:
“Hey, can you get your dog please? Thanks.”
“No problem. I apologise, he gets excited sometimes.”
    -both parties together-
“Gee, wow, we are happy people today”

big_n_daft – how about not assuming that people enjoying a day out don’t want to have to enjoy it in the company of your dog

He/she was accepting to the idea of a dog in their life to begin with. I suppose it becomes an issue of who was there first if you want to go that route.

Then I have to let him know he has a gift coming.. And keeping that knowledge I might as well go for the Pearl necklace Chlamydia route. :P

Thought about the candles.. but then realized I have actually never seen a burning candle in the house. And the soap clause.

Bruneep. That’s the gift that keeps on giving, isn’t it?

I apologise. I did not mean to say you were being aggressive. (darn forums) But.. as the dog owner, I would have asked “what do you want me to do?”
-which would have been thought as I go get the dog-

But his lady friend went a little out of control.
I’m with Don on that one.

Personally, I dont think you should have called them out on their dogs behaviour, that you said was initially fine, just because your daughter was slightly more nervous than before.
The owners could and should have retrived their dog at your request… but your opening statement to them seems to be the most aggressive in the bunch.

Junkyard, not sure if you know this.. but if you ever find yourself with iron issues, fry up sliced tomatos on a cast iron pan. The matos will absorb the iron from the pan itself and give you a massive boost.

I have taken a saddle and pedals with some pretty gnarly pins in them to spain.. no problem.
but not many people woudl think to use pedals as a weapon.. would they?

It sounds/looks liek they are in New York. New York is the worst traffic state ever.
Even a routine pull over is treated like an arrest on human traffiker.
it’s insane, but it’s what happens.

Also, Amerikan rule is the same as the bear rule. I don’t have to be fastest. I just have to be faster than you.

    Pretty darn classic, though.

I almost always downshift into 4th when going up hill on the motorway.
It seems to get me an extra 20 miles or so from not trying to floor it to make up for the 15mph lost at a 2 deg incline.

I, however, over rev the balls out of mine. just because I am impatient like that.

I had 700’s on for a while until I rode a bike with 660s… Now I have cut my bars down. The only thing I have found is that, going back to wide bars feels weird. No need to do the hobble wobble going between trees anymore.

On the Nomad carbon road.. Why would you want a 6 inch travel bike that’s completely carbon? That’s too much heartbreak waiting to happen.

I was in love with the Nomads when the mk2’s came out. But, they are significantly overpriced for what they come with. And.. kind of look like a rainbow.
Plus, VPP may be a total pain to deal with in the peaks.

It all boils down to what the OP wants out of his bike.
Personally, I’d rather haul around 10 more ounces of frame and the 2k difference in my pocket.
So I shall still suggest. “Have you checked out the covert?”

I have read not much of this because, as many have said, “insert my frame here” is the best. I will drop some facts of my own.

had a Ragles Piglet. It was awesome. climbed like a goat, felt comfortable enough on the downs.. snapped. Replaced it with the Blue Pig with a warranty.

The pig, I decided, was the greatest bike ever. After getting used to it..(deciding to keep it at a 130 max) it climbed just as well. It hit the downs like no tomorrow. The first hardtail I had swung my leg over that just made me want to ‘do work’. really solid going down everything. The back end bounces perfectly with the right practise.
Only qualms i have had with the pig: It has a super long rear triangle and top tube. which is great for stability, but makes it a pain to find that sweetspot that makes lifting easy. Downs were great, as I said, but balance is key here. It took me a while to find that perfect sweet spot. After I did that, berms were hit at bar drag angles, full sussers were being caught on the downs, and jumping was becoming a bit easier. It is a XC bike for people who like to neglect the trail the most of the time.

Recently, I have retired the pig for a Stanton Slackline. Similar price to the Blue Pig. better steel. Replacable drop out. Super awesome dudes running the show.
Reason I swapped the frame: The test ride. the RT is shorter by 2cm. Makes you feel like a manualing mastermind. A lot more playful than the pig. Which makes me feel a lot more comfortable ‘losing the back end’ and then regaining it. The shorter RT and TT, I think, makes balancing an easier affair than a neglected house with in madison county. Corners like a dream. It really made me feel like going 90mph. Have just built up the Stanton, so haven’t hossed it like I have the pig.. so you will have to wait for a full review.

    Hope that helps.

What about a Trans Covert? Amazingly spec’d for the price. Light as. Great customer service.

If I ever decided to get bouncy back again.. it’d be the Covert. hands down.

I couldn’t handle Skyline. Saw it on a whim.. regretted every moment. Except the exploding kitchen with only 2 walls. That was quality entertainment.

I was skeptical it would be worth seeing before the first time I watched it…

They have this aquaphobic shoe treatment that lasts quite a while and makes the fabric completely resistant to all liquids.

I can’t think of the name of it right now but will get back to you.

    D0NK – At a quick look I counted 20 american ones. Skewed.

I had to recount. I apologise for my inaccuracy, but you still can’t blame a news release for cooler things happening in the western hemisphere. That’s silly.

–P.S. Not trolling, just saying, there is too much racism going around the boards tonight.

Not a fan of suckerpunch. It was cool the first 2 dream sequences.. but then it got old and the ending was implying the audience was there for more than scantly clad women with firearms…

    yoda,
I started cycling to work about 3 months ago. it’s 8.5 miles round trip.. I have a few hills both ways and do it on my hard tail. I even bought a road bike.. which was faster than driving into work.. until the weather turned foul, now I have slicks on the hardtail, takes an extra 4 minutes, but damn it feels good!

I also have the advantage of not wearing what I came in on to work. and have available showers in facility. If I didn’t have that option, i would think twice.

also.. if you use wet lube.. stop.
