Didn’t read most of this so here is my uninformed post:

I am a cross country type of rider but want it to be FUN rather than just a mere exercise. I love a 2h blast of tight and twisty singletracks in the local woods.

right there. No need for the slack angle or megaforks. It will be totally useless. and would only really benefit if you were a total masochist who sports a solid 2 hour climb.

I see your pain Tiger. I literally just went through the same thing. buying a hardtail of better quality, when my previous was in perfect condition.
The only thing that pushed me over to get it was 1) Higher quality materials. 2) elitism of knowing I would have a rare bike 3) the test ride.
even then, after I got it home and was putting it together, I was weary. Even after a few rides on my local trails, I was weary. but now, I am fine and very happy for getting it.
(replacing sentiment that don’t need replacing, right?)

If you really want 29r wheels. Get it.

Oh! Late on getting on this one.
Cruz, I am 5′ 7″ on a good day, and way about 5 kilos more than you. But if I lost any weight, I would look like some prussian refugee.
I think it’s a devs related thing. according to a BMI, I have been overweight since I was 14…

Junk, I think you will found that the hate it geared towards those who usually own them. and the lack of terrain the mega bike sees. Maybe the mudgauards, waterbottle, under the seat pouch, and bar ends, too.. but it’s your bike. Do with it as you please. :P
we’re all just a bunch of elitist snobs, us cyclists.

Love: Stanton Bikes. Such solid men selling a solid product.
Hate: Those sub companies that do all the DVLAs fining dirty work. Why do you exist?

Love: Marmot. Such quality stuff. When faced between buying oil or a triclimate parka, why would you want heating?

Hate: Specialized. Does this need to be defended?

haha. I am a neonatal nurse on a mother-baby unit. So it is normal to deal with newborns.. but rarely do things happen so quick that I am the one catching the child, with no doctor present.

I am still on AtomLab Trail kings. The newer PIMPs are pretty much the same, but wider, and with differently coated SS pins that aren’t as sharp as the kings.
But, if you can get ahold of them.. more than worth it.
Although, they are just a pin short of being the nanos.

Stage 3: Added danger(removing the glasses means I have a focal distance of about 14 inches and note I am in a construction site) right as my front tyre hits a pot hole. Look at those handle bars jackknife!

I lived out of my car for a while about a decade ago. This was in the states, but I lived on about £25 a month. Eating a can of speg and a pot yogurt almost every day. One meal a day. The occasional mars bar. Did work for a construction company on and off, but mostly relied on mates that were in uni for entertainment, clothes washing, and the occasional slice of pizza.

A good way to save lots of dough is to get a national gym mebership (YMCA, etc) One time fee of £200 for the year that way you can use your card to get into any YMCA in the country and use their showers and fresh towels. :P

Alright.. so after some reading… have we decided that allowing a dog to roam around is out of control?
Whilst it is inhumane to keep the animal in a restricted area?
But it is only out of control if it is infringing on someones thought process?
but not if it’s a leopard?
Of which, if domesticated, was created by humans?

Can we get back to a point, gents? it’s losing momentum.

    P.S.

Keep your dog close to you when walking it on a lead.

No need to keep it close if it’s off a lead… and still deemed in control via the kennel club.

I will tell you all day, everyday to go hardtail.
I am quite local to you and recently sacked my 5.5 for another hardtail. Especially in winter.

    So you should do that.

But serious question. How are your knees? How old are you?

    TJ,
The foolishness I speak of is of a man who would quicker decide to abuse a living creature because he felt he had a higher right than it.
The scenerio of discussion purely states the dog did nothing wrong. The nonowner was actually okey with the presence of the dog.

A dog is just the same as a child. Surely, it will not develop into the legal responsibility that a human would. but it is equally cared for and should be treated as such. You train a child the same you do a dog. Toilet training. Tricks. Boundries.
It is alive. It belongs to someone. It has a personality. A name. Above all, it was being social. No violent acts towards the child. No menacing action at all.
No need to kick in it’s teeth.

Don’t get me wrong. If an animal is out of line and poses an actual threat, it needs to be dealt with. As do people.
We are all animals. We all follow the same laws.
    Just enforced by different sentients.

I know her to like a bit of Tool. That mainstream istrumental industrial feel. but can easily swing some Tori Amos. Typically awesome girl stuff. But not much conversation has gone on about it.
I think I may leave music out of it.

Thanks for some bands to add to my watch list, though. :)

UR, I saw your post right as the genetics nonsense happened. I felt bad. My last dog was rescued. They are tough work but well worth it.

The fact that poodle is a massively available breed of animal is, in fact, a man made deal. However, the building blocks for what we now know as a poodle existed(before man got ahold of it) all on its own.
I still am skeptical that anyone can believe that an animal only exists to serve another, however.

A dog still exists in the wild. Wolves. Coyotes. Hyena. Don’t see anybody with a pet hyena very often.

Poodle as in the groomed show dog, or one of the most intelligent breed of dog known to the species?
No matter the hair cut, it would still be around.

P.S. BnD, thank you for getting Fenton into my life. It has made my night significantly better. :)

Domestication is a human design indeed. But they would still be there with or without us. Once again.. on earth. Within the ecosystem.

Condoning violence is one thing.. but let’s back it up here..

A dog.. no place in our natural environment.

Holy. Living. Christ. You are aware that a dog, like a human, is an animal. A mammal? bred and LIVING on the planet earth. With designed thought and needs such as oxygen, food, and forms of shelter?
I am not sure what environment you live in where humans solely run the show, but I assure you is is not Earth.

A dog, is just the same as a child. Just about as useful. Just as much love given to it. if a child ran up and touched a strangers leg, and said stranger gave the child a smack.. would you accept that? Why would you accept it if it were furry and quadrapedal?

I hate to be rude here, but you are a fool. I am assuming you are in the same category of people who bought a carbon 6in travel bike because it was 10 ouncess lighter than the 2k cheaper bike.

–getting back to the topic.. We are talking about Dog owners being slightly rude.. or have we segwayed into a humantist fascist eutopia storyline?

It wont be much if you have SD cards as your cameras storage. It only gets wild when you have an HDD.
SD card: remove card form cam, put in computer, drag files from SD card to the folder to be burnt-could even be using a basic DVD creator program that came with the computer. Bob’s your Uncle.
HDD: If you want to edit it, you will have to pull the footage from the camera to the editting software. If you just want raw footage, they have their own software to turn the footage into burnable product. Panasonic has a very user friendly program that will come with the camera to put the footage to disc, but makes it very difficult to edit in a respectable program.

Most cameras will come with an RGB cord, at least, for you to plug into your aux ports of your TV if you prefer to play footage from the camera directly to your TV. I believe most sony products have added bonuses to go along with Bravia TVs as well. Not 100% on this as I don’t have a TV, but I am sure my camcorder says something about Bravia on it.

But to edit/store, you will need the computer/ExHDD or a lot of SD cards.

Depends on what kind of camera you have. GoPro cams store all information to an SD card. Have seen it with other camcorders as well.
I have a Sony HandiCam that has an HDD and I just load files directly to my computer via a USB cord using Final Cut Pro. FCP will save the files for you after you load them in as a project.
But, with the SD card, it just makes a video file, which you can move to your computers hard drive to free up the space on your card.
