The hero 5 editions also have the option for overlay of stats now which makes it a good shout if it’s for filing trail sections as opposed to mashup style “edits”
put your money towards a better shock, something like the new Fox ones are leagues ahead of the RP2 with regards to settings and adjustments even factory tuned.
Ardent Race is a good one if you want fast rolling with cornering grip, more of a rear/rear situation though. The AR will be fine for XC/light trail duties up front though on hardpack terrain. HRII/other grippy tyre up front.
i second AMS stuff, looks good even after trimming due to the honeycomb pattern, plus it’s thicker than the invistape stuff too. Even if you just go for the fork kit and downtube kit it’s worth it.
That vintage of Marin Attack Trail is bombproof – i had one (stolen) and it was ok uphill with a double but it hammered the downs almost like a DH bike.
Sounds like a seal is damaged like you say and is causing oil migration resulting in lessening of travel, lover leg service might sort it – 5months is about right especially with it having just been summer.
you would need the shock to be tuned for your bike too, not just the stroke length and e2e measurement. I looked into this myself and just got my shock serviced.
Moel Famau is a good little hill to play on, they do the Marathon series round there, could quite easily make an epic route out of the other Moel’s adjoining it.
