MrA – There has been a lot of work up my way to work with the council to put in place a management plan on how to maintain biking on a SSSI. I can put you in touch with some guys to discuss the framework used which convinced the council to allow the trails and a certain about of trailbuilding to continue.

In my experience of running a business I wouldn't say this was advertising – more market research and customer feedback – I'm sure some bonafide adverts will be on this site once everything gets sorted.

Maybe I'm slightly biased as I've riden with Jedi a couple of times but in this economic climate are we really going to complain about something like this and not give people a helping hand when starting something from scratch?

Vanilla – what do you do anyway, you're not a web designer are you??

How much money do you think a wood of that size would make (profit rather than turnover)?

Are there any dates for the BasqueMTB skills week yet or are they being decided?

    Shame – riding looks entertaining.

Is there a group of riders fighting this or is it just a few people – i.e. have you clubbed together to show how many people enjoy these woods?

If so, have you thought about somehow raising some money – perhaps subs / or riding permits – and paying this to the Uni so you can continue using the woods. The FC have trails in their working woods so can't see (especially as I've not seen these first hand) why with a bit of financial support why the uni wouldn't consider letting bikers continue in the woods.

There must be areas that they could harvest and leave part or a majority of the trails in place. Maybe showing the Uni how they could make money from MTBing might help them to leave a good deal of it in there.

Quantocks is always worth a visit too…

Jedi – All seems to be working OK on my browser (IE7) – don't work too well on my Crackberry but that ain't the end of the world.

Nothing that jumps out at me like previous, few minor tweaks but still looking good!

BTW – saw this earlier – looking forward to seeing what the dates are going to be…

Surely its just being aware of what's on the trail and the size of the pedals in the same way you get used to the size of your bars

    Or am I missing something?

Sorry to hear this guys – hope you get everything sorted.

(If you need any advice on security / alarms – my wife works for a very good security company and I'm sure they'll be happy to return the excellent service you gave me when I bought my Soul from you)

MY ProII did this – turned out to be a seized / rough running bearing.

I've worked out the cause was washing the bike and the dirty water working its way into the hub and drying causing the dirt to sieze it up over time.

Coffeeking – I wonder if it is to do with the media obsession with money and celebrity – seems there are a lot of media publications which focus on having the right dress / car / jewellery / bathroom / trainers / bike etc etc etc – maybe this is where the perception of relative poverty comes from – more a wanting more than they can get and not being happy with what they have.

Crikey – I'm with you in that I don't think it would benefit me, but the way I get run down just doesn't seem to be right and I'm willing to explore all avenues.

I monitor when i get ill and how much exercise I do (have done for years – sad I know but that's the joy of Polar HRMs) and I am getting ill more often than I used to

I wear a pisspot, Elbow pads, two ankle supports, shin guard and knee pads.

Started off just wearing Knee, elbows and helmet, but after a few injuries and scraps realised I needed more.

I know a lot of people who wear a full face

I should add I'm talking about riding Park rather than racing, but I suppose the advice rings true for Dirt as well.

Oh, I wasn't bringing it down as its a great country, the story (whether true or not) brought an interesting angle to how we deal with teenage pregs when compared to the traditional chuck condoms approach, which seems to get mentioned so often.

With two young daughters I sort of take an interest in understanding how to avoid them ending up with with kids too early (not against people getting pregnant if they are having them for the right reasons, whatever they may be)

Euro – I wouldn't say I'm a young 'un, I'm the wrong side of 35 but loving it all the same and I'm one of the youngest guys out of a group of us who ride.

    Bushwacked

I'm not saying he or I are authorities, but it was a story he told me that he had picked up somewhere – I thought that it was an interesting angle on a problem. Most people focus on sex education to reduce teen pregnancies but it could be a social peer group thing where they see their peers get a house and money just for shagging about and poppin one out – bit like riding with a group of mates and some decide to try single speeding, it gradually spreading until all have tried it.

BoardinBob – interesting and if this is the case then it ring true with what I've just said about peer groups and following those around you.

Euro – From what I've read I get the impression that on the whole most people like the site, just a small proportion have said it is really bad – perhaps those people who design / like those **** corporate sites  . My understanding is its only a first cut – in fact I've just checked the site again and seen a few changes have already happened.
