Although I didn't buy it but inherited it when my Bro died. My prized posession.

For me LTHT is about going slower but having as much fun.

You need so much more skill to ride a HT as fast as a FS on the same terrain – I've hardly used my FS since getting a HT as it made my trails too easy.

I'm not sure that a FS is needed on 90% of the trails in the UK. I think everyone would benefit from taking a step back from technology and improving their skills – spending a few grand on a bike versus a few hundred on skills – I know I would spend my money on the later as it is much more worth it in the long run.

JonEdwards – loving the BFe – would love to hear more about it. you got an email I can email you some Q's on?

How can you say a Roady is an all rounder – Admittedly Lance is awesome – Natural talent riding a bike comes into it (along with spending a lot of time on a bike) but if you take this out Fitness and strength plus technical ability when riding are also very important. So I'd say most Dh'ers or BMX'ers beat roadie and XC types hands down as their technical ability surpasses the "racer types" and fitness and strength is equal if not greater

Positive attitude – its the way forward.

My mate was telling me about a book I should read called the "Sickening Mind" – which proves a lot about the effect of positive attitude on illness. Can't wait to read it.

You're a real inspiration – All the best!

Go down your local park and practice slalom – just popping into turns round an imaginary set of cones – set your sights on a point and turn round it – do it so often that it becomes automatic.

The challenge after that is remembering which bike you are on and how to corner!

Been to Borovets three times – had a great time everytime, but don't expect too much.

Defo check the snow before booking though

    Cannock??

We were at Woburn yesterday (OK slightly further) and I was surprised at how nice the trails were – a bit squirmy under pressure in places but generally great riding.

My wife used to sell them and thought they were ace! When we have some "spare" money we'll be getting one.

Tom Justice is the NUTTS!! That guy is mental to watch – just flows round the park and makes it look easy and graceful.

I'd be up for this, plus I'm at Corby this Tuesday :)

Allan – Sounds like you had a great day.

I used to think I could pump but now I can (but not as well as I'd like) and it really adds to my riding of natural trails. Bit of free speed, especially on bermed corners or swoopy trails – one of the best feelings in the world!! :) Plus it really helps with other techniques

It is easy once you understand what has to be done (I.e. How easy it is technically) – my challenge is being confident enough in my head that I can do it.

Jedi has shown me that most skills such as clearing those drops are actually quite straight forward

Big grins all round today!! :)

[Bemused]How can you say that is an adult sized BMX?[/Bemused]

The only think similar to a BMX other than it is a bike is the fact its a singlespeed

Its all about commitment. Take it at your own pace but push your boundaries.

Learn to drop in a quarter, ride out of one and most importantly (for a skill you will enjoy out on the MTB) learn to pump properly. If you can do that after an hour then good on you!

    Have fun!

    Looks great – but…

OH MY GOD – You've hardly got any snow at all!!!!

I went out yesterday and it was axle deep in most places which made those parts almost unrideable!!! :o
