Just ordered one from Rutland Cycles. Should fit as I've gone for the size closest to my head size.

    Jedi – high5!

Now I know the Cotic Hemlock is designed to be a FS that handles for people who like HTs – worth looking at?

I'd get some new forks first and see how the Hummer hums! if you want to – you are welcome to try my Soul out on the 20th

Of course I know where you coach! ;)

I like the hummer – I'd say get a hardtail for that to keep your hummer for "best" unless you think it'll take the beating – if so new forks.

Personally I think a FS might be too much unless you are thinking for the likes of more burly rides and coaching. But then I think 90% of UK riding doesn't need a FS so I'm slightly biased.

Jedi – Lets take it back to basics…

What do you want to do with this bike? I get the feeling you are after something which is bombproof and good for uphills? or are you after something which is just good on the downs?

Just to stir it up – not saying it isn't a good bike but is the Bottlerocket really a do it all bike? Looks very DH / Freeride orientated or that end of the spectrum.

Wouldn't a Blur LT be worth considering? or perhaps a Heckler?

So if I'm inbetween sizes – go for smaller on the principle that it'll mould to my head (That's Mould not mold)

I'd try a different lube – as I understand it chain suck occurs as there is too much friction between the chain and chainrings leading to disengagement not happening at the right time.

Things like worn chainrings, mud, wrong lube, moisture etc all contribute to it. Putting on a bigger BB will not cure it only avoid damaging your frame.

Toxicsoks – What lube you using?

I used to get chainsuck all the time on my Soul. Changed my lube and only in the most attrocious conditions does it rarely occur. I use Purple Extreme in summer and Finishline Wet lube in the winter – in winter I brush the chain and re-lube after everyride – takes 10mins max.

I also have an innertube round the chainstay all the way to the bottom bracket with a few frame protection patches underneath all held together with some strategically placed zip ties. At least when it happens it doesn't cause too much damage – but as I said it now rarely happens.

    finbar – and…

I enjoy watching her on the news when she's on, that white shirt she wears….

Plus all these woman are fantasies and some of these photos have been manipulated to a greater or lesser degree but do you take that into consideration? I bet they all look less than attractive first thing in the morning or when struck down with flu. I also have the smallest chance of meeting them let alone getting them into bed so I enjoy what I see, very much in the same way the roles they portray in films or the image you read in the media makes you lust after them. ;)

Peter Poddy – Nail on head – They look good but most women can make themselves look good and attractive (especially with a professional makeup artist, hair stylist, lighting director and photographic engineer).

But looking at a woman and living with them are two very different things. I imagine even going out with some of these beauties becomes the same as any other relationship after time.

    Got some fairy.

Niche – Had the end of the straw covered so it didn't spray (was putting some on the axle bearings as they were a bit gritty to see if I could loosen them up – worked a treat) but the bloody cap where the straw goes in leaked and sprayed from the cap onto my hand and the rotor :( Who would have guessed it.

Staying in a 5 star hotel in Edinburgh later this week so will scavenge some showercaps :)

Phiiiiiiil – Loosely slotted is where I'm at.

I'm thinking the problem is because when I put power down the outside of my foot drops and tilts my foot putting my knee out of alignment leading to incresed pressure on the inside of my knee.

Never had releasing become difficult – mine are so worn they hook in but don't clip in and securely hold the foot. Cycling one legged my foot releases on the up stroke. :?

Annoyingly is always happens about 1hr into a road ride and I have to limp home.

Mine are about 5 years old. well worn! Got a brand new pair of cleats I'll swap over and see how it goes.

    thats what I thought!

My other bike has platform SPDs and I'm wondering if my foot is angling to one side because the cleat is worn and my SPDs don't have the platform on the offending bike.
