Many thanks for the suggestions… Looks like a plan coming together.

Thinking this… (if I’ve read things right)

About the right distance for an unfit fooker like me :)

Rob – if you’ve about tonight then happy to hook up, in fact that goes for anyone out there.

Cool, I can see where you mean, had a feeling it was that one but wasn’t sure. How would you suggest getting back to hope from there to maximise the enjoyment?

Never considered the speed of the card. (Just bought a class 10)

    Considered riding faster though.

Will dig out the white bung.

You stretching your piriformis??? A physio once told me this was the root cause of most problems. Whether I believe him or not I’m not sure but when I get pains it normally helps after a few days.

I’ve been riding park for a few years and went to my first track recently – just took my BFe along with race tyres pumped up to the max. Had an awesome night.

LOL! Yeah, rear suspension is terrible. Physio tried his best but my knees aren’t what they used to be ;)

depends on circumstances – age, responsibilities, income, etc etc

When I was younger I had only a student loan.

Then I bought a house and started working and had debts of about £5000. :(

Then paid most of it off. :D

Then had kids, wife’s business failed and debts soared to £60k!! 8O

Now paid most of it off and now only have about £4k outstanding. Quite happy with that :D

    (This obviously excludes my mortgage)

Nice one Donks – you’ve got some tricks I’m jealous of, especially the manual to drop in.

    You ever ride Corby?

Get down your track and try it out, racing is forall ages andquite a family sport. Most clubs will be really friendly.

Park /ramp riding is very different but just as fun but youll see more kids doing it although its been good to ride recently and see more people over 30 riding these days

I’m sadly going to bail on this. Really not into muddy slide-fest. Have fun though.

How bad is it down there? Much grip or is it far too slidy?

What a hoot! Loved Hamsterley. Some nice trials in there with some serious roots in parts. Tried to do the route suggested but went a bit off-piste on Star Wars, came out somewhere random and **** up finding the bit of red (transmission) I was going to do which I’m a bit gutted about. Before I realised where I was I was at the top of Section 13 / the 4x track. so went down Section 13 and that section is awesome! 13 may be unlucky for some but I loved it. So much so I had to do it a second time, however on that run 13 was unlucky as I tried to wall ride in that bombhole thing and pinchflatted on a rock. Cue 5 mins of trying to change a tyre while seeing midges eating me alive (also the first time I have experienced a midge attack too).

From Section 13 down I loved it.

I’ve justy worked out that I did the whole of the Black which in places could be classed as a reddy black. Root 666 is just a slog in places with all those roots but something quite good about doing it.

All in all a great evening, even though my legs are burning at the moment from the bites. Going to have to give it a go again.

Fork failure has lead to some comedy moments – Swapping a QR Revelation with a Maxle Sektor – Shimano and Hope brakes on each, one wheel had a Centre lock disc and the other a 6 bolt and the mounts were either POst or IS. Looking back it would have been easier to have swapped levers/calipers than try to get the Hope disc working with a Shimano disc.

Now I’m ready. Anyone got a weather prediction for tomorrow since we can’t bank on the Metoffice giving us an accurate forecast?

Another question – So what’s the difference between an i3 and i5 chip?

I am looking at ideally spending about £400 but could stretch to some of the lower priced Macbooks £800ish at a push.

I tried some recently (and some x-kings) and was very impressed. Bought some 2.2’s and now considering some 2.4s for the big bike but just to decide whether to getthem in protection or ust
