Put it horizontal and tried it out – feels loads different and noticeably better. Also noticed the saddle had slipped all the way back some how.

    Thanks for your input

Hmmmm it’s about 10deg nose down at the moment. I’ll experiment.

Don’t forget the Conti Der Baron – awesome tyre. Especially on the Off Piste round FOD. Sidewalls degrade but still runs fine

Depends what device on the interface. I browse prime on my phone and add stuff to my watchlist so it appears on my TV easily. Also browse via IMDB.com and add it via that too (links to prime).

Also one more recent TV has a much better interface. The old one is shockingly bad.

Not sure. I think she thinks the cutch is a throttle limiter. She drives it round town with the clutch half in – drives me nuts!

@sharkbait I have no idea. Apparently she was keeping the revs really high so it didn’t go into the garage.

    Headspace is a great app.

I had a major episode about 10 years ago driven by stress, over exercising and a number of other factors which resulted in time off work and not being able to ride my bike or do anything for a number of months.

Mindfulness/meditation was a massive tool in resolving my issues and also creating a better environment for me in the future to avoid it happening again.

The way I think of it is the aim is to train your mind to focus on one thing for as long as possible (usually your breathing – which actually helps with the calming physiologically too). This ability to give your mind stamina to focus on one thing is like building up stamina on the bike – the more you do it the better you get – so you may feel some effects each session but over time you’ll really notice it. By doing this it enables you to avoid the distractions of modern life where you are drawn to flick between things rapidly – like mental channel surfing – due to pressures of work, notifications on your phone or similar. Being able to avoid these distractions and remain calm and focused will help your stress levels. Headspace (or any meditation training app) will give you the tools and understanding to train you to understand the difference between calm and stress. I’d always recommend 10 mins of headspace twice a day – before work and after.

Loads of shuttle companies in Finale, I’ve used 3:

Finale Freeride is good – has a wide range of “trail areas” you can ride, including some exclusive ones.

ProRide – OK, good bunch of guys but not as organised as FF.

Bike and Sun – Had a great week with them but we had the shuttle to ourselves most days so was very tailored to our needs.

If I was on my own I’d go for Finale Freeride, if in a group I’d try to book Bike and Sun.

Been running MT5’s for two years now after a long running love affair with Shimano brakes – wouldn’t go back now.

The standard levers aren’t great but found i got in with them well. Although i have just upgraded to the HC levers

Bleeding is easy although you need some isopropyl as you do get leaks when taking the syringes out – but its as quick as a Shimano bleed.

The issue with the bleed screw and bar clamp sound like over torquing them.

@benp1 – Which of the two do you prefer (Road and Trail?) I notice the base tint is slightly different.

Cheers. I’ve had some yellow Photo chromatic lenses for about 10 years which have been OK but I can’t help wondering if a colour tint would “add” something albeit I know they won’t correct anything

Digital is much better in my opinion as you can easily get it to a specific pressure and make micro changes as needed – bloody difficult to do this with an analogue. Depends how much you want to get the most from your suspension

Going slightly further afield there is loads of off-piste but local knowledge needed.

Fork (Fox 36 RC2) and Shock (Float X) are due a service -has been about 14 months since new and have been ridden in all sorts of conditions including a couple of weeks in the fine dust of Finale.

I’m thinking a mid point between current air pressure and old air pressure as the increased speed through rough sections is awesome but feels far too firm.

It has been mentioned adding compression will make it less firm but this doesn’t make sense, although I appreciate the interplay between compression and rebound needs to be taken into consideration.

We did use a shockwiz previously which is where the previous settings came from.

Tyres aren’t losing traction more the bike is just handling different and is less responsive suddenly.

I had a stress related incident that took close to 8 years to recover from – however I’m now aware of how to keep on top of it and have a very stressful job but I recognise the triggers and I ow actually perform better in more stressful situations.

So in answer to your question – Yes but it has changed my outlook and interpretation of the world around me.

Just re-read your post – if you have a car and don’t mind staying a little further out I can’t recommend Loano2 village enough

    https://www.loano2village.it/en/Home

Fantastic place to stay – been twice with the family and had everything we needed. Pools, on site restaurant, games, kids entertainment, great grounds, cheap accommodation (we hired a 6 bed apartment for 4 of us) and a courtesy bus to town/beach.

In terms of biking it was a 20-25min pootle in the car along the coast to Finale proper. You could probably ride it though depending how fit

Stayed in Hotel Derby right in centre – really impressed and close enough to everything. Went out of their way for us.

Went and tried a few helmets today – The TLD A2 didn’t actually fit at well as I remembered – partly as I’m slap bank in between sizes.

The Fox Flux, Smith Strawhat and a few others weren’t great.

But the one which fitted really well was the Bell Sixer. Felt great, tightened up really well and no wobble. Awesome – just need to decide which colour to buy.

    This could be the one…

If only in my size 😂
