It’s running with Tubeless flows running Conti MK2s, Fox 36 Air RC2s and Bos Vip’r – Defo 34lbs even with a Reverb – The frame is about the same weight as the covert. It’s an awesome bike, but just slightly too much for longer rides and steeper climbs.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I can see a few demo rides coming up.

Surprised no one has mentioned the latest incarnation of the Scott Genius – the 650b version does appeal and I’ve always had a soft spot for scott bikes.

A few guys I know locally have Blur TRc’s and they have had a lot of good reports. Bloody expensive though.

Heard good things about the Whtye bikes, but still not sure I’d get on with a 29er.

I did have a chat to a mate riding a proto 146 and he was raving about it. apparently only 25lbs and 150mm travel – surely that’s illegal!!

Probably been said – but suddenly she has a very expensive looking lawyer and her story suddenly plays down the whole affair – the issue is she could have killed a cyclist and tweeted to make out the cyclist shouldn’t have been there in the same was as a wasp at a picnic.

Every ride – always got a little demon reminding me of what I should be doing, especially when I don’t remember to do it when i should.

If you take the cyclist out of the equation here and replace it with a car or bigger vehicle – her coming round that blind bend at speed and out of control would have probably killed her and the oncoming driver – She’s basically a shite driver.

She should be hanged! or only be allowed to drive an electric car with a 20mph max speed. Then we can laugh at her while she is over taken by my mum on a brompton!

The law should make her cycle round London for the day – that would change her view on cyclists…

Another vote for the Voltage – Got Fox 36 air’s on front and a Bos Vip’r and it’s about 33lbs with a reverb – great for messing around on :) Pedals OK and really nice to jump on.

I’ve had a long chat to my new employers HR team and they have explained that once the contract is signed, even though there are some checks (CRB and Credit) I should be fine – especially as I have a good credit rating and I’ve not been one to break the law.

Contract is apparently going to arrive tomorrow so will be handing notice in on Monday all being well :)

When you say signed contract – do you mean I’ve signed it or they have signed it and returned a copy to me?

I should say as I’ve been responsible for setting the strategy and creating the offering, it’s more my knowledge of the industry which I’m taking rather than anything tangible. I’m acutely aware of IP etc having worked for a corporate law firm previously

I’m going to a competitor, I work in a client facing role and everything I do currently is strategically important stuff the competitor wants to know (hence why they are stealing me)

Rather than meths I used fairy liquid on the inside and worked quite well. IN fact one tyre is still up 12 months after and hasn’t been used for 8 months (FSus)

There is a bit of a longer story to it…

To cut that long story short I basically I went for a job internally which resulted in a long chat with my company and explained I needed to earn more and they gave me more responsibility in exchange for more pay, but they haven’t followed through with the more pay bit yet hence why I’m looking for a new job as my pay review has dragged on for 6 months and even my boss admits it is taking the mickey.

Originally I spoke to them about working in a different capacity but they wanted me to do this role instead.

I think I’m going to be open and honest with them, drop them a line and say that I really want the position but at this salary level I can’t afford to take it.

Everything else is the same – Pension is slightly better perhaps.

Had a long chat to them this morning and they said they could perhaps boost the salary by about £1,000. Hardly worth me moving for.

I agree that on the Ipad and other devices there is protection, but when my wife got it she didn’t even think about doing it (I did it on the other devices) before she let the kids have a go.

But the other issue is – why aim a game at under 10 year olds and have in-app purchases, especially where it promotes buying gems which cost between £1 and £70 – My kids don’t understand the value of money and she didn’t realise it was real money (although she does not after I told her this means no birthday or Xmas presents for her – which incidentally made her cry this morning)

Clash of the clans was the culprit of my kids in-apps spending.
