Thanks – we like the look and the practicallity of the induction. Been using Gas for too long.

Anyone got a flex induction hob like this with the flexible ring thing?

Featureless? I really enjoyed it. Some nice features I thought

We’ve basically got a ceiling height issue (currently only 200cm high) which is causing some issues – so we’re going to dig down and remove the floor. Gives me the opportunity to take up the floor, insulate and lay the UFH. But the cost…

Just to reopen this – we’ve been given a quote to put in UF heating but to install it and the work to get to that point doubles our budget.

We’re now considering not having UF heating – but would anyone warn against this and for the sake of a few thousand say it is worth insulating and installing this rather than not insulating the floor and working of a radiator?

Loads of downed trees on the XC – didn’t ride the DH – but had a chat to the guys sawing up some of the trees that were by the trailside and they seemed to be enjoying themselves.

Did it today – perhaps one of my favourite trails in the UK now – reminds me of Gawton in places but more XC. Can’t wait to go back.

All I’ve been thinking about is jokes involving Purple monsters since…

Got some thermal paste and tried that and didn’t make a great deal of difference.

So I’ve turned off 2 of the 4 cores and it seems to be much better – Overall I think it is on it’s way out so going to invest in a new one when I can

Ran memtest and it crashed out and shut down halfway through. Ran it a second time and crashed out earlier so make me wonder if it is something to do with the heat build up

Cougar – I did take the CPU heatsink off to de-dust it and the paste looked like it could do with reapplying. Will give it a go.

Will also run a mem test – any suggestions?

Might have a play with some of the above tomorrow. “Borrowed” a psu from maplin and still had the same problem so thinking either grpahics or memory. Already cleaned it out and put the mem in a diff slot.

Last time I went I really enjoyed riding up a few times but then had a few uplifts too.

Perhaps what they need is the ability to record those who would have booked the uplift had their been space which also acts as a reserve list too. Would give them chance to understand demand in a more quantitative way.

This is good to hear. We’ve got two kids, a dog, a rabbit and a few bikes so it’s going to get a bit of wear and tear.

I imagine success is dependant on whether you are first in, about middle or one of the last ones to be done. After a day of bollock chopping my handi work might be a tad worse than when I started – especially if I’m running late for a beer.

4 weeks off when I had it done and the jam incident was due to swimming 2 weeks after op

I heard you needed to seal once a year.

I love the look of limestone and haven’t yet found a porcelain which is as nice.

Yeah, ripped my front teeth out when I was 9 going over the bars onto a newly gravelled road – resulting in 8 hours surgery, 1 week in hospital and 10 years of dentistry to correct – got to a point where one of my teeth fused to the bone and wouldn’t respond to orthodontics. Ended up my dad buying me some implants / caps for my 21st birthday. Went to dentist one week, went back a few weeks later to have them fitted and they’ve been fine since (19yrs later)

We’re thinking somewhere in the Morzine region but looking for long weekend rather than a full week (Family holiday to consider afterwards)

Can anyone suggest somewhere in Morzine region which does 4 night stays?

Whether NAS, DNLA, Smart”inset object” or otherwise – it all comes down to interface and how easy it is to operate.

My DNLA interface for my Sony TV is a pain compared to Sonos

Plus a lot of it comes down to sound quality – My Sonos is so much better than the BOSE CD player it replaced. I dread to think what a Rasberry Pi device is like – put perhaps I’m picky

I’ve got a Sony TV, AMP an a Sony Xperia Z1 phone and all link into the NAS (Synology DS112).

I also forgot to mention I’ve got Itunes hooked up to it for my Ipod, and the wife’s and Daughter’s Iphones. Its great – you rip the music using Itunes and it stores it on the NAS automatically and with the click of a button Sonos picks it up as well – made it super simple.

Also, I’ve been using Media Monkey for organising my music which is an amazing app – got a little OCD on it and now have all the album artwork so it appears on the Sonos, Xperia and hopefully my new car when it arrives.

You can also set it up as a print server (however my HP already has a built in print server) and an email server – but I’ve been too lazy to do this yet. I’m impressed with how powerful it is.

I love the fact you just leave it on and I dont notice it.

I started using my NAS for music, but now, in the space of 3 weeks, it’s got photos, videos and now documents on it. Mainly so we can share stuff on the variety of laptops, tablets, phones and PCs we have in the house. Working a treat, plus my Sony TV and Amp links into it so I have a network player in my living room without having to do anything extra.

Recently went through the same (even have Sonos Play 1 which are great). Ended up with a Synology 1 bay NAS. Didn’t really want a 2 bay as I back up everything to a remote HD anyway.

The aspect which made me chose Synology was the GUI – apparently you spend less and the GUI does less / isn’t as nice to use.

I’ve got the dock but need a cover to work with it. Makes it so much easier to charge than using the other method.

I should add that we went through a phase where Florence had the squits for about 2 weeks – changed her food from wet and dry to just dry and it sorted it out.

Might not be related but thought I’d mention it.

I thought I’d miss the iphone but in terms of apps I can’t think of one I miss. I thought the size of the phone would be a problem but I’ve got used to it and now using the Iphone4 (my daughters got it now) I find it too small.

The only issue I have is the compatibility with the car stereo – but this is minor and I’ve already got used to it and worked around it – bascially use bluetooth connection and queue up what I want.

I do find the Walkman app has so much better sound quality than the Apple version (and also Google Play too)

It’s super fast too. GPS location, app loading and all sorts of others.

Cheers for the info – I’m getting the 32s on the Spectral and not sure whether they are going to lack a bit of stiffness compared to the Fox 36’s I’m used to.
