No reason I can think of if you have the space on the bar. If you only have 1×10/11 then should be fine, might be a bit cuttered if you have a front mech. You could always run the Reverb upside down on the RH – mine is an upside down RH on the LH side.

    This has some more info.

Went to L2A this year and was blown away by the trails for variety. Great setup and something for everyone. We’re now looking at other places but think we’ll end up back at L2A next year.

I blew myself up a few years back and got CFS from massively overdoing it and not listening to my body so I now keep an eye on things.

One tool I have which has given me a good guide is a Polar heart rate monitor – their Training load function has been great to help me understand when I can and shouldn’t push. It’s also helped to warn me that I’m coming down with something just by seeing how different a regular ride is.

I looked at one but found as I make a lot of calls from the car that it wasn’t as well sound insultated and people couldnt hear me that well. Otherwise a great car and would have gone for it

Yeah, we do most of the time. But I think it is combo of clothes drying / kettle boiling etc along with the fact the extractor is freezing to touch.

At the moment I’ve got something like one of these over the vent

We’ve got an odd size duct (200mm x 90mm) comming out of the wall – not quite sure what the fitter was doing – so been difficult to find something to fit.

LOL! I should have been a little more clearer about what was going on.

I’ve got one of these over the hob which is venting straight out of the wall.

Totally accept that the door should be slightly smaller than the carcass etc, but with one side different to the other I just want both sides to be the same so they dont look mismatched

The fitter picked it up as soon as the doors where delivered and discussed it with us. He tried and tried to get them to fit but they wouldnt. One side of the wall cabinets is perfect the other is not and due to the design it sticks out. Totally not the fitters problem

On the splashback we had them measured and made for about £500 from a local firm. Fitted ourselves. Used mirror adhesive amd silicon. Bit of a faff but not as bad as I expected

Sadly not (and the end panel has been swapped already so is the “right” size 584mm) – they have a strip along the top and you would notice it – also you can see the top of the carcass above the doors currently – we’ve tried moving the doors up to adjust it and hide the carcass but then the extractor isn’t lined up… Argh!

The fitter had a right challenge trying to work out what was wrong.

The two wall cabinets in question – one on the left you can see the end panel sits slightly higher visually than the doors but this is because the doors are slightly shorter.

    Hi,

Both wall cabinets were made to be 580mm high which when you ignore the extractor they have been – but on specing it up the company didn’t didn’t factor this in as the extractor adds the 4mm and there is no tolerance to adjust – so totally their fault but they still like to make out it is my fitters fault.

We have 4 doors which need changing to make them 584 rather than 580 which they are currently and they have said they will remake those, but that was 6 weeks ago and despite numerous attempts at emailing and leaving messages with other staff the guy hasn’t called us back.

I don’t want to ruin the relationship as on the whole what they have done is excellent but it’s just these last minor points which are dragging this out.

    Thanks for your comments.

The kitchen is bespoke in that the cabinets are slightly shorter than normal.

The issue arises from one side they’ve built to 580mm high, the other side they built to the same size but they incorrectly measured the extractor which has made the overall height 584mm – but the doors and end panels for both sides are 580mm.

Plus the carcasses were provided first and the doors about a week later (rather than the next day as promised which is the delivery issue) When he fixed them up it was all good, but when the extractor was fitted and then the doors it was when he noticed the issue. The guy who fitted it is a bespoke kitchen fitter and came highly recommended – his work was amazing and the attention to detail really shows – but unfortunately this pigs ear isn’t going to be a silk purse.

Ride what and how you like, but personally I think they are perhaps one of the best additions to my riding for a long while.

A lot of the riding I do is short climbs and descents so when I’m on some steep stuff it really helps to be able to put it out of the way but then have it back when you reach the bottom and have to quickly start climbing again.

    Wouldnt be without one now.

Feeling a tad jaded this morning – glad to be working from home.

already started looking at the map to work out how to ride all the good stuff and avoid some of the climbing.

Nice vid that Dirtybiker – Hope you ain’t too sore this morning. You got any more of the riding you’ll be sharing?

56 here! Bit nervous but more excited than a kid at Chrimbo. My mate booked it and got competitive and sport mixed up! Doh!

Anyone know what the trails are gonna be like for the timed sections?

Been looking at the Baron’s for my Freeride bike but waiting for the 2.4’s to come out in Dec.

Might try the vigilante although I’ve been tempted by a Spesh BUtcher/Purgatory combo. DO like the look though

    RQ – FTW!

    Cheers

Hmmm… can see a purchase of a Pike soon for mine – just got some Zochi 55s on the Voltage and its really shown me just how rubbish the Fox’s are.

Got mine back in March – Spectral al8.0 – love it. Running the tyres tubeless so no issues with pinch flats. I’m 182cm and went for a large – size ok although a little longer would be nice. Ive seen they’ve changed the sizes for this year and they look even better.

Ride wise I the spectral is amazing value, best bike ive had over the years. Went from a Cotic soul and a Scott voltage wanting something inbetween and got it – great up and really capable down, almost more capable than my voltage – strava went nuts on all my local routes for a few weeks. Tempted to swap the fork though as not getting on with the Fox 32.

Very tempted with the strive though, not much more weight but more travel

Chapaking – where you with two other guys ome on a blue commencal and another on a bronson?

Had a great ride but always think it’ll take less time that it does. I’d forgotten how good Fairholmes is and was shown some nice descent back to the tarmac on roman road. Great evening for it too

Is there an audible squish sort of sound coming from the shock?

Just emptied all the air from the shock and re-set the sag (to about 18%). There is a slight difference between Descend and Climb but Climb is still really active compared to what I remember it being. Plus there is a weird sound coming from the bike now – not quite a squish but something like that.

Ok, will drop them a line

It seems much more baggy / active than before but not heard an audible squish.

Shock is 3 months old. Riding probably 4-6 hours a week.

Canyon spectral, felt fine until recently and now seems hardly if any difference between settings

Yeah, running about 27% sag. Checked it this morning
