Always regret splitting this bike and selling it. Don’t know if I’ll ever have the money to build something similar. I have a young family now.

binners – Honestly never knew all their albums got to number 1. Never took too much notice of the charts. Some of the stuff from Lost Souls is beautiful. Actually met Jimmy at T in the Park outside he got each of us in for £20 by letting us use spare band passes. Think it was a nice earner for them this would of been 98 or 99 he sat and had a smoke with us. Told us he was in a band called the Doves and I was like nah mate haven’t heard of you guys. Heard the cedar room and the man who knew evertything and then I was hooked.

Jack Daniels Tennessee Honey Whiskey on ice.

Lovely winter warmer. No whiskey burn and a lovely aftertaste.

For me Doves, but to be honest I’m glad they never became mainstream.

I have a MK5 Golf 140 bhp diesel which after putting decent tyres on and having it mapped is pretty fun to drive. Can get between 55-60 mpg on longer drives and is only £135 a year road tax.

After moving to a more rural area I had to pick up a cheap 2nd car so I didn’t leave my Mrs stranded whilst at work. I picked up a Mk4 Golf GTI 1.8T. S reg (1998) with only 98,000 miles and FSH for £1200 from Gumtree and to be honest it’s in fantastic condition for its age and is completely standard. I feel it’s better built than my newer Golf and tend to spend more time in the older car.

Had an Ibiza FR previously and can recommend that as a fun car to drive. Bit hard on the roads and always paranoid I’d get a flat if I went through a pothole in the winter.

[quoteHave only been once, and just for a day, but it seems nice. That said, part of the appeal to us is that there’s loads for kids, which we have, so are perhaps a different market to what you are[/quote]

Yeah I have twins but we’re planning on having a kid free night.

loum thanks, we actually have a family holiday at the end of April at Cente Parcs (Whinfell) and she’s pre booked that for us last night.

This is just a wee surprise from me. A Spa would be great but it’s not a deal breaker more of a getaway as we’re getting a break from the kids.

I’ve got some fork lowers I’d like to get painted white. Is powder coating the best way for this too. Can anyone recommend anywhere in Ayrshire that could do this?

Cheers again retro83, i’m sure I can get them working again. The only thing I need to check is when sanding with the wet/dry paper, should I only sand the areas I’ve applied the nail varnish? Is it better to wet the paper for sanding or leaving it dry?

Yeah what you can see in the bucket is all the seals that came out of the lowers when I removed them. Any suggestions on the best place for isoprop, endure seals and bushings retro83?

    burnsybhoy

Yeah my original plan was to service and it them on my gf’s bike. I’ll need to get a new wiper seal kit and I was planning to get and air service kit too and service that at the same time and the u-turn adjuster know will need replace as well.

Tenner a month for the goodybag and never anywhere close to using the total allowance as calls to other giff gaff numbers are free and the main person I call is the Mrs. We’ve went from £70 a month on mobile phone contracts to £20 for the household. No problems with service or porting numbers. Managed to persuade a few friends to change over.

I’ve got 15 month old twins (boy and girl) and I’ve been looking at balance bikes for the future. Really like the Isla bikes but it’ll skin me having to buy two. Do Isla do a tandem?
