6:40 but we have an hour drive at lunchtime to family so hoping they nap in the car…doubt it.

Nearly 4 weeks since my chest infection came (wanted to try and fight it without antibiotics). Tested it out on the 1st Dec doing a road ride with the Mrs at a gentle pace. In the last 4 weeks it’s been bad, then eased off, then came back again and when I finally decided to see the Dr yesterday the cough and phlegm has pretty much gone. I’m going to hold off till the weekend before I think about getting back out. Really missing it, but take it easy and enjoy xmas.

Burnsyboy found the ones I bought SS pacenti deal
    Really pleased with my set

Todays Superstar deal is 20% off everything so makes these even better at £159.99

    Have a look here.

Put these on my Mrs bike. Cycling Weekly has a code that takes them to £169.99. Set up with Schwalbe One Evo Tubeless Tyres 700c x 25mm. Weigh around 1500g.

Glad this helped a few people out. To be honest someone else would put up this PSA if it hadn’t be me, I was just sitting in the office at work bored. So I ordered one and thought I’d share, this forum as I’ve bought some good some bargains on here with various PSA threads.

    Who needs Hotukdeals!!

You finally get Schwalbe One tubeless tyres mounted onto Pancenti SL23 rims using only your hands.

Mega happy tonight. Picked up the twins birthday bikes today and my daughter who has excellent balance bike skills was riding her Frog Bike unaided within 15 mins. A couple of runs in the garden then up to the park for more room, then she cycled all the way to dancing then back. What a way to remember your 4th birthday.

The little man is little behind compared to her with the balance bike skills but he has been riding feet up for a few weeks now, just needs a bit more practice and he’ll be off too. Balance bikes are awesome for learning to ride. I’m now totally convinced with them. Also the Frog bikes are brilliant too.

Pick up the twins frogs tomorrow for their 4th birthday. My girl is getting a 43 and the boy a 48. Both are feet up on balance bike but he is a wee bit taller.

It was transco when I put gas into my flat around 10 years ago. Cost me £250 but months later they compensated me £50 for changing the date. I wasn’t even that bothered as it was only a couple of days later.

I bought a wheel about 6 years ago and it arrived missing a spoke. This was using the custom wheel option. To be fair they did sort it extremely quickly.

@thomthumb that is why I ended up not going for the Pave 28s and bought the Pacenti SL23s.

Same here. Went for the Pacenti SL23 Volta 11p Hub Clearance deal on Superstar. Only £169.99 with Cycling Weekly discount code. Don’t know much about the hubs but this is what Superstar wrote on bike radar about them.

Ok here’s the deal. The hubs are our 11speed version but we have upgraded them again online with out tesla EVO mountain hubs, so these are the clearance 60 engagement ones. The rims are just the old sticker version.

Surely worth a try at that price. They’ll be a good upgrade over my Shimano R501’s that came on my Supersix.

Superstar Pave 28 are on my shopping list. New school wide road rims and decent weight.

Definitely check the drop. I thought I could fling on a set of Tiagra callipers to the Mrs bike but the drop was too short so I sold them on here and fitted a set of R451 callipers from Ribble.

When I bought my new road bike a few months ago, I just asked “this is my budget what are the options?”

Shown an aluminium bike and a carbon bike, the carbon bike was discounted already as it was a 2014 model but they offered me another £150 off which turned out to be £50 more than my budget. Too good a price to pass up, so I walk away happy with the price and the LBS is happy to shift this years model to make room for 2015 bikes.

No haggling required. I knew I couldn’t get a better price for the model I bought and I was also supporting a fantastic local bike shop

Dunno why all the hate for the bear, I liked it. The penguin is a bet meh, but reminded me what a catchy tune “Real Love” is.

@Johndoh, if it makes you feel any better I have twins who are about to turn 4 in a few weeks, also a boy and a girl.

My little girl is amazing but can have episodes now and again but it usually tiredness that can cause it. She went nuts at me when I was dressing her the other day because I didn’t make her laugh when doing so. I think it’s just part of them developing. At pre school Nursery we get told how polite and patient they are in class and we are doing a fantastic job but like someone mentioned above they save it all for us at home. The hardest part of the day is when I get them at lunchtime when Nursery has finished, they are not good eaters in the morning no matter what they try. My daughter has snacks at Nursery and my boy is a bit fussier and will only eat yoghurts at if thats on the menu at snack time. They just cry at me until they have eaten lunch and got the energy levels back up, then the rest of the day is normally cool. Don’t look for something that isn’t there and just like the others dads on here just keep on winging it. It’ll be ok.

    :)

Yeah I do agree guys it won’t appeal to all on here. It’s something my girlfriend has wanted to do for a while. She is looking to raise sponsorship as she lost her mum very young to this terrible disease. Sportives are getting more expensive, but it’s the atmosphere, closed road aspect and sense of achievement that really appeals to her and I’m going to support her by riding it with her.

@frackit cheers mate I have been looking around, it’s the rears that are weird. 255/35/18.

Cheapest on mytyres.net is £205.30 for a Pirelli P Zero and best price on black circles.com is £210.49 for a Yokohama Advan Sport.

I recently changed from a MK5 Golf to e91 3 Series Tourer. It’s a 2 litre petrol like frackit and it’s a comfortable cruising car. It has the M-Sport spec so looks pretty good to my eyes.

After having diesels for the last 10 years it’s nice to get back into a car that runs really quietly. The only downside is the cost of the tyres are the rears are an obscure profile in run flats so come in around £230 a tyre. I’m looking to changing to normal tyres but will need to do all 4 at the one time, after looking into it you can run normal and run flats on the same car.

    So far getting 34 mpg.

@mrblobby – Could of wrote that myself.

Twins are about to turn 4 in a few months. Boy loves a scooter really rapid on it, has fantastic balance on it and totally confident. Also has a Strider balance bike which he says is too wobbly.

Girl is good on both Scooter and balance bike but she loves her balance bike and can ride it both feet up and has excellent bike balance skills.

Both are getting Frog Bikes for birthday as they want a bike with pedals. Think the boy will need stabilisers to start with but the girl will be good to go with a bit of practice.

So it took just under 3 hours this morning starting at 10:30 on my MBP Retina. No issues so far but to be honest I pretty much just use it for browsing and watching videos. Safari seems a lot faster. All good over here.

That’s pretty good going Iain, any other ferry options on that last leg from Rothesay? We stay near Troon so would look at starting and leaving from Ardrossan if possible.
