Will i get a shit load of oil in my face is I try and let the air out without the pump attatched?

This is how i do it.

medium to fast pace, stand up and crouch (compressing the forks helps) a bit with your weight slightly forward. Then in a burst of super human energy snap your weight back so your arms lock and push your feet/ legs forward. Feather the rear brake so you dont go over. Best get your saddle slammed to practice. Try getting your bum to nearly buzz the rear tyre .

Doing it down a slight hill helps with momentum to.

    hope that helps

ss xc – 710mm – Fantastic for leverage out of the saddle..
Freeride 745mm- Good stability down the mega.

Put them in a sealed plastic bag and then leave them in ur freezer overnight. The cold temp kills all the bacteria that cause the shoes to stink.
I work every day in cycling gear. It works with shoes’, bib shorts , even jackets.

Drac I think you hit the nail on the head. Should a deaf person not be allowed to ride?

I see so many cyclists in London with their own blinkers on. They dont look back before manoeuvring. They dont look back for miles and miles and then they shit themselves when they hear something like a lorry behind them.

And Im pretty sure most motorists arent out to kill us.

I ride with one headphone in on the left ear but Id count on my sight and looking back more than hearing.

Wow quite a lot of anger out there. I'm a qualified cycling instructor. I teach children and adults safe riding technique for the road. I also love to drive my car and motorbikes and whenever im in a car im usually late for something .

I can see its frustrating for drivers but it is really much safer too ride defensively either in a group or on your own. For instance I would advise that when approaching a bollard or any other road narrowing on a bike you should move early to a central position in the road to stop cars or hgvs overtaking you at that point and squashing you. Plenty of adult students who also drive think this behaviour is obscene until they get caught with a hgv brushing their elbows as they squeeze past.

I also dont see the problem with two cyclists overtaking a parked car on a narrow road. Would a car overtaking not go over the white line?

I will ride at least a metre away from parked cars as I dont want a door in my face at 20mph.

It is not cyclists who have to change their views. It is the motorist. Cyclists have every right to be on the road and in fact were here before the cars became popular. And before you ask, yes I have cycling insurance plus I pay a very high level of road tax for my car. In Amsterdam if a car collides with a cyclist the motorist is almost always liable unless the car is stationary. This attitude will come to the uk over time.

What does piss me off about cyclist are those who skip lights especially in front of children, and those who ride recklously on the pavements. They give us all a bad name , yet motorist who do 31mph in 30mph zone seem to be invisible.

Ive been ghetto tublessing for the last year on my freeride bike and more recently on my light single speed.
The Co2 can is a must really.
I use stans sealant and even if the tyres dont feel that snug they seem blow up with a bit of jiggling. 😀
Also if your out on a trail and get a tyre burp ( hasnt happened to me yet but has to my friend in the alps) you'll find it super hard getting air in fast enough with a mini pump.
On the ss i only used one cup of stans as reccommended but i do find that the tyres lose pressure quite quickly. Ok for a long day out but i pump em every ride. Im gonna put another cup full in as the freeride bike never really loses much at all. Tubeless tyres help to .

I hate high roller 60as on the front . Super tacky is fine in the winter when it gets a bit slippery.
Ive always ridden at 25 to 30 psi front and rear. 35 – 40psi seems quite high. Im 75kg.
Running specialized Captains now on the xc bike. Loads more grip then my high rollers and seem more predictable when they are gonna wash.

Picked this up last year for £700. Was ridden once. Didnt have the xtr cranks, command post, xt front and rear mech or ashima rotors or high rollers.

Did have a sweet upgraded front wheel ( hoop and ea70 bars)

    Got it !
Used a vice. But still the bb kept twisting and popping of the tool .

Managed to use a bmx chain tensioner, which was just the right size with a couple of 5p coins either side of it to space it out . Screwed it into the axle and got a bfo spanner on it !

Bees should not be able to fly they said. for years and years. Yet they could right in front of our eyes. No argument. Just sight.

Open your eyes and take those blinkers off.

dasnut – go suck sam hill off.

And sbf, who the hell are those two moose pigs you put on this thread?

You need to ride with some hot chicks .

Fantastic. Girls love it when guys leer at them. It makes them just wanna jump straight onto your lap and say,' take me home with you, you flat pedalled leerer'.

I can see you would never change your opinion dude. Its all good.

for a start, you have to say efficiency of what
but for most of us, the limit to the power we can output is cardiovascular, not muscle power, so the pedals make no difference

having seen someone fall off last week at 2mph and get a spiral fracture of the upper arm due to brand new cleats (which I'd seen him adjust at least 3 times) not releasing I'm dubious of the advantages of spuds!

I saw someone once get crapped on by a bird and it actually hit their head because he wasnt wearing a hat. Im never walking outside bare headed.

and yet, with motocross bikes, singles, with the least smooth power delivery, work best ?

    so relevant here.

lets face fact here sfb . if you turn up to 90% of cycling race types wearing flats and telling people they are just as efficient as spds you will get some looks of distain and people will give you the bird as they go past you spinning smoothly up a hill whilst eating their banana with the other hand.

But if you dont race and dont mind having to put in more effort than clipped in riders fair play.

well, I envy you grown up real worlders while I languish in 2nd adolescent fantasy. I think.

they say ignorance is bliss dude. keep on trucking.

Only messing with you dude. As long as your happy with your set up. Just making statements that are blatantly male cow pooh leaves you open to banter. Which is what a thread like this is all about.

Ok if you wanna ride flat pedals and tell us you are just as efficient go ahead.

But for those of us in the real world clipped in is quicker, more efficient and for grown ups. Doesnt matter how good you are at pedalling or how big your leg muscles are.

Clipped in for SS , Cyclo cross , xc , downhill and freeride.
Flats for the BMX in the skatepark and maybe the odd DJ action to.

Clipped in. Dont **** about on flats if your wanna go fast.

do it. All your single speed buddies will be well jealous. I run a caldera frame with a 32t surly and 16t rear cog. Use a new kmc cool chain with 1 half link from a bmx. Chain stretched after a year but never came off. So just replaced with a new KMC for SSEC and was running sweet and silent!

Just get out there , ride , hit small jumps then hit bigger ones. Dont be afraid of stacking. Dont be afraid of throwing the bike and bailing. And stay of the brakes. I jump clipped in or on flats. Flats are the way forward if you are tricking no footers etc!!
Heres one of me clipped in on the step up in that Sam Reynolds video. CLipped In!

me and leggy blonde did afan 2 days in a row on the single speeds. 32/16 ratios. We flew past geared riders who were just sitting and spinning. Both of us had really sore arms and hands from pulling on the bars constantly though after 2 days.

I gave one of those cameras to Leggyblonde as a birthday pressie.
It works well. Comes with some awesome mounts that you can clip onto bars etc. Although gets a lot of vibration if mounted to the bike.

Impressive camera and is voice activated to so you can shout 'ACTION'!
    Micro SD.
