I’m in, see you chaps later (assuming I can re-fit the new calliper on my broke brake in time)

In depth journalism from the Beeb this morning, I’ll see Hebden in a different light now!

I can’t decide if the two are related

My thoughts exactly, its as if the OP has read the chapter on “polite euphemisms” in the STW textbook!
Still, sounds more exciting than my day!

OK, I’m going to have to bail on tonight, got a borked front brake which is leaking around the piston. I don’t have the time to investigate it tonight but with it being a shimano I expect its new caliper time (no damned spare parts….)
    Have a good one gents.

I loved that, best description I’ve EVER seen!

I’m still up for it. Just approaching Birmingham so should be fine for time. What time is “earlier” Binners, I’ll let you know if that’s feasible for me.
Bad luck Bregante, healing thoughts fella.
As for sun, there’s none of that on the M42, grey and miserable here…

Sounds good to me, will rely heavily on traffic not stuffing me on the drive back up north, but all things being well I’ll be there!
Silly question (as I’m sure it’s wet) but will wellies be in order?

Balls!!! I agree with the OP, he was one of the best parts of the beeb’s coverage. It really hacks me off that the bbc don’t hold on to good commentators and their coverage suffers for it, but I’m a stingy miser and point blank refuse the pay the amount that sky demand for their sports channels. Rod for my own back I know, but I’m still grumpy!!

Not that there seems to be a lot of hope, but if something does happen I’m game. Lights are charged and the bike is already filthy so I’ve got nothing to lose!

I’m game, depending on how terribly my work afternoon goes. I’m no use for guiding or route ideas though, but just tell me where/when to turn up.

There are hundred of videos on Youtube demonstrating the best way to “dispose” of said offending toy.
I personally can’t believe they’re back, of all the toys to have a renaissance I really didn’t think Furby would be one one!

    Cracking post!
I now have a combination of jealousy and inadequacy pangs, even if I had the technique to ride down those epic lumps of hill, I doubt very much I’ve got the legs to climb up them!
    Must get fitter…must get fitter…

Fantastic scenery, and some very good photos.
Well done OP, and keep at it!!

Wonderfully observational and completely true! I aught to send this to my parents down south, who’s patience of the ‘new’ locals is severely tested every time we get complaints about the farm machinery being too noisy, smelly, muddy, dusty or big. It’s fair to say that harvest is always entertaining…

Again, I’m no help on the suggestions front but I too keep resetting the damn thing. I’ve tried moving it around the bars and still seem to keep knocking it! Grrrrr

    Genius!!
But how many hours has that taken to cut together??
Not to mention the many hours of trawling through Hoff footage to find the right words.

This is a cracker of a thread! Reading it through while emitting loud snorts of laughter, so getting some very odd looks in the office at the moment!
Looking forward to the next episode in this devilishly romantic tale.

    I’ve got one.
Bought it in a sale in the middle of last year, and frankly I’m pretty impressed.
I’ve got nothing to compare my to though, as up until now I’ve always used walking jackets and berghaus stuff.
Bought it for all of the pit zips, and the fact that it looked and felt pretty hard wearing.
I’ve not taken a fall in it yet, but did in an old goretex jacket which was completely trashed!
The material feels a bit stuff, but it’s never caused me any bother and it comes with enough pockets to lose things in.
I’ve not found to to be too hot either, but temperature seems to be a very personal thing. It’s certainly cooler than my berghaus soft shell.
It hasn’t leaked yet ether, and I’ve never washed/reproofed it.

I’m in the same boat at the moment, but with household contents insurance, not just for the bike.
From what I can see; it’s a complete minefield of exclusions and small print.
Just when you think your found a good deal you read that they either won’t insure it away from home, or when its on/in your car.
And don’t get me started on the cost!!! 🙁

“I shudder to imagine what sort of a pub drinking session came up with this”.
Bit of a chuckle at that, but I think the off-road scooter was a pretty good engineering bodge!

Also, has the commentator taken a few tips from the Alistair McGowan school of humour? Reminded me of the good ol’ days of HIGNFY

I’ve got a pair of Links Mid, picked up in a sale last year.
I found I had to go up a size, but I have quite wide feet so that’s quite normal for me.

I see it, but it is so faint I can’t read it, possibly been painted over.

    Sound fishy to anyone??

I’ve had 2 P7 frames and both of them had dead obvious serial numbers.

“the elephant” seems to be the name of a large lump of rock off of Ballintoy beach.
It may have another name, but that was the one that seemed to keep cropping up!

    We’re staying in Glenshesk.

Just got back in from Cragg.
99.9% clear up there, a couple of small slushy bits but that’s it.
Didn’t do Lee, but can’t see why it would be any different really.

I’m a similar size to you, albeit a bit bigger in the chest, and picked up a medium venturi 2 jacket last week. That fits me fine, not too baggy and plenty of arm length. I know its a different jacket but the sizing should be similar.

I find it very hard to fault the service from Merlin Cycles.
Very competetive pricing and great communication.
Had a very positive experience recently when I had to change a set of Xt brakes under warranty, got the impression that nothing would have been too much trouble for them.

    Now my regular not-quite-local-but-the-nearest-thing shop!

I had the same situation a few months ago.
To be frank, I just bit the bullet and got it from CRC at the time.
Rosebikes.de also sell them for 19 plus shipping (but I dont know how much that is)
    clicky…
