Epping Forest @ 10’ish. Entertaing, dry rutted downhill tramlines, or dry + rain v slippery, or turn around and give up mud, or loamy stuff, or sand, all in 100 yards. Back just in time for a shower and up the boozer for the Spurs game. Get back after and pissing down so bike still in garden and almost clean already. Decent day all round.

’89 Kona Cindercone – commuter, slicks
    ’04 SC Blur
    ’06 Trek Fuel
    ’10? Carrera Vulcan – mud/winter

Blur is favourite but good weather only as rear clearance is v tight and 2.1 nobbies is biggest I can go

Removable tubeless valve core; fail to let all the air out of tyre before undoing and it goes off like a small rocket. Did find it 3 months later, purely by chance, at the far end of the garden.

    Got them from bikediscount.com

Did all the shaking and spinning as per Schwalbe instructions but had to use CO2, couldn’t get anywhere with my track pump.

40psi in them and feel fine, no Stan’s escaping at rim or valve or noticeable anywhere on tyre. Immersed and tiny, tiny, bubbles escaping from the tyre all over with no sign of the Stan’s.

Now the beads are in place I should be able to get them up with a track pump if I loosen enough to change the Stan’s over for fresh.

Maybe just a duff batch but thanks for all the advice.

Cheers guys, guess I’ll persist and see how it goes, bit more sealant and patience, keep fit pumping yhem up at least… Stan’s valve core looks a lot better than the Bonty one too, might get a few more of those. Got some Bonty Disc Race wheels unused in 6 months with Bonty Jones ACX tyres on have 20psi still in there but were ridden before that….

    Cheers guys,

just trying 1 wheel again. Swapped the Bonty valve core for a Stan’s one. Got 40psi in it and no noise or visible sealant escaping.

Immersion test and tiny bubbles escaping all over the tyre, not at rim/spokes/valve at all. Just needs a shed-load more Stan’s I guess.

Tubless ready? Having a laugh innit?

Cheers for all the comments. I’ve bought the Rhythms and Lizard Skin Softcells.

Reckon one of those would improve an ’04 classic blur?

Why so cheap anyway? 65% off 2012 prices?

    Don’t panic.
Air rises. Get caliper as low as poss, lever horizontal, fill from reservoir at top. Take your time, squeeze lever gently, watch bubbles, top up, repeat, takes ages but p’easy really.

Some may say yes, not so sure meself, fitted an XT HTII Cup to an FSA 386 Comet – by hand, just to see if it would fit, just took a whack with palm of my hand – and took me an hour to get the thing off again…

FSA comet is brill tho. Mud just falls off.

Thinking on the Nukes or maybe the Lizard Skins softcell.

    Anyone used those?

Reckoning soft(ish) style for me, 6ft and skinnyish by the way, at least the arms still are…

teenrat: Also used neoprene wrist and elbow braces – from the pound shop! Nice and toasty but not great for blood circulation…

    Animal?
mate had one of those, or similar anyway, older design with folding joint, bit like the dahon, looked proper quick, he stood on pedals to accelerate way from the lights and the thing snapped in half, managed to hurt his face and bollocks as both hit the road at the same time, holding the bars, feet clipped in, no bike in the middle!

Doable but you’ll need shedloads of disk space for the initial rip – even if you reduce size/quality later – and the faster the PC the better, could take days on the average laptop, laptop killer!

You can use RDP to connect to the WHS2011 server from another PC – just like connecting directly – but it looks as though you have to mnake a registry change on the server to prevent only the Dashboard displaying. Google for ‘WHS2011 RDP’ and you should find instructions for the reg change and opening the firewall, etc.
