Kane was trying to win the ball, going for a 50-50, over-zealous, not filthy

Robertson just lost his temper, a shocking ‘challenge’, obvious intent to hurt

It’s the cynical taking-one-for-the-team fouls to break up an attack that really piss me off

Also, is Obstruction still in the rule book?

Pfizer 2 just 3 days ago: sore arm. nothing else
Pfizer 1 back at end of Feb: couldn’t sleep for 3 days, severe fatigue like I’ve never had before, confused/anxious which was just plain odd: I *know* the microwave needs the door shut to work! Couldn’t concentrate at all, brain whizzing with odd flashbacks. Immediately followed by getting Shingles needing meds. Had that before but only very mild. Arthritis may be relevant.

    @jambourgie

I saw Alex Higgins play at the Crucible back around ’79/80. The crowd couldn’t smoke in the auditorium but the players could; Alex sparks one up and does half the cig in his first toke then exhales a huge cloud up into the rooflights with all the nicotine fiends in the audience leaning forward to get a sniff.

Went to the bar at the interval. Higgins rocks up to the players hatch at the back of the bar; he ordered 3 triple vodkas, downed one then took two back to the table.

That CyberPower spec’d above ain’t a bad choice for that money. Buying a similar box is the only way to get get a high-end graphics card at the moment and for the forseeable….

A 2070 got me 60+ fps on a 4k monitor; Dirt Rally 2 at highish settings.

A curved widescreen monitor is much better for driving games though and less pixels (3840 or 2560 x1440) doesn’t need quite so much graphics grunt.

Driving game; got a wheel/pedals/shifter/handbrake in the budget?

Kryton, I’m disappointed. Only 10? Two years since you started this thread and poured petrol on my own addiction; much worse since lockdown with my Ebay watch list being mostly

    watches…

Latest acquisition was a Chronologica carbon-cased diver which looked well cool in photos online but sadly looks like plastic in real life

yeah, nice Gecko’ that. Partial to names in italics, always looks classier. Got a Sumo 001 with italicised Automatic, the later ones just look cheap to me.

@DrP – Check with DELL. Latest I can see is a G3 3500 (2020 model) with 3000mhz RAM, earlier ones had 2666. Changed with BIOS updates maybe? Try CPU-Z to see how fast the memory actually runs? Note that you can also add Intel Optane *memory* – just used for caching – on G3s which may confuse the issue

    Specs suggest not….

DELL G3 specs…..You need a pair of sticks, 3200 will probably work but may cost more, 2 x 16 looks like the max

    Slots: Two SODIMM

    Type: Dual-channel DDR4

    Speed: 2666MHz

    Configurations supported:

Per memory module slot: 4 GB, 8 GB, and 16 GB

Total memory: 4 GB, 8 GB, 12 GB, 16 GB, and 32 GB

I actually bought the lamp @Kcal links to above. Quite happy with it – and cheaper when bought – but the thing is usb-powered which isn’t mentioned in the blurb

    Painey nails it.

Virgin box in modem mode. Cable to a separate router – put in middle of property for best location and experiment with that – then mesh, etc if you need it

‘Nice’ Tudor Pelagios on the bay, does say ‘not original Tudor’ in the desc and feedback/other items looks like a regular seller. I don’t get it, dodgy, out of copyright ‘homage’, what gives?

I liked his desk! lack of trees in the city….

Why are all these desks rectangular? Anyone made anything more ergonomic? Small rooms, utilising corners?

Spent all my working life using desks provided by someone else and getting worse over the years – hot-desking anyone? – so the last thing I want is to reproduce the old office style environment.

Somafunk: room looks great – apart from the worktop, a piece of real wood would have been better – but why are your speakers so close together, not even on the ends of the shelf?

    Fingerbang: reckon that’ll look good.

Thanks. Yeah, cheap structural ply 18mm, £37 a sheet. Was going to go with 2 layers till I realised how heavy it is so just added a double-edge for looks and to strengthen. Pot luck with the board quality, the underside has some bad knothole gaps. Edges were better than I expected though with only tiny filling needed. A lot of sanding then Danish oil with wire wool between coats to get the finish.
The missing curved bit hangs underneath as a cable tidy. Chromed legs off the bay do the job but a little lightweight, should have spent more there but desk is wedged into a corner so not a big issue.

Need a plan for the second sheet now….

HEVC extensions – as P-Jay says – plus a discrete graphics card is the only way to get 4K Netflix on a PC. The graphics driver contains the required HDCP software. Use CTRL-ALT-SHIFT-D in Netflix to see streaming details though the trailers/intros can be HD

    Prime still on HD.

    Youtube 4k is fine though…

Virgin here too, SH3 used in modem mode, working well with an ASUS RT-AC68U AC1900 (approx. £140) router. The ASUS was an upgrade on a 3-yr old TP_Link and made a lot of difference to wi-fi quality but location of the router is key.
