I’m just 2 miles down the road from there and its sandy, so just stay with the setup you’ve got, should need the others there.

Top section is open to the elements and the bottom has tree cover but should hold up fine.

I’m in Liss, loads of stuff here and happy to show you around and give you pointers on both road and offroad. Easier to show you though as the better stuff is not that easy to find/obvious. Mail me on my profile address but replace the spam with scott.

Already progressed from an MBK Aventure (flouro wagon), MS Racing Cromo LX then a 1990 Cinder Cone.

Pretty sure I was on my ’91 GT Zaskar LE, rigid forks, U brake rear, 261 ceramics on Pace hubs and a pair of AT4 pro bars, a bike a regret selling but then it just funded the next great one, a custom Fuquay.

Same as Hantsnightrider here, Fandango from Alex at mtbtandems.

Excellent advice, superb service and highly recommended though he does a 29er fandango these days. Proper nice bloke as we had dinner one night with him and his family when passing through Altanta a few years back. Definately worth emailing him to see what he can recommend or offer.

1987 Cannondale SM1000, flouro-tastic bike with roller cams and 15spd Suntour first generation index gears, highest BB on a bike I’ve ever ridden, it was like riding a circus bike.

Custom Fuquay built for me, Greg fillet brazed all of his frames and I had TIG welded one, lovely bike, sold for a pittance to my brother to buy school uniforms and shoes when I was skint, bought it back eventually but sold it on.

Pre-Trek Klein Adroit in a lovely candy red, rigid Klein forks and MC2 bar stem combo so a fairly early one. Very quick, sold to finance another bike but the one I’ve always wished I’d kept.

CW Pistol Pete race BMX, bought off my brother who raced for them in the day, still as was then but a bit rustier.

Plenty of good riding on quiet trails if you know where to look, what do you want to know? New the the area?

Easy job to do, parts are pretty readily available.Should be able to change the outer to a 19 too. Generally get my spares via the below for WI as they hold stock.

My sis in law lives up the road in Danville (nothing decent bike wise at hers though). I’m pretty sure the shops in downtown Walnut Creek do hire as I wanted to rent a bike when I was out there a few years ago but ended up buying a Bianchi SASS SS instead as it was a bargain. If you manage to find a bike, head up to Mt Diablo, theres a few trails up there, they shut the park gates on the road reasonably early but you can still get in on a bike. Unlucky on the timing too as the Tour of California goes up Diablo either this sunday or early next week.

The garage contains at present :-

    2 x 29er SS
    Geared 29er for touring
    LT Hardtail
    150mm travel FS
    MTB Tandem (w/Rohloff)
    CX
    Road bike
26in Beach cruiser with Nexus and Coaster brake
2 x BMX (inc old race bike)

But currently trying to find a bmx cruiser and a cheap fixie CX project to add to the collection!

I just use bib shorts under the 3/4s and when its that bit colder its just the same again bibs under the full length fusions.

Been using both the fusion 3/4 and full trouser versions for a while now. Use them pretty much every day to commute in, on and off road so pretty hard wearing so far, both can be a bit warm but the 3/4s have decent vents on the legs so temperature control is good. The only problem i’ve had was a flicked up stick/log pulling the seam apart for 6 inches on the front of my 3/4s, had to have them fixed by a seamstress friend as not any easy fix for me. I’d recommend them too.

Got a couple in our house, Angels is definitely one I’d recommend to start with.

Also got Revolver which is just out and out pain 15 x 1 min intervals with 1 minute recovery between them. Got to feel good before I even consider trying this one!

Bought a Madison Telegraphe at the Bike Show a few weeks back, had a few over the years but been very impressed with this so far and used it every day to commute in, breathable, plenty of useful pockets, pit zips taped seams etc.

The freehub froze on my road bike the other morning on my commute, Easton Vistas! Plan to sort/flush it through this weekend, so on the SS for the rest of the week.

Signed the petition too as I ride across there fairly often too on night rides.

The MOD’s land management guys have just started getting arsey down my way, its generally them thats the issue and not the MOD, both my wife and myself have had a run in with the same arrogant lm guy when walking the dog and riding but never get any problems with the army/cadets when we meet them day or night.

An hour and a quarter off road on the SS this morning for me, still hard ground frost here when I got in at 10.15 and the sandier trails were drying out all lurverly with the frost ripping all of the moisture back out. Colder than yesterday though when I was on the cross bike for an hour and 3/4 for a round the houses 50:50 ride in.

    Back to rain again tomorrow!!

Raasay Rumble, awesome location with good course but with the most amazing stretch of lochside singletrack but in horizontal rain, plus good beer and entertainment post race too.

The early dusk til dawns when they still let us tandems in, 12hrs on a tandem in the dark and still my best finish in anything with laps yet!

And finally a 24hr in spain held at the Elderado set at Coin, course nothing special course wise in epic rain but hotel rooms instead of tents, proper restaurant, just a very memorable trip.

Well done Cav, well deserved after an amazing year (best not mention the Veulta though). Also disappointed as well with the Danny Hart’s omission from the video round up though.
