I suggest a run the gauntlet style approach starting off at Gospoda (formerly the Battle Inn) and then just make your way further down the Oxford Road, seeing how long you last…

So these Chinese wheels then – who’s got them on a road bike and how are they holding up?
Severely tempted but have visions of me going downhill with wheels flying off in different directions…

Err no, not my website (or design) but came across this and built one a few months back.
The DAB link at the top gives a bit more detail about how to build one, and for a length of coax, its worth a go.

I like the idea of simplicity.

But if I want to hang on the wall, am I right in thinking I need to channel two power sockets in: one for the telly and one for the soundbar?
And then channel the other leads separately?

Yeah its the bridleway from the top of Pishill down to Dame Alice farm

    My faves:

    Dame Alice descent
Convent (or Nuns Run) as mentioned
    Young Offenders (from Park Corner)
and the one from the Oxfordshire Way down to the Stonor valley road

So 6 failed tests is opinion?

Well the “failures” weren’t enough to convince the federal investigation. And this evidence/ supposition/ opinion (call it what you want) has been around for a while now, once more resurrected conveniently before a major race. Its getting a bit boring.

So if the top blood doping expert thinks he cheated based on seeing the blood work, what more proof do you need?

Some proof, perhaps, rather than an opinion? That Ashenden interview’s been around for 3yrs and is regurgitated approx 3-4 weeks before the start of the TdF.
I for one would love to see Armstrong talking plainly about it, rather than in riddles. But at the end of the day, the federal case was dropped and this looks ‘small claims court’ in comparison.

I used to own two MX5’s. You tend not to take those clothes that you never end up using.

You needed two mx5s to carry all your luggage? That sounds like a holiday logistics nightmare.

If its the premium strap that’s stopped working, apparently you can use the Polar strap as a replacement (which is a tenner on wiggle) with the Garmin transmitter.

Not tried it, but there’s some stuff on the Garmin forums about it. And its my next step after battery change as mine’s started to go a bit haywire.

And changing tyres is easy, either pour away the sealent (wastes about a pound per wheel) or pour it into the new tyre. Either that or stop being a fanny and just ride on the same tyres.

This. Since going tubeless I have been less inclined to faff around changing tyres, which has made little or no difference to the majority of my riding (bar a few particularly muddy weeks over winter), thus saving me considerable time in not having to read “what tyres” threads.

It seems that most parents on here have considered the impact of taking their children out of school, and are not blindly assuming that there’s an annual entitlement of 10days in-term holiday per annum.

And the government’s (rather draconian) statement was aimed at parents that consistently take out their kids on this basis without any regard for the education system. And that I disagree with. But I also don’t want to be told that I can’t take them out if there’s a good reason.

Or Blackspire – which I found were easier to get hold of.

Its quite straightforward to save tracklogs files as a gpx and copy across. Courses however, don’t seem to transfer as well.

There’s been a recent update to garmin connect so you can create courses directly on there which seems to be the easiest way if you want a road-based route.

Been using an Osprey Momentum for the last 6mths which has been a massive improvement on my old rucksack – separate padded laptop pocket away from back.
Having said that, I try and avoid taking the thing home if I can.

    Toddler in tantrum shocker!

What exactly does the childminder expect – the waltons? As above I’d be looking at new childcare asap. Could well be combination of a phase/ infection/ teething, but certainly not abnormal!

Mountain High shut down this year.

Evans or AW are the best central Reading options but the trek to Pedalon is worth it imo.

I’ve got a decent 8×6 coming free in the next couple of weeks as we re-do the garden. Decent roof and floor (no chipboard) and will just need a new bit of felt. Based down south if you’re interested.

Since it was/ is so easy, and so common as a practice within NOTW, I am finding it hard to believe that other newspapers didn’t adopt similar practices?

Just ordered an Osprey Momentum as I’ve started to carry my laptop a bit more and the old rucksack’s getting a bit long in the tooth. It has a dedicated laptop space which is held away from the back so looks a bit more comfy. I too am not that keen on panniers, and commute on the road bike most of the time.

Even though I hot desk, I seem to find somewhere to stash a few bits – shoes and towel as a minimum, and laptop if in the office on consecutive days.

+1 for les grand pins – stayed there quite a few times.

Hossegor’s worth a look as well just north of Biarritz – there’s a campsite in the town and one a bit further out but nearer the beach. Will be quieter than Biarritz, but rammed if there’s a surf comp on.

Has anyone returned a bike at the end of the lease? With the new rules in place is there about to be an influx of 12mth old, hardly used £1k bikes onto the second-hand market?
And where will they sell them all?
