I think the new bronson is too similar to the nomad. Who needs 170mm fork for trial riding, thats what the nomad is for. Hope the new 5010 fills the bronson gap.

Does seem like an odd lineup beginning to appear – perhaps the v3 Bronson will be a popper version of the Nomad – from the geometry figures I’ve seen the Bronson has a steeper seat tube so may help with climbing.

    Colourways?

There is Colorway, because Yanks talk like that and don’t use ‘u’ in ‘Color’.

Or there’s Colour Scheme, or just ‘Colour’.

Lucky enough to have just sat in my local BMW dealers for the last hour and a bit waiting on a car to be scanned on their diagnostics machine (strangely cheaper that the indi @ £33!)

I can see where all the extra money goes on the dealers quotes now – stupid amounts of staff walking around and chatting, free coffee, plush carpets and toilets etc. Lovely if you’re into that type of thing – myself I just want to drop the car off, get it fixed /serviced as cheaply as possible using quality parts.

For example I have recently just had a set of rear brakes done for £150.00 using Brembo discs and pads – BMW wanted £379.99 using inferior OEM parts – a £220.00 saving which could of paid for the dealers toilet perfume!!

Ideally steep, handbuilt off piste trails though a mix of that and built stuff would also be grand.

No problem if you know where to look 8)

I’ve got the 1.4 150bhp petrol SEL estate.
Just over 7 seconds to 60.

Where have you got that 0-60 figure from?

For me it was like buying a house – as soon you walk in and look round you know if its right or not.

Obviously the one that felt right was the most expensive

If its been raining, like it is currently in the area (live in Llandudno) I wouldn’t touch Penmachno – its wild at the best of times and you find 1/2 of loop 1 is always wet even in the middle of the summer as the sun never really hits it.

Give Marin a go – it runs just as well in the wet as in the dry.

Not entirely sure but would think you’d be able to pick up a 1 series for that sort of price / condition?

I’m running a GX cassette – no creaking problems but I did make sure I greased everything before fitting.

I run a X1 chain on mine – read they don’t play very nicely with KMC chains.

The Snowdon ban is only between 10am and 5pm so you could push up just before 5pm and then ride down after 5pm – makes a lovely late afternoon / evening ride if the weather is right!

You could base yourself on the Llyn (beautiful beaches) and ride big peaks of Snowdon and Cadair Idris and then hit the trails of Gwydyr Forest (Marin / Penmachno), CyB and Dyfi (Climachx)

Avoid Florence in August, if my experience of the place is anything to go by. Millions of people, far too many to make it enjoyable.

Not my experience in August 2016 – went to Florence 21st – 24th August and whilst it was busy it wasn’t crazy busy and certainly didn’t ruin the experience of the city.

Florence is an amazing city – we loved it.

We flew into Rome, got the train to Florence, stayed there for 3 nights then got the train to Venice and stayed for a further 2 nights then flew out of Venice. We also did a ‘day’ trip to Pisa when we were staying in Florence – which to be honest was a real let down – nothing there apart from the tower :?

You need to buy the BB tool separately. All the tools for the crank installation come with the cranks.

    Lovely bit of kit.

£70 for a long sleeve white shirt with the word ‘tech’ in the title! No wonder they went bust – no real market for that type of commuting clothing.

I must of been under a stone for quite a while as I’d never heard of the brand before seeing it went under – probably another clue why they did go under.

    I’ll try again;

Its in the Greenbelt – no chance of planning unless Dudley revise the Green Belt in the near future (doubt they will).

Seems to me that the landowners are chancing their arm and advertising via an agent to see if they have sell to unwitting purchasers.

I’ve used the Fabric cageless bottle on my old SB66 – on the downtube – it didn’t miss a beat and was always solid (you can adjust how tight it clips on by tightening the actual bolts which in turn squeezes the plastic lugs).

Bought a smaller one for my 2016 Nomad but it didn’t fit so its going back. I have instead ended up with a metal bottle cage and an Elite 500ml bottle which seems to fit fine. Whilst the metal cage is heavier it looks a lot cleaner and simple than a plastic side loaded IMO.

Marin (now called Gwydyr) and Penmachno one day as they are relatively close together.

The other day I’d go Dyfi Climachx and Coed y Brenin.

    See my thread here.

After not really getting on with a Mary on the front and Hans Dampf on the back I ended up buying a vigilante front (light/high grip) and a trail boss (tought/fast). Good choice so far for the riding I do in N.Wales which is rocky, hardpack and loamy.

I’ve just setup a trailboss tough and vigilate light onto Hope Tech Rims with no trouble. Not had any leakage is 3 days so far.

I did use the new Stans Race sealant which, from previous experience, seals much better.

I took my wife to Florence and Venice last August for her 30th – we both loved it.

I was also looking at the Amalfi coast which looks stunning and could be combined with Florence for a beach and city break very easily.

Do you know how do they compare to the Ruffians in terms of thickness?

    Thanks for the replies.

Vigilantes are tough, and good in the dry, but I don’t rate them in the wet personally, particularly wet rocks.

Whilst (hopefully) not an issue coming into Spring and Summer some of my riding will be rocky – what type do you run?

Maybe a Convict light/high grip front and Breakout tough/fast rear is the way to go?
