I’ll be there but the conditions in many places around Peel Tower are treacherous. Walked the dog round there this morning and there is plenty of ice. And some snow, on top of ice.

Bloody awesome effort that Phil. 200 miles in those conditions, in that terrain is beyond amazing and out the other side!! Dead chuffed for you. Enjoy the glow that goes with doing something that us mere mortals can only dream about doing.

    You smashed it big time!

Jase puts in a stunning last lap to claim 2nd place! He only went and bloody did it!

Phil comes through in a brilliant 6th. Just waiting for news on Dave.

Just over 3 hours to go and Team JMC has 3 riders in the top 10. Jase has battled his way up to 2nd and has around 15 mins on 3rd. Nails.

Team JMC riders now 10th, 11th and 13th. Very steady lap times and little to choose between them. @budge_team_jmc

Very rarely post but just wanted to express my thanks to the organisers for putting a great route together. Tough course but lots of rewarding singetrack sections that helped to keep spirits up in the miserable conditions. Great marshalling with loads of encouragment from them all. Also a big thanks to all those who passed and gave me an encouraging comment. 11.5 hours and 66th place (23rd MV) – happy with that. Not sure I will do it again but I’m bound to reconsider in a few weeks time when everything has healed.

    Budge (the Team JMC one).

    RIP HTN

Even tho I expected this would be the last one it is still sad news.

All three I have done have been seriously cool events with a personality that no other event gets even close to matching – particularly if you're northern and like indie music, beer and bikes.

The company that imports your mud especially for the July events must be really gutted – who else will want several hundred tonnes of highly abrasive, fast setting mud at that time of year? If you find out let me know – I will miss the unseasonal mud!

Huge thanks to all of you for the enormous amount of effort you put into making sure that everyone who took part had a giggle, a real challenge and the odd serious fright.

    Top effort boys!

My first puffer and what a great event.

Huge thanks to everyone who put in a amazing effort to make the full course rideable. Special thanks to the two guys with the snow shovels still clearing the track during the race.

Easy to spot the tricky sections – just look out for the BBC film crew.

Their van was at Strathpuffer at the weekend.
