Overweight? LOL! You really reckon the weight of a saddle matters???

I use knee, elbow, shoulder and full face along with gloves and hip pads in my shorts. I think that the risk increases with how hard you are pushing your own limits, that said, you can crash as you have proven yourself doing the most ‘normal’ thing. I looked honestly at my riding style/ambition and bought and wear what I thought I was most likely to not need – hopefully!

Now is a good time to have a good think and as said research: Im 51 and my sons range to 16, no way would they read STW, but drown in gnarly edits, if Im your future so be it, if not, you need to ‘attract my sons’. I read a few magazines monthly and always enjoy the more light hearted content from mags such as MBUK more than STW.

I think the magazine aligns itself quite well with Cyclist (?) and Rouler. I wish though it had more ‘competition’ and light hearted fun content. Why not provide a ‘rad edit focus’ to online content and a quarterly Rouler style print copy? If you need to cut costs, yet maintain the monthly print, then why not lose the expensive binding, the mag is about quality of content, tbh, its a bit boring of late. This may also be why ad revenues are not looking so great.

Edit: what is and how old is your target demographic group now and target in 5 years? If its say 30 plus then paper will always win imho. If its younger then the future is sick edits etc.

I dont think the weight of the component is the issue, unless you look at the weight of the rider in comparison. This seems bloody bad luck. My road bike is the same frame and forks since 2002, its my only road bike and has been used winter and summer, racing or training. The frame is 02 my Alu (Spesh SWorks) and the forks carbon (same), Id never even contemplated life expectancy, food for thought.

But then look at the huge amount of brand discussion and awareness such a simple action on their part created.

Im taking the piss about the fact that Trek appears to be demonstrating its a fair employer by urging women into a predominantly male environment. Then puts something stupid and in my view sexually demeaning like ‘tag your favourite and share the love’. Maybe Im over thinking it.

Come on, its there in a nutshell suit. Last line below, ‘Tag your favorite to spread the love’. Really? Some girls – sorry companies will do anything for a click these days. Politically correct social networking is exploiting women for there sex, its a disgrace, boycott TREK!

Most worrying is that he and Trump apparently spent a lot of time discussing wind farms in Scotland. I was wondering when Trump would turn his attention back to Scotland, like some great, dim-witted eye of Sauron

    Read this;
https://www.wsws.org/en/articles/1999/02/scot-f03.html it is old but sets out how US citizens with Scottish past see Walter Scotts stories and Braveheart the movie as factual recollections of Scottish life.

Its not available online anymore but the recent documentary proving the founders of the KKK and much of the Southern US slave trade to be Scottish was fascinating; http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b07yjk0j

“The Scottish National Party raises support and maintains an office in the US, and its recruiting leaflets are circulated at Celtic fairs and events. Hague warned them: “Scottishness in the USA is tied up in a politics much further to the right than the SNP advocate for Scotland. Perhaps this could come back to haunt Scotland, especially as the feeling is that American Scots should have more say in Scottish affairs.”

I fear we are in for a shit storm of very misled ‘Nationalism’ Scottish, US and English

Rapha is hardly a part of the UK or world road cycling heritage is it? Its been around for 10-12 years and is lucky that a. Sir Brad, b. sky and c. pompous media and websites align with its roady is the posh/elite end look.

So does this mean that previous comments about the frames being 1:15 faulty are in fact wrong?(From memory caused by the rear shock mounts being welded to far forward). In fact it was the shock all along, or have I missed something?

    HI Guys,

I’ve only just been made aware of this feed:

The QC issue is a result of the front shock mount being welded 1 -1.5mm further forward (towards the head tube) than it should, we’ve had around 15 bikes returned from thousands sold. The issue has been rectified at the factory and anything from here on in will not be affected. The fixes I have are: 1.) I have a small number of replacement frames, but some of these were damaged in transit so I’m waiting for some more. 2.) I have offset bushes, these will move the rear shock back to the correct position and is an easy fix.

stores are aware of the issue and will be able to help you.

once again sorry for this, and as i’ve said it really is a small batch issue and the buzz is just that and will not stop you mid ride etc.

    Best regards,
    Mike

If you take those 3 and ‘TG/GT’ seriously you could easily tear it to pieces. However of you like cars, geezer banter, and are happy to drift through it, its a laugh. In a world of X Factor/Celebrity/TOWIE/Strictly/Soap saturation, its a breath of fresh air to be honest.
