Looking at the video, they were passing parked cars. As such, you should leave 1.5 car doors width, copper was wrong and being a tad pedantic. Only thing the cyclist did wrong was to call him Sir as he wasn’t an officer, soz

I u8sed to ;live in Chi & also Pagham too. Traffic around Chi is grid locked quite often these days. The main ‘benefit’ of Chi is to live inside the walls per se. Then you dont have to drive and you can enjoy the city. This is expensive. If you live outside, you can spend ages trying to get inside if you see what I mean.

    Road riding, excellent
MTB, better in the winter IMHO as the ‘deer trails’ are easier to find. Otherwise you tend to get lumbered with the SDW. Though Queen Elizabeth Country Park isn’t far and is a giggle
Track riding you have Portsmouth track and Calshott Spit

Having been MTBing around the Hebden Bridge area, Id always aim for the Peak side of Sheffield if it were me

If you do move to Chichester, ping me a message and Ill gladly pass on details of some local cyclists who would be happy to ride with you on or off road

Welsh comes from the Anglo Saxon for Waelisc, they called all the Britons this when they settled here and as they pushed the ‘Waelisc’ west they became known as the Waelisc which actually means ‘foreigners’.

Does anyone know where the word for Welsh comes from?

Slack hardtail. But really slack. I just slackened mine to 63.5, at BPW it is absolutely bomb proof, climbs well too elsewhere. I dont think the boundaries of slack have been found. Look at some of the BTR vids too. I think the handling relationships between HA, SA, CS and WB are not yet totally exploited! No idea how to build a bike, its just a gut feel. People assume that a long WB slack HT will not handle like a shorter WB more traditional one but, they dont know as they dont exist.

Get it done, change the world!

Decline was the Nth American equivalent of Dirt magazine, more gravity orientated.

Surprised that’s gone as it was full of Ad’s, I stopped buying it as got fed up of going through 10 pages of Ads Btw actual articles!!

That was/is why I quite like digital, because the ads move. Its fun to watch videos embedded in a magazine – for me anyway. Decline is quite a good read IMHO. e.g. the Polygon/Suntour article

Nope, I have recently got my HA down to 63.5 unsagged and would never go back to as steep as that.

I used to do a lot of drag racing with a street legal Mustang, I ended up selling it for a discount to trade as it was so modified, I wasn’t convinced it was safe to sell to someone without experience of a hipo RWD car. Just get rid of the damn thing! Motorsport is a £ sponge and you really didnt expect much of a return?

I’ve bunny hopped a cobra before.

The most gnarly thing Ive ever heard. I have a patch of wood that has zombies in it, there is also a crocodile that turns into a fallen log when you ride past it.

I once got a long bendy twig thing caught in my rear mech which sounded like something running along beside me, when I tried to out sprint it before it hacked me to death it just kept up, hellish scarey

To be frank, trundling around at an average of 11mph, you might as well be on a 3 4k 5k bike as a £700 one. Most riders wont get anywhere near the limits of their ‘rigs’ so spending more money matters not a jot to them, image you see. Look fast at the pub.

People who think retard is an acceptable term.

Its a widely used term of abuse, get over it.

Please may I have a coffee.

Honestly, the standard of pedants is dropping around here.

‘Can’ is more often used in adult to adult conversation, it politely requests the ability to provide the cup of coffee. ‘May’ along with ‘might’ suggests there is a smaller possibility in your request being granted. ‘May’ does sound more polite even though a tad weaker as a request of a serving person but I was not arguing that point. Such timidity post Brexit is alarming.

I just use a chain retention device, then you can use what or whichever rings and chains as you want more or less. MTBing is complicated enough as it is without worrying about chainset incompatibilities.

People who go into a cafe and order by saying e.g. “can I get a coffee?”

“Of course you can you prick, its a **** Starbucks you retard, but would you like one?”

    If so, say

“Please can I have a coffee?” or “Id like a coffee please”

“Can I get a Mars bar?”, “No, **** off!”

When it comes to cycling I am incredibly cynical when teams dominate. This has spilled over in to many other sports for me unfortunately too. But the motorised doping is just incredible. Reading the colournoise post above I found this: http://www.typhoonbicycles.com/pages/technology/

I mean surely weighing wheels and frames and speccing them to manufacturers stats is a simple thing to do?

I think that there is a dominant geometry software calculator designer package thing being used where all bikes end up looking very similar. Bit like cars do…?

I was wondering exactly this the other day. I reckon we’ll get a big fat nil points from everyone (except probably Malta

Malta you say? Being the same Malta that is currently charing the EU and specificallyvstating we should get a bum deal?

I reckon the Ukraine might chuck us a bone as we did support them against the Russians.

I would rather a ride and a few pints in the local.
I do not get the spend more and total P*ss up culture.

The idea is that you do something which you won’t really have the opportunity to do once you are married.

These will all go once he is married.

Edit. a mate just got back from a Birthday party (!) to Amsterdam, it was £8 per pint… 🙁

Im struggling to let this thread go, it is though I suppose time to move on. This did kick the BPW refunds thread into a cocked hat. Sanny, how about a top 10 cretin driven threads review? We are after all in the internet age
