It keeps chopping off the second half of my posts?

I didn’t really feel like eating anymore by the time we had our break at 0230 at a foreign ambulance station

I use a hair trimmer, always make sure i buy one that is 0.5mm without any attachments, some are 0.8mm and it all makes a difference

It not really fair that we have seen what May is like 40 years on…

You have to have respect for May, GnR didn’t really bring anything new to the game did they?

Oh, and my actual vote goes 50/50 between David Gilmour and Matt Bellamy (local lad)

Triscombe really does have some great trails, the wet roots really do keep you on your toes in the winter, and i’m not disappointed at all by the Q’tox, I just miss the granite sometimes

My LBS just price matched CRC without me even asking. Sorted

Siegfried Line? Would I get to that by continuing down the first half of the Nutcracker, not taking the traverse across to the trail that leads down to the bridge too far, and crossing the road?

I miss Dartmoor a lot, the Quantocks are amazing but just not the same

OP, what bikes do your mates or people who ride the same area ride?

    Bucko

As above, it seems that you really need to have a think about what type of bike you want before you start picking specific models. Those are 3 very different bikes

I always have a pint of skimmed milk after a long or hard ride, if I don’t then my legs are no good the next day. There’s plenty of sugar in milk already IMO

Non stealth is what I’m after, same as the OP

I think that’s what I’ll do, it’s booked in for some work next week so maybe they could fit it at the same time too

They were £160 during the Black Friday nonsense, wish I needed one then

    Bucko

So is £180 the cheapest around at the moment?

    Bucko

I actually quite like the look of the Lobo, maybe 6 litres is all I need for local stuff as my 16 litre is still usable for longer days, just tatty.

Osprey look great but there’s just so much choice and there’s nowhere nearby that stocks them

    Bucko

That’s a good discount but I’m not after anything with back protection. The Osprey Raptor looks good but it appears to be discontinued?

    £10 cheaper at Winstanleys

I’m after a 30.9, 380, 125 drop non stealth with RH lever and that’s the cheapest I’ve found. The German sites aren’t cheaper anymore like they were when I bought my last one nearly 4 years ago

interesting indeed. The 27.5 ones don’t seem to get the same warm feeling with folks raving about them that goes with the 26 version, which I find a bit odd…

Isn’t that because the folks who rave about the 26 are still riding their 26 with little intention to move to any kind of 27.5 anytime soon?

As for the size issue, I’m 5ft 9 with 31 inside leg and my M is spot on with a 50mm stem. Nice and compact and ‘chuckable’. I hope that is of some use

Am I missing something? How do we know it’s not lighter?

(oh, and does anyone remember the particular jacket spud van on Torquay harbourside back in the early 2000s that served the drunken revelers? That was awesome)

Yes, we knew him as ‘the jacky P man’. (Original I know). Very fond memories, especially drinking the melted butter out of the tray at the end. Yummers!

As for the question, for me it’s the combination of the chicken breast, stuffing and gravy.

I haven’t actually looked, sorry, but doesn’t the 909 come without a dropper?

£2k gets you a very good quality hardtail! Have a look at Bird Aeris to see what it could get you in full suspension, you’ll be surprised

How muddy is it that a normal mud tyre won’t do? Do Maxxis still make the Wet Scream?

Maybe fit something with softer rubber up front, where the wear rate is typically less (like the GP4 you already have?) and shove a Gatorskin on the back if you can tolerate the tradeoff in rear grip for puncture resistance…

Thats sort of what I have done, the GP4 on the front is still going great but I’ll have to see how I get on with the cheap Lithion 2 on the rear. If the Lithion is no good then I’ve learnt my lesson and I’ll happily spend more next time

Just got around to inspecting my GP4 Seasons that punctured again last night, wanted to make sure it wasn’t a bit of crap stuck in the tyre causing recurring punctures. There is a 1cm open gash in the main tread! So as far as I’m concerned nothing would’ve stood up to that. So for that reason i think it’s worth giving the Lithion 2 a go for £11.

Cheers for all the advice guys, if my £11 turns out to be wasted then i’ll probably go for a Pro4 Endurance or a Durano + or DD.

Yeah I’ve heard the reputation of the gatorskins in the wet. Those Durano DD’s look great, only 295g and probably worth a go for £27 I reckon. I take it they’re gripper and nicer to ride than the gatorskin hardshells?

I just can’t do it to myself, I love how the bike rides on 250g tyres, Marathons are definitely out. I ride mainly A roads and through town centre in winter, sometimes diverting through the odd B road

We had a similar idea back in July and ended up settling for Nandos in Merthyr followed by beers (lots of beer. And cider) back at the campsite.

Let me know if you find somewhere as we’re planning another trip this July

BHP is less important in diesels but I’ll let someone else talk about that. The Accord estate is proper nice, I just couldn’t find one I liked in the short time I had

My CTWS is up to £2500. I just can’t afford to pay that back over 12 months. My mate just got a Spesh Enduro, another got a Trance 2 last year. I wish I was younger and still with the rents!

I bought a couple things from their sale last year, I noticed the site was down a couple months ago. No idea why
