Do some research on dogs and wheat intolerance, and then look at how much wheat is used to bulk out most dry dog foods.

I think most people would be surprised at how bad most popular dry dog food is. Take a look at this website http://www.dogfoodanalysis.com/dog_food_reviews/index.php if you want a bit more info before deciding on what food.

I feed my springer on Skinners Field and Trial Hypoallergenic after realising how unhealthy foods like Bakers, Wagg, Pedegree, Eukanuba, Iams etc were.

You’ll find with a cheaper food that you will need to feed them more in order for them to get the nutrition, so it’s sort of false economy. A £25 VAT free sack of Skinners lasts my Springer about 6 weeks.

That probably doesnt help you at all with your original questions about puppy stuff but that’s just my thoughts on dog food.

I have been eyeing them up on CRC, with a 10% voucher they would be £70 for the set. I just didn’t know if they were any good or not

The pads are fine. Looks like I may have to learn how to bleed brakes then, I need to rule that out I suppose

Thanks for the responses guys. It’s nothing to do with the coffee or the switches. I’m doing everything right but only getting a couple drips from the shower. I suspect it’s an air lock or a faulty solenoid.

Looks like its going to have to be returned for a replacement

Any suggestions for good viewing spots? I was thinking of popping up with the dog for an hour or so

My head may explode soon. I think we all need to wait and get financial advice and just do whatever is best for everyone, whether we keep the big house or not. It’s too complicated for me to understand rigt now.

    Cheers for the suggestions guys

Alright Luke, very long time no see.

Gravity Bike are holding a Transition demo day up at Haldon this Saturday 9th. There’s a little about it on the Exeter Trail Riders page on Facebook. Could be worth a look

@carl, mine is on the 25th. I really need to start being more sociable again, I’ve been riding with my dog for the last 6 months as my rides are at such random and irregular times. I also lost my phone and all my contacts last July/August which didn’t help. I would love to tag along to Afan, and organise a Dartmoor or Quantox ride. We should definitely sort it out.

I know Teachers is awful but unfortunately it’s created a whiskey gag reflex that I can’t control

I hate to say it but I think you’re right m0rk. February is a crap time for a birthday.

I haven’t drunk whiskey since stealing some Teachers from my grandads cupboard when I was 17, put me off for life.

Obviously I will be doing the traditional night out on the lash, probably going out for a few meals and a few nights in with my favourite beverage. I’m just thinking about a day or 2 on the bike.

To be realistic though, everywhere will still be a quagmire so it’s probably just going to be as planned, a couple epic solos on Dartmoor and the Quantocks

I’ve walked the dog up haldon a few times this week and today, it depends which side of the hill you are on but they are dryish in places, damp in places and very boggy in places. So basically expect to get muddy but its not all bad

@Zelak, I also do all my riding on 1×10. With a 32T chainring I’ve never missed my granny ring once.

Carl we really should. I’ve been very unsocial for the last 12 months, injuries, lost mobile phone, new job and a now 7 week old baby are all severely limiting my riding time so I’ve been riding solo as all of my rides have been very last minute.

I’ll give everyone a sit rep on The Cleave conditions if I get out on Sunday but I’m pretty sure I’ll need wellies…

So nobody has been over East Dartmoor recently? I might risk a dog walk around the cleave on Sunday

I’ve been thinking the same thing recently but I end up just riding around the blue and red at Haldon rather than risk drowning in a sea of mud.

I’ve bought another pair of cordless Philips today, similar to my old ones. I really like to ease of cordless, I take them on holiday, weekends away, to work if I cycle in and need a shower, it’s just easier.

I really don’t have a lot of hair left, and I cut it every 2 days so the extra power of a Wahl plug in set isn’t required. I was just after advice on what cuts the shortest but I realise now that 0.5mm is about as short as I need.

I give it a couple years before I’m on here asking for wet shaving tips…

    Cheers

Maybe not a gimmick, it’s just that after 10 years I’ve never had a problem holding and using a normal pair of clippers.

It’s a real shame about the Wahl Balding clippers but I really do need cordless I normally cut my hair over the bath/shower and there’s no plug in the room.

Cheers so far guys. I’m holding off wet shaving my head for as long as possible!

The Wahl Balding clippers are mains powered, I really need cordless.

I also really don’t like the gimmick of the 180 degree rotating head on the recommendations above, sorry.

Looks like it could just be another set of normal Philips ones similar to my old clippers.

So, have we decided if these are any good yet? I’m after some new brakes for my winter Inbred.

At Haldon the man made trails are holding up great, just lots of standing and running water. The cheeky stuff is very, very bogged out.

Or maybe I should just buy a 500 quid banger and deal with the consequnces.

That’s what I did 12 months ago. So far the only “consequence” has been new tyres, wiper blades and a new headlight bulb.

They’re second hand, came on a bike I bought from the classifieds on here about 9 months ago. I have already replaced them with some cheap Rockshox Recons, I just had a second thought when holding them over the wheelie bin but that’s where they are going now.

I’m just lucky I discovered the crack, they’re on my winter SS/Dog walking bike for short blasts around Haldon and Woodbury so it’s normally covered with an inch of mud.

    Cheers guys.

    You’ll get Core i3 / 4GB RAM / 500GB HDD for under £350

Cheers. After a lot of research I have come to this conclusion. Now it’s just trying to find the nicest laptop for 350 with that spec

I briefly went into PC World today to look at some, I didn’t ask for any help as I was short on time but I sort of worked out that 350 will get me a very good laptop and the HPs look pretty nice.

I didn’t see the ‘Back to Earth’ stuff, was that supposed to be series 9?

Have I missed anything important with the story between series 8 and 10?
