Assuming the injuries were of the same degree(unlikely but since we’re talking in hypotheticals…)

If this happened on the road (a mixed use right of way) there would be no debate. Don’t see why there would be in this case.

That’s a shame, this jacket got good reviews and I was looking at it for my next jacket. Back to the drawing board,I guess.

    Isn’t the hood removable?

I’m not rad enough to read MBUK.

I find all of them hit and miss, tbh. I have bought quite a few issues of MBR just recently, their current Riding Basics and the regular How To articles are useful for noobs like me.

So many of them are geared really heavily towards ‘what you should buy this month’ I sometimes find it a bit depressing.

    Hard lines, dude.

Will keep an eye out for the bike or any bits from it coming up in the usual places.

Buy Kiwi knives, tell the wife they cost as much as the Globals that they outperform, spend the rest on bike bits

Could have gone either way in the end, had an air of inevitability about it once Nani got the red, unfortunately. Should have the experience to know you can’t risk raising your foot that high with a European ref, rightly or wrongly.

Mourinho after the match was pretty funny, a lot of the time you hate him when he’s in charge of the other team and think him a ****t, if he’s in charge of your team, well at least he’s your ****t.

Well done mate, great little video. Ignore those picking holes, you’ve achieved something there that many don’t.

Bike looked nice in the end, those of us that can look beyond whether the name on the tube is trendy or not know that Carrera hardtails are decent.

Did you film with camcorder or Go Pro? Look forward to the first ride video if the latter.

This is the point at which Operation Deep Cover reaches the endgame.

In the 5th minute of injury time Agent Ronaldo fires an unstoppable shot into the Madrid bet, tearing of the white shirt to reveal a United shirt underneath and keeps into the living arms of Uncle Fergie.

    It’s our only hope…

I’ve been it off action for about six weeks. First ride on new rig is… Friday!

That being said, they only decent tyres I have at the moment are mud pluggers, so it’s not all bad.

Definitely get her to Decathlon if you can, their budget bikes, especially road bikes, are outstanding.

Get the usual bellowing as people drive past, novelty has worn off now.

People hanging out of the passenger side of cars telling me to get a car are also a favorite, usual response is, “same to you”. Usually gets them to pipe down.

Worst one was when I was out on road bike with my girlfriend, couple of girls in an open top beetle drove past and squirted us with super soakers. It shocked my girlfriend and she almost went into the kerb, the red mist descended, I caught up with them at the junction and dumped a litre bottle filled with High5 Zero over the pair of them and the cream leather interior.

Was worried after the adrenaline wore off (criminal damage etc) but saw them in the same car the next day and they looked sheepish and ignored me!

Any Japanese bikes of a certain vintage will work fine, Honda CB500 etc. All the potential project traditional bikes (Norton etc.) are silly money now.

My view is that using something like an 80’s Jap bike is more in keeping with the original ethos whilst advancing cafe racers as a category. Something mid-80’s, twin cylinder and Japanese is what I’d go for, seen some interesting builds that started of as Yamaha Viragos and Honda CX500s.

There is a loop round Digley Reservoir just up the road from Holmfirth, nice little ride but it’s probably only 1.5 hours or so. There’s also a route around Langsett Reservoir a little bit further out, haven’t done it myself but it’s supposed to be a nice route.

Failing that there is Saddleworth just over the hill, nice bits and pieces round Denshaw and Uppermill.

    IME, slim but possible.

This error code is often used by drivers in lieu of ‘couldn’t find the address, didn’t want to contact adressee’. The chance you have got is down to the fact that the reason given by then (address in wrong format) is factually incorrect thus a lot easier to prove than them saying delivery was attempted and the guy wasn’t in.

Glow by Reef falls into this category for me. One of the first CDs I bought for myself, not bought anything by then before or since, on an old mp3 player I transferred the contents of to my phone and it really is a belting album that I’d almost completely forgotten about.

Hello Nasty by The Beastie boys has been on damn near every time I’ve got in the car since MCA passing away, after many years absence.

It’s also interesting that nobody seems to like the idea of starting with a “small” bike and progressing to “bigger” bikes as your skills develop.

That’s exactly what I’m doing, started on an entry level hardtail, upgraded forks, brakes, chainset etc. as I went Those parts are now on a 120mm fs frame, finishing the build tonight. It’s worked perfectly for me and genuinely felt like I was ready to make a step up.

Don’t imagine I will ever go much bigger than 140mm or so though, something like a Norco Sight, anything above that it’s going to be too geared towards the downs and stop me enjoying the ups as much (I think). That will come in many years and is way down the list behind some skills days and so on.

Sounds like skills are where you need to look, maybe there’s something you can do to the bike config in the mean time to make it feel more ‘right’ for your riding though?

I’ve always thought it would be best to have room to ‘grow into’ the abilities of your bike, our at least be comfortable with the limits.

The thing with telling yourself you’re not good enough for your bike is when will you ‘know’ that you are? I’d wager that every single bike owned by every member of this forum would instantly go faster put in the hands of a top pro, does that mean you’ll only be good enough when you’re at their skill/fitness level?

It’s only ever going to be self defeating thinking this way, try and move your focus to something more positive.

the black is the only non-HP one

This may be your issue, original carts and remanufactured/refilled ones mixed together sometimes cause problems, I’d try replacing the black with an original and see if you still get the issue.

I give basic support for printers as part of my current job and this is cropping up more and more, never used to be an issue so I suspect it’s been built in by the manufacturers.

Not wanting to be dramatic but would it not be best to get to the doctor about this? Might be nothing but better off being checked out than not, no?

Just to clarify, pretty sure the reply above means take the pads out then clean the calipers with silicone spray. Don’t clean the pads with silicone spray, whatever you do!

I can get screens at cost price from the place I work at, so I might work on getting that past her. The idea of covering the window with a roll down one means we could have the screen on the same wall as the TV, which might swing it.

Even 350 is going to be out of the question for the next few months (recent periods of sickness mean our party packets are a bit light for a month or two) but we have got a pair of studio monitor speakers not being used at the moment, would connecting them to a receiver give a decent stop gap solution and the pick up some half decent 3.1/5.1 speakers down the line?

If it shows up on your PS3 as a USB mass storage device the files need to be in a top level folder called ‘videos'(I think) in order for the PS3 to recognise it. Or at least it did the last time I tried to put anything on from a physical drive.

XC is where it’s at for me. I live in Manchester so the riding is Hebden, Dark Peak, Gisburn mainly.

Funds are tight until April, but the price here seems too good to miss. Is spending more (say £150 off the top of my head) going to get me a lot better options? Or would I just be paying for the same level of kit with a more trendy name on?

Sorry for all the questions, first time buying wheels.

Does/has anyone used the ‘Walleva’ lenses available on ebay? Looking at photochromatic lenses for a pair of Jawbones and they are quite a bit less than Oakley branded lenses.
