I did consider that, but I’d just be moving the problem, as the only place I could put the shower that would help; would then displace the throne. And the waste for that would be even harder to move.

Ha ha. Yeah I was thinking about adding another stair to the staircase, raising the whole first floor, and shortening all the doors; but I’m quite tall.

Great day on Saturday until my hub axle snapped (new one on me that).

Surely races of that format are made for The Highlands/The Lakes/Wales and should be the future of the sport. Great atmosphere, enough riding that you don’t feel short changed, but still plenty of techy speed!

Bought a very cheap one that was effectively a fake leather iPad pouch with a strap that went round the headrest rails. I was sceptical as I had wanted a proper solid mounting, however it worked a treat.

Unfortunately it has taken 4 months of councilling and brain electrocution to get over the trauma of 2,000 miles of Peppa Pig in my ears… Very quiet 2 year old though.

Think I got this for my 12th Birthday (1990). Raleigh Mirage – 21 gears don’t you know!

Followed by this in ’94. Kona Cinder Cone (although I had RS Mag21s on mine).

    Halcion days!

.. I have to say they’re probably the nicest bunch in cycling

I’ve found the “nicest people in cycling” are generally the ones that just ride bikes about the place, regardless of their head angle, length of travel or whether their car was made in Germany or not.

Coincidentally these folk are usually the fastest as well.

Edit: Can’t help feeling this thread (and in fact nukeproofriding) is a wind up.

36 Float RC2s, 1×10 Saint Shadow+ mech and shifter, CCDB, tubeless, Reverb.

Was going to go weight weeny on everything, but I’m a “sturdy” fella and wanted a bit of strength/durability. Haven’t weighed but I’d guess at getting on for 33-35lbs. Gets the thighs burning up, feels fantastic everywhere else!

I’m sorry to say I’ll miss this Rob, I’m away on a course. Good to see the mean streets of Cowal getting some coverage though!

I have to say I’ve found this thread highly entertaining, and at times fairly chilling. I can’t say I’ll be lying in bed at night from now on fretting about small hatchback driving Baptists with a good handle on their local geography though… I’ve watched scarier episodes of Peppa Pig. :-)

You seem to use STW exclusively for selling stuff and slagging off Northwind neallyman. Swoon…

    Have you tried:

    1) Adjsting the collar a bit. Moves the pin up and down minutely.
    2) Very slightly loosening the two screws that hold the pin housing on. I used to find if they were too tight it stuck.

Aye that’s what I’ve been doing. It’s more the fact I have to do it at all, I’m assuming the LEDs are sealed units.

    Cheers

Shooting from the hip here, the speeding (and careless/dangerous) element is managed by the Police in the form of camera vans, patrols, etc. What is done (generally, not specifically by traffic cops) about the clueless drivers with no awareness of what’s going around them; not all of them non-local tourists either?

To me that’s the problem. I don’t think the clown in the right hand lane of an empty M74 going at 60, or a foot behind the car in front on the A82 at 40 is any the wiser, and I don’t see that sort of behaviour being tackled*, despite the accidents it must cause.

*I once saw a Police RR flash up “use correct lane” on their rear display about ten years ago on the M6.

I use Remax in Shawlands and I really can’t fault them. Never had a tenant gap in 4 years of more than a day or two, fixed the few issues I’ve had without fuss or excessive cost.

Quality thread for bringing out the usual responses.

Philconsequence, what about Drivers 1,2,3 and 4 proceed at their own pace (well below the NSL, but that’s their choice), BUT leave a reasonable gap between each other so that Driver 5 can safely overtake one or two at a time when conditions allow. Doesn’t happen, for the same reason people don’t merge properly at lane closures. Many people on the British roads are small minded and have no appreciation of the world around them.

Hmm. I agree in principle with mboy, however I’ve seen a few folk recently getting away with top only due to clutch mechs. Just building a new bike and can’t decide whether to play safe or try it. Anyone ridden any DH, the Mega, etc with top and clutch?

It’s straightforward enough, the CO2 levels are in bands, then it’s a simple calc against value.

The tax is a calculation of list price of the vehicle and the CO2 emissions in bands. So yes, in all likelihood the more powerful car may be cheaper tax, or at least the same tax if the cars a bit more expensive. If you see what I mean.

Quite a handy calculator on Comcar.com

Sounds like we have the same employer gsp, I’m Service (E S SR) though.

It’s the Latchway system from memory. Burbo Banks was one of the early offshore windfarms, and as such as a few bits and pieces the newer ones don’t.

    Are you Wind Power gsp?
