It all depends exactly how she’s employed, but as Zaskar says get specific advice, as HR law is heavily weighted towards the employee and it’s much easier to muck it up than do it right. The last thing you want is to be caught in an unfair dismissal situation.

Last of the line Rs were fairly wild with 225hp, and I liked the look of them with the body kit and big 5 spokes. I reckon they missed a trick with the new one, it’s a bit dull (IMHO obviously).

The basic principle was a casette in a box (not such a bad idea), but there was so much to it with it’s trick Showa forks and rear shock etc. Awesome bike! Rumour is they scrapped them all when Honda Racing was no more.

The Dirt website’s pretty good, as is mtbcut.tv Both DH focused but have a lot of other stuff as well.

Edit: I’m a bloody dork, Mpora is Dirt!

My bike – he dropped it and only just made the transition, I didn’t see anyone else doing that! Your photo is Peat over the finish 50m down the track!

Good stuff. I’m in Salford Quays so motorway is pretty accessible.

    Gee fourth.

Anyone know what happened to Ben Cathro? He didn’t appear out of the woods on Freecaster and not much was said about it. He would have been pushing top ten at least.

Good point – not Dover. Another good point on the French F1 but you get the jist.

Overnighter sounds tiring – although you really can’t beat a roadtrip!

I’m considering the same, especially after Les Deaux Alpes feature in this month’s Dirt – now that looks fun! I was thinking about driving for a change (from Manchester). Premier Inn in Dover Thursday night, tunnel at 5am, Morzine for late afternoon. Leave Alps Monday afternoon after riding, or early doors Tuesday.

A lot of driving and not cheap (400 ish) but you can’t beat a road trip – now and again.

It’s not as complicated as it first appears:

Craig McMartin Cycles – the shop
    Bikesapart – the online shop
Freeflow Bikes – second online shop (their Internet provider created major problems during set-up, so they set up another site to keep trading)
Glasgow Cycles – website that covers shop, club, forum etc

Good guys who will always help if they can.

You’ll sail through Glasgow and over The Erskine Bridge at that time of night. The whole route will be fine other than the top of Loch Lomond, although if you’re feeling ‘assertive’ even that won’t slow you down much at that time (watch for some nasty potholes around there though).

I didn’t even need a letter from the company broker. Letter from my HR Manager got me full no-claims.

Anyone had problems with Thule roof bars scratching their Mk5 Golf roofs? First car was in a hell of a state so haven’t used rack since replacing car. Also anyone see any reason why a Golf GTI couldn’t have a tow bar fitted?

Carried my Commencal Supreme DH up a hill at the weekend and I can safely say there’s no easy way of doing it! Balancing it on the ruck sack was the best I could manage, but it wasn’t ideal.

MisterGnar you are officially the man! How are you so wise?

It must take years of riding everything the world of mountain biking has got to throw at you to have such an all emcompassing knowledge of our sport. Makes me wonder how you find the time to write all these pages of pish?!

Amazon is good and generally cheaper than iTunes (though not as slick).

There’s a couple of okay trails in and around Campbeltown (ask the guys in Breaks Surf Shop, they’ll point you in the right direction). If you can be bothered driving 45 mins north there’s a good wee trail centre in Lochgilphead.

I think if you read my post properly you’ll see I’m defending waiting staff (which I did for years) and totally agree they more than deserve tips. It was Coffeeking that seems to have something against tipping them.

Booorrriiinnnggg. I don’t think anyone is suggesting waiting staff are victims, although I am absolutely suggesting that your view point is pretty poor.

I would beg to argue that the R32 is powerful but is not a cockmobile. But then I am biased. A reasonably specced manual R32 MK V was about £25k. For the R20 with DSG, recaros etc definitely be hitting £30K.”

I think you’re right, but give or take that’s what an R32’s cost over the last couple of years. It’s only now that road tax and fuel have gone up, as well an impending new model, that there are some cracking deals to be had.

The R20T should be on a par with the FRS’s performance, and significantly faster then the outgoing model, as it just isn’t powerful enough for the extra weight over a GTI.

    Sorry, back to the Focus!

R32 was 24 list, but in reality didn’t exist as it was too basic for words.

It will, but if you want ‘luxuries’ such as electric windows, a heater, etc, wheels, etc; it’ll be more like 30k.

Golf R20T is the way forward. Four wheel drive, 270PS and DSG – job done!

I don’t do track days, but then I don’t pootle about either. Pilots are not too bad on BC so might pay the extra few quid to keep things balanced.

    Thanks

Anyone ever got a Black Circles quote, got the fitter details, then phoned them independently to negotiate with any success? Currently in a brutal position of needing two tyres for my car and two for bird’s. A grand total of £600 on Black Circles.

Also what’s the consensus with mixing brands front and back? Got Michelin Pilots on my Golf, but Good Year F1s get a good write up and are on offer.

    Cheers
