It's a Caddy Maxi Life which has a higher interior spec that makes it a bit more car like. It was originally a 7 seater but all the rear seats are removed. It's a long wheelbase so there's a fair bit of room, but obviously it gives width and height to the Transporter. It's got the 2.0 140bhp TDI, and goes really well.

Because it's all windowed I need to get some foil window panels made up, but I'm intending to mainly using it in sunnier climes so I'm not too worried (although I'm racing at Inners next week and expect to be **** freezing).

Never tried only one row of seats out, but I'd imagine it would go in minus front wheel.

Mine's a work in progress, but getting there.

Thule Euroclassic for the bike. Bike fits behind the front seats broken up at a push for security when required.

Fridge on the left, hob on the right in stowed position – final cushion's getting remade due to cock-up.
    [/url]

Bed and limited sitting/dressing area when front seats are forward.

On a par! On a serious note the HMRC have never checked anything of mine in 8 years and hundreds of thousands of miles – not that there would be a problem if they did. Depending on your current tax code and mileage you can claim tax relief as well if you are paid less than the recommended government rates. I would get the insurance sorted though as someone went in to me last week and it was one of the first things I was asked.

What's the situation après booze if you camp in Allemont, is it far from AdH to hitch/taxi/whatever? Also anyone recommend which campsite is quiet, and which full of Brits? Cheers all.

Open your eyes people. I'm not a massive football fan but that man has been at the top of his game for years and has the European medals to prove it. He's a shy man and was obviously sh1ting it, but better that than dome of the other egos floating about.

Wish it was Peaty, it should be Giggs, but it'll no doubt be Button.

Will, remember you can pay-as-you-go so you don't have to commit to a full day's uplift if you want to go and brake yourself in gently. It's £5 a go, but you have to wait until the last minute to make sure everyone else that wants to be on is on.

I think DH biking could make good TV if the same budget and production as say DH skiing was applied; however it's not, so it's shit. Ho hum.

Yes, Manchester. However prior to January I lived in Glasgow since 1996, and prior to that just down the road since '78 so don't go down that road you wee profile snooper!

Anyway it's a Friday and Im in too good a mood to fall out with anyone virtually so let's move on.

Boardin Bob – If you want to get on the smack nice and early as there's nothing else to do, piss school up against the wall at about 11, then find yourself trapped in a high rise scheme with not much going for you; then Glasgow fits the bill and will deliver you all the usual stereotypes.

However, if you are lucky enough not to be in that world, Glasgow is a city with a lot going for it. The bars, restaurants and clubs are second to none, and there is epic outdoorness on your doorstep. There are prettier cities in Scotland, but none buzz like Glasgow (IMO of course).

Having said all that I recommend you head in to Easterhouse and say "Epic Fail" to someone. Give us a shout when you're doing it.

You'd think reading some of the above that Glasgow is basically a cross between Belfast 15 years ago and downtown Gaza – total p1sh. The city's certainly got more than it's fair share of ropey areas, but no more than Manchester, Liverpool, Birmingham etc.

Glasgow is a warm and friendly city on the whole (apart from in some of the overtly affluent western and southern suburbs) though clearly riding past Rangers Football Club at 2am in a Celtic top on a £4k mountain bike wouldn't be a great idea – show me a big city where it would be.

It's a bit odd that anyone (myself included) would devote any of their life to reading a four page post where a (apparent) stranger asked whether or not another forum user ever posted/contributed to cycling topics; much less waste further time bombarding the guy with 'hilarious' left wing images, or generally ganging up on him.

    Ride your bikes saddos!

Very nice again Jemima. 36s seem to be the fork of choice. Currently being tormented by colour choice, matt black like my Five is in the lead currently, but a bit unadventurous.

Seconded. I'm sure there'll be a beer tent but a warm Tennents Lager out a Tesco bag while you freeze your ass off at the side of the pitch is the tradition.

I've recently moved down from North of the Border, and compared to Scottish trail centres found it a bit naff. I find long portions of it dull, it too busy, and with a bizzarely high chav count.

HOWEVER, the topish black bit is one of my favourite trail centre runs anywhere; pumpy, fast with very little margin for error on some of the bigger or off-camber jumps – love it! For that reason I keep going back, I kind of look at as training cycle with a ten minute buzz and a good burger at the end.a

The Megaavalanche finishes the day before the Morzine rest day. But of driving involved but potential for a good ten days racing/watching/DHing; the other half is thrilled!

Why do people get so worked up by the guy/airline? He comes accross as a bit of a chancer admittedly, but in my experience he delivers. I've flown extensively with them, and the vast majority of flights are on time, and cheap.

    Vote with your feet.

If I'd had a Visa Electron mine would have been free! As long as we agree 2400 miles of air travel for 4 quid is 'free'?
