Why is the shimano hub linked to by Brother Will so cheap? Will it break?

It is rather heavy. And probably a bit more drag than the more expensive models, but the drag is barely noticeable anyway.
Its a basic Shimano hub, about equivalent to Deore. So it will probably last ages without breaking.

Yep pretty much its more than suitable for my utility biking duties but id say for sport biking something a little lighter would be better.
It was weird when i got it, just turning it in my hand it felt pretty notchy but as soon as it was laced up it span a bit more freely and now its on the bike i don’t notice it at all.

I fitted a Shimano DH3D32 dynamo hub and B&M light to my Kona Min-ute, I went for the version without the reflector since it gives better visible distance my version also has the day light and the senso function which is all superfluous since its never turned off but rose bikes had a deal on.

Id not intended to get a rear light but being so impressed with the front I’m going to get round to adding one soon, but this weekends project is replacing the crappy cable disc brakes with hydraulics.

Leuven is worth a visit, bikes and pubs everywhere. Its the home of the Stella Artois brewery which i believe also does tours. If you do visit i recommend a bar called the Capital, they have 2000 beers on stock including 20 beers on draft. Leuven is also a good base to visit the centre of brussels too since you can grab a train and avoid the insane traffic.

Marathon plus with green guard, never had a picture with them, make sure you have some good tyre levers though.

I echo the comments above re sticking it in a savings account then you’ll have it there if and when they ask for it back but id be concerned about how HMRC will respond to you having recieved 2 lots of pay because at least of of those will not be entitled to the tax free allowance.

I would be worried about future proofing, you aren’t going to have that TV forever, what happens when you change it for a thinner one and it sits too far back or a bigger one and the recess isn’t wide enough? TVs are getting thinner and thinner each year it won’t be long before they are simply plastic sheets. I say mount it directly on the wall with the thinnest bracket you can find if you must and direct any efforts into hiding the wires.

What the others said, start with the plastic cup using heat fire or drill bit then once the cartridge is out use a hacksaw to cut the metal cup apart carefully. Since the frame is being painted anyway it might be worth having the threads chased and bb faced after painting.

I rode 100 miles Cambridge to London on my scandal earlier this year and kept pace with the roadies. Setup was MKM carbon forks up front, rapid robs 2.35 60psi. 1X9 38t front 11-32 cassette. It wasn’t too bad but i think if i was going to do it again i would put some proper slicks or semi slicks on it.

I used the old stem method and i might as well done it by eye for how accurate it was. Go with a pipe cutter or a hacksaw guide.

Hmm this is interesting I’m currently been using the qr version of this hub and been contemplating a fork change but some of the choices I’ve looked at have been 15mm and I’ve been wondering what work would be involved in the change.

Going back to the OP most of the villages in that area are nice. Folksworth, Stilton, even Yaxley is okay these days if your just looking for a room to rent there is the suburb of Hampton which is quite large but well taken care of for amenities and well appointed and plenty of house shares.
