I get on really well with mine. Very comfortable, removes jarring, separates my body mass from the frame and allows the frame to work better I think?

There is a Charge Cooker Maxi available for hire on the west side of the New Forest in Hampshire.

Love Mary Bars, just seem to put my wrists at the correct angle. About to buy another, so very intrigued to hear of a new bar, the OG.

Pics and more info ASAP please.

My son lives in Copenhagen and could not understand why Islabikes would not ship there. There was nothing local to compare, so he ordered it for delivery to me and we posted it on to him. Daft really, but with two grandkids to get use of it, both will enjoy a properly designed bike, and will then sell on very easily at only a small loss.

Copenhagen is a cycling paradise and they ride everywhere, hardly use the car. The way bikes are prioritised and have all rights of way puts the UK to shame. So the bike will be well used.

Don’t forget, when you are riding this bike for years to come, Sam’s engineering skills are 1000 times more important than his communications skills. As a first Kickstarter, there has been lots to learn and Rooster will gain from that.

Every ship can be tracked, perhaps a ship tracking number would help backers know where their frames are.

Singular Facebook page mentions US frames are about there and UK shipment is on the high seas somewhere. I does takes longer to get here from Taiwan than to the US.

I bought a secondhand pair of Hope XC hubs for a set of Rooster wheels. Hubs probably need new bearing service.

The Velocity hubs are described as Taiwan cartridge bearing hubs.

If I go with just Dually rims from Sam, how much would spokes and build cost and who would you use for the build?

May just buy the basic wheelset to save hassle, it is a very good offer and way below US pricing and Surly wheelset.

In the future I want to try IGH, either Alfine if the 2015 updates work better, or Rohloff if I could try one, so a set of extra rims also makes sense.

Can you tell I am confused?

Steelsreal, thanks for posting about how well your ECR works on a trip such as Plymouth to Minehead and that you look forward to the Southampton to St Austell section as well.

I have backed the Rooster project, and I had been thinking that doing the South West Way, Poole to Minehead would be a fantastic trip, but was pretty unsure if it was suitable with a bike and if walkers would be a constant nag with their disapproval of a bike on the paths.

Would be quite a trip, 600 miles of magnificent coastal scenery, and a morning, mid-day and evening sea swim to cool down and refresh.

I had a feeling 29+ could be just right for bikepacking a coastal route, so good to know it works.

Bike Rumor had this to say about 2015 developments

“If IG hubs are your thing, there is a new Alfine 8 speed mechanical IG hub with a flat bar Rapidfire top-normal shifter. The Nexus Inter-7 hubs see improvements as well for improved shifting. All hubs will be offered in black or silver, and are expected around September for availability.”

Shimano Expands 11 Speed, Tubeless Road Wheel Line, Polishes Dynamo & IG Hubs

Any engineering company redesigns and tries to improve reliability in it’s next iteration of product development, and Japanese companies excel in this area. So, if Alfine is moving to top shifting, the opposite way round, perhaps this indicates greater internal changes.

    Let’s hope so.

does the CM10 code not work if the item is discounted already? Tried to but Zee chainset for £79 with extra 10% off but will not process.

That’s really nice. When you get your first fat bike and realise just where you can ride, the last thing you want is a derailleur gear hanging down collecting plants, rocks and sand. IGH or dingle speed makes so much sense.

The 170 mm rear stopped me from going for the Puffin, although if Rohloff do go ahead with their 170mm I will wish I had gone for it. Did go for the Rooster though. Should look lots like your Pugs.

What gear ratios have you gone for front and rear? Thinking of going Alfine for my Rooster.

Thanks Yetiman, 2.5″ sounds just right for my Fargo with Fox forks for now and then later when Rooster frame arrives with what ever the best 3″ tyre is by then.

Yetiman, could you possibly measure how wide the 2.4 Mountain Kings are on the new 35mm rims.

I have the same tyres and when I first unpacked them, they laid on the table at about 3″ wide. Ever since have wondered how wide they would be on 35mm or even 45mm Dually’s. On my 719’s they are only just over 2″, say 2.2 at a guess.

Would be good to know the width will be ok on my 2014 Fargo, there looks to be lots of room just now.

Singlespeed Hope XC either Dually or carbon rims.

    How about these http://www.carbonality.com/29er-mtb-rim-30mm-width-2.html

anybody found wider carbon rims at a decent price yet?

I am in. Yellow, with anything cage mounts. Thought I would go for Swift blue if it was offered but the yellow just seems to suit the Rooster.

Bought a pair of Hope XC hubs yesterday. Will build as a single speed.

Would join a rim group purchase.

I had a DNA, son still has his. No suspension at all but great bike, very well made in Russia. These guys seem to do some amazing work, http://forums.mtbr.com/bike-frame-discussion/triton-bikes-titanium-frames-handmade-russia-anyone-583688.html
Towards the end of the thread they are building a titanium fat bike frame. I have a Moonlander and love it. You should consider a Ti fat bike, brilliant fun.
