The law has just been clarified allowing extreme violence to be served to the burglers if it is in the heat of the moment and in defence of you and your property.

Ken Clarke says “We will make it quite clear you can hit the burglar with the poker if he’s in the house and you have a perfect defence when you do so.”
I say get a bat so that you can defend yourself when the next scumbag tries to break in 😈

Five Tens all the way – best money spent for gripping flats on my 575

Looks like he may be using parcelgroup2012 on ebay – this is a courier service offering cheap bike shipping – hope he gets caught, let us know what happens – he also had a very expensive Specialized on sale starting at £100.00 and sale stopped early. claims he is staying in a hotel and pick-up can be arranged there, very dodgy by the sound of it.

Happened to me on a demo SB66 – rear mech snapped and went into spokes, adjusted chain to single speed and somehow managed to cycle back to base – not good 😥

You need to tailor your CV to the job whilst also being truthful – check this link out (it is transferable to other job types)

    http://www.caterer.com/careers-advice/cvs/should-i-dumb-down-my-cv

Keep it simple and to the point with a well written (not too lengthy) personal statement and you won’t have a problem.

[I have revs on mine with a Thomson seatpost and is about 28.5Ibs.. Interested in the difference (putting aside slight weight gain caused by reverb obv..)

Hi althepal – mine weighs in at 29 lbs with XT Race Kit, Reverb and DMR flats

simpelz then – just dumb down the cv 😉

Your CV should be customised to suit the position you are applying for – perhaps you need to be brief on the historical jobs which have lost current context and focus on the more recent skills that you will bring to the job you are applying for.

Career change and working your way through college is takes lots of guts and determination so good luck with it all. 🙂

Rode clipless until I had a couple unspectacular but painful falls so invested in a pair of 5.10’s and DMR flats and haven’t looked back since – all depends on what works for you and not what other people think so try it and see … 😉

Its a great bike but does carry a bit of extra weight compared to my old Stumpy – I did all the research, demos etc and went for the new 2012 version with Reverb post – you won’t go wrong 😉

If you enjoy it and can afford ride it – doesn’t matter if others can ride better on a lesser bike and you only live once 😀 My new ride is a Yeti 575 from OPA[/url]

Spent the day there today and conditions were fine – a few puddles but the trails were in really good shape plus I just picked up a brand new Yeti 575 which takes the edge of any weather conditions 😉

OK – this is the deal, egg white starts to coagulate in the range 62-65 °C. At these temperatures it is the most heat sensitive protein, the ovotransferrin, which constitutes 12% of the egg white, which coagulates.
The major protein of egg white, ovalbumin, makes up 54% of the white and doesn’t coagulate until the temperature reaches 80 °C. The yolk begins to thicken around 65 °C and sets around 70 °C. In other words cook the egg to 70 °C and you should have perfect scrambled egg – not too runny and not too dry 😀

I have the original style 575 (27.2 seatpost) and it does not work well with a 591 due to a cable boss towards the bottom of the downtube. They may well have changed this for the later models.

Yes – its the 2012 575 so perhaps there are changes?
Wrapping bubble wrap around the frame might also be a solution to stopping paint rub – thanks for the feedback

Hadge – I am with you on the concerns re water ingress, complicated linkage etc and after a lot of soul searching went for the 2012 575. Loved the ASR5 (and SB66 rides real nice) but for me the 575 hits just the right spot between ASR5 and SB66

The SB66 is a great bike – rode one last week and all went well until the rear mech snapped. Some issues with chewing up switch bearings which had to do with wrong spec on bearings and apparently resolved – QC issues nonetheless a concern.

Almost bought the 66 but decided to go for the 575 XT with reverb post as it is tried and tested and plenty enough for my style of riding – being built this week.

iBaa thats a good deal you got, and sounds like the bike suits local trails very well. Do you think its worth considering the reverb seatpost ?

I am looking towards probably the XT race build in aluminium with 127 mm forks, just need to negotiate the right deal and sell my Stumpy!

Mal-ec I demo’d one last week and I had great ride on it – I ride mostly Llandegla, Marin trail etc and want a new bike to replace my old stumpy elite fsr. Just need to decide if it really is worth the £££’s for a Yeti and which spec to go for.

iBaa thats a great price you got on the ASR5 – which build is it and what type of riding do you do? Reviews say it is a bit stiff over the rough stuff, but climbs great.

Dogbone that sounds like a nice build and good to have a custom spec. I have been looking at the Yeti XT race build but the enduro build is about £600 cheaper – not sure which way to go on this – I demo’d a XT race build and it was excellent.

Thanks olibluegoat – sounds like a good deal and I was not aware of the ‘special blend’

Just back from a test ride on Yeti ASR5 – better climber than my Stumpy and very fast on the downs. A great all round bike it seems. To be fair any down side was more to do with me than the bike – gears took a bit of getting used to, slightly wider bars made it feel like I had a bit less control on tight bits but probably I just needed a bit more time on the bike.
Aiming to try a 575 next and a new Stumpjumper. The Mojo is also looking real good but v expensive! Gotta get the right deal – not sure on how much the dealers will move on price?

Thanks mboy – its just a bit of banter after all. My budget is a bit tight as well 😉

Tomorrow I will be heading out onto the trails on my horse and cart with a Halfords Apollo FSR (Closest I could find to an Orange 5 and just as bulky!) 😆

Calm down mboy – its just a commercial! Just like you my favourite ever cars/ bikes have been the ones I could afford at that point in time. Try not to get wound up by what other people have and just enjoy what you got 😀

Does mboy like black BMW 5 series touring – I have one and its great for transporting my new bikes! 😆
