lesson one, never cut thy waterproofs down in vein. cutting those trews down was your sign of commitment and should have been your reason to man the f up and not wimp out cos of a runny nose !

some hubs are wider than others, that means the rotor is further outboard, causing it to touch the mount.

If I were to try anything it would probably be swapping the Float 34 160’s to set of Pikes, they were a great fork !

Ive had a few 5’s over the years and currently have a 2013 a.m. I have to say that the 140/140 is a better bike than the 160/140. It climbed better and was faster everywhere except steeper dh’s. The 5 is a very strong bike but you pay for this with a fairly heavy weight (not weighed it but guessing 32/33 lbs). If I was to choose again I’d have an Enduro as it was much more capable, both xc and dh and lighter ! Overall I like the 5 a.m but be prepared to lug it around til the slopes come, its strength is its strength but it comes at a price.

I have my car insured with them and they’re pretty hard to contact once they have your money. Have my house and bike insured with the AA, bargain, didnt even have to specify the bike and its covered for £5k !

I have that shock on my Orange 5. It is def under damped, rebound is on full and when set with around 25/30% sag it bottoms out way too easily when in the dh mode, so much so that I cant use that setting. I just think that it’s too linear.

The trials/ss hub has a specific drive side end spacer (same id as the older Pro 2 and smaller od to fit inside the circlip that holds the bearing in). What you have there is the standard Pro 2 Evo spacers.

do not bleed upwards, there are tapered seals in the master cylinder that dont agree with fluid being pushed the wrong way past them. only bleed from the master cyl end. there is a ‘how to’ vid on Hopetech.com

i came face to nose with a bloke on a horse near whelpstone once. i warned him politely that he was on a bike track but he was adamant it was a bridleway and as such he was going to continue. ok i said but be careful ! live and let live i reckon, but its his risk. personally i prefer the wind-up technique to the lose your temper, its more fun !

Is it normal for it to spin a bit less freely than before to start with? you probably dont have the seal seated correctly

its bad enough that the police seem to be trying their best NOT to find our stolen bikes and the f k rs that steal them, now theyre actually anti cyclist !

its not mine but making dodgy looking ads public is a great idea superdale ! there are way too many bikes being nicked !!
