ndthornton.. “I dont think the none driveside crank was installed properly”..
primary cause of Hope gen 1 crank shaft failure.
P.S, I had a set of xt cranks do the same thing a few years ago.

There looks to be a few Ebay accounts chancing their arms offering various Hope items at rediculous prices, pivots screws at £30 a pair etc. I’ve seen a cup coaster advertised for £50 and sheets of stickers that Hope give away free for £20 a sheet! Let the buyer beware hey!

Insanely skilled rider but it’s his vision that impresses me the most, he rides up,down, along and over stuff others dont even see! Whoever he ends up with I’m sure he will be putting his own unique stamp on their brand.
Good luck Chris, and more of the same please!!

The ratchet ring is the same (and they are bonded in anyway), the pawl slots in the SS/T freehub are offset.

If you remove the wheel and pump the lever until the pads hit each other before disconnecting the hose at the master cylinder end) you can shorten the hose, re-connect it, remove master cylinder lid then push the pistons back into the caliper. Any air that has entered the hose will be pushed up into the reservoir as it should still be at the top end. Pump the lever until pads touch again, push pistons back in and repeat a few times will push any air to the surface. Check that caliper pistons are all the way back, top fluid up,fit diaphragm and lid, job done.

until you can ride without it hurting so much you have to stop (codeine helps;-)

allyb, I have a Berghaus Velum 3 jacket in large if your still after a jacket? worn 5 times, as new £100 posted…

pad overlap isnt too much of a problem, until the unworn parts touch each other. Thats when the pistons start twisting and you quickly run out of braking power.

I use this route quite a bit in winter, good tracks that youd be hard pressed to damage! I did notice the new signs recently but chose to ignore then, not many folk up there on a wet winter night ! I suppose the best thing if confronted would be to be polite and reasonable but if they are insistent just turn around, no point in making things worse. Then just go back later

Im 6 ft 1, broadish shoulders. Its not too bad, just a tad small. I got it for a summer ‘pakamac’ really but its more a winter shell really, but with a couple of layers underneath it feels a touch tight over my shoulders and I prefer loose jackets really. I reckon its good for up to 6ft

I have one of these http://www.outdoorgb.com/p/Berghaus_Velum_III_Mens_Gore-Tex_Active_Jacket/?utm_source=froogle&utm_medium=directory&utm_content=GBR&currency=GBP&country=GBR&SelectedBundle=181450&SelectedItem=658264&gclid=CIeQ7LL5xMkCFSOJ2wodkFQL4g size large in green and black. Worn it three times, works great but its a touch too small for me, should have got XL! Anyway, its yours for £100 if you fancy…
