I was hoping to chance my arm and meet up with you all between the Shepherds and Warland res, if you are still doing the route Dahz mentioned and leaving about 10-00, but I have had the Bregante trots from Monday night also, I will have to see tomorrow if I’m pamper free.

Sorry still not fully fit after the op going out on medium rides but not up to the rigours of a full blown MNPR. Binners if you mean Hebden (not sure of Hebdon) could meet up as I’m still of work you should have my email from the tee shirt comms let me know.

What a gem of a ride, certainly on my list to do again. After just walking the dogs I’m glad it’s not the Tuesday night pub ride, wouldn’t send a dog out in this, just a minute though !!!

What a brilliant ride, thanks to all who waited, thanks to our guides for showing new tracks after many years of thinking I knew them all. I fully intend to re-ride it when there is 16 hours of daylight and 4 weeks into a 6 week drought.
I also experienced at the final descent what life is like for the bike, as I went over the bars and slid face down for about 5 or 6 yards with a 32lb steel frame on my back, luckily no one saw, though I did get strange looks as I pulled clumps of (note Yorkshire) moorland out of my helmet vents in the pub. I think it was summed up last week “Well that was character building” certainly was for me.
As for the dog walking I’m sure I heard on a few occasions “I wouldn’t send a dog down there” as for jockey wheels after trying many, I have come to rely on those from the Barnoldswick factory. Hope (see what I did there) to ride with you all again sometime (There is only one Monday in a month isn’t there?),if you don’t mind me slowing you up.

I can understand people’s frustration I am one of the lucky ones and have had a rocket for nearly two years and I have never regretted the purchase it totally transformed my mtb experience and enjoyment I hope this helps you to weather out the wait I am sure it will be worth it

Did the Overgate winter warmdown, well deserving and well organised event, weather was better than the forcast, thoroughly enjoyed it. It never ceases to amaze me how many set off so ill prepared, no split links or chain splitter. Used to have sympathy, but now a good walk back might sharpen their minds. Many thanks to the Calder Valley Mountain Rescue.
Wish I’d taken photo of the guy who turned up with BMW open top car with his bike on the back seat, wonder how went on going home after all the mud.

More on Mech hanger, did contact Cotic who as always were very helpful but could not post out any spares out for 4 days, as no one was in the office, Mon Tues and Wed, they also advised they only had very few spares, so to cover my bets, I ordered from Germany also(these arrived first) I could not find any other source in UK. It is bad not being able to use your new bike for a week. I also wanted people to know, not only carry the bolt as a spare, but also the hanger part. I also think there is a problem with the bolt length / thread engagement 4.5mm instead of 6.5mm, that caused the bolt to rip out the threads, which I am trying to clear up with Syntace (as this is not a Cotic design) will update when / if they reply.

Hi Nice build, finished my build about a month ago, just a bit of advice on the syntace mech hanger system, carry a spare bolt and hanger The mech must have hit a rock or something, but instead of the bolt breaking as designed, it ripped the threads from the hanger, it took a nearly a week to get replacement parts from Germany as no one seems to stock these in the UK.
